Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good morning all. Nothin new to report. I have a busy day at work so I'm hoping time will go by fast...until 5:00 this evening, anyway. Have a great Friday!

Good Friday the 13th, my Christmas friends!

My mom is a tall but slender woman of 70, so imagine this: She just killed her second rattlesnake this week! She killed one a few day ago next to her house...with a shotgun! Yesterday, she killed one at her neighbor's house...with a shotgun! Mom's getting pretty handy with a gun HAHA! Hopefully, we'll start getting some cooler weather soon, and the snakes will hole-up for the winter.

I cut grass till dark yesterday afternoon, but it paid off. I wouldn't have been surprised if the neighbors had stopped by to thank me for cleaning up my yard. LOL

Tonight we're all going back to Statesboro (about 30 miles from here) where the nearest movie theater is located. Jacob's buddies have all decided they are big and bad enough to watch a scary movie at the theater, so they all dared each other to go watch Insidious 2. I guess I'll wake up in the morning to find a 6 foot tall 16 year-old in my bed.

We're going to try out the new "gourmet pizza" place while he's at the movie.

Happy TGIF day. We hope to make it to the mountain fair tomorrow. We are expecting great weather here this weekend. Tomorrow's forecast is sunny with a high of 69 with a low in the upper 40s. We will be sleeping with the windows open. I am can't wait for the first frost. It is great to wake up to a frost covered ground. As always, I hope we have a very cold winter with lots of snow.

When I walked Harlowe earlier this morning, it was 39 degrees out!! Awesome & beautiful!! The high is 75 degrees, and we're already in the mid 50's. Love this time of year.

We are going to have sun and clouds today with temperatures in the upper 70's. I am finishing up a cup of coffee and then I need to get dinner started in the crock pot. We are having beef stew tonight. I have a couple of errands and chores to do this morning. I also need to write a menu and grocery list and hopefully get to the butcher. And I'm going to squeeze in a visit to my parents house. I hope everyone has a happy Friday!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's a beautiful day here in central Indy with a high of 69 predicted!!!! Love it!!!! I have a few errands to run today and then it will be back home to enjoy some time on the porch before they mow the grass and I'm forced to lock myself inside for the rest of the day. It's Friday the 13th! Do you know what that means?! No, it's not some silly misnomer courtesy of a horror film.. It means that we are now officially two months away from the beginning of the Christmas Season! Yes, in two months from today - November 13th - we will all be gathered in this thread celebrating the beginning of our favourite time of year. A time when the entire world welcomes Christmas! Until then, let's keep enjoying these wonderful days ahead of us. Fall has plenty to provide!

I might be around a little today, but I will be heading to Rochester, NY later this afternoon for a tournament. It's my first time going in a couple years, so I am pretty excited. Rochester isn't a particularly nice town, but at it's an easy 4 hour drive. As mentioned, I will be able to wake up a little earlier than first expected to update everyone with the count. I won't be responsible for debuting any milestones, but we'll be oh so close to one!

I should probably get ready. I have a few errands to run this morning. Have a great Friday, everyone! I hope that it moves quickly. You all deserve a weekend!

I had a Louanne moment on the way to work this morning. For a few miles I was behind a Polar Beverages delivery truck, with a big, beautiful polar bear looking straight at me from the back panel.

I stayed up a little too late last night after a tiring day yesterday, so I'm not at full strength just now. Hoping the day doesn't demand too much! It's been a busy week at the office, and I have a few errands to run this evening. I would like it to be a lazy weekend (and I would like it to get here quickly), but you never know until it happens!

Good morning! TGIF!! Friday the 13th! It is a darn chilly 55º this morning. The wind makes it feel like 45º!! :cold: That was a drastic change from 99º two days ago!!! It would be an awesome night for a big kettle of soup!!!

We had a great time last night. I am sleepy today - coudln't believe it when my alarm went off this morning. My friends kept me out way too late last night! :lol: A nap might be in order when I get off work at noon! Maybe a scary movie & a nap?! But I'm really in the mood to cook/bake....and put up fall decorations!! We'll see!!!

Shotguns are great for killing snakes. I bought my wife a 410 when we moved back here. I've killed several copperheads but no rattlesnakes in the last few years. The old folks around here tell me copperheads are loners but rattlesnakes live in groups. Be careful out there.

The only good snake is a dead snake in my opinion! Keep shootin' partner!

Hey everyone!

I don't know how I missed this, but apparently the Barenaked Ladies are playing three Christmas shows in Ottawa on Dec 12-14. Hits and Holidays Songs. I'd imagine they will be playing a few more of their Christmas classics than hits. Anyway, Kim and I just found out today and purchased balcony seats to see BNL perform at the National Arts Centre here. It should be a great time! Very excited!

I have wanted to see BNL live since I was about six years old when their debut album Gordon was released in Canada and the song Enid was a number one hit... at least it was in Canada. Of course, that longing increased even more with the release of Barenaked for the Holidays. And now, I'll finally be seeing them live! Very excited. The Season is only two months away and BNL is three. Can't wait!
