I forgot to wrote this in my earlier post, my oldest is starting to question the existence of Santa Claus.
When my wife was getting ready to leave for work this morning, he kept asking her if she is really Santa Claus. Her response was classic, "Do I look like a jolly fat guy?" But he kept asking if she was the one that brought the presents.
I knew this wasn't going to last forever, but it is really sad that my oldest is starting to not believe in Santa anymore. I truly believed until I was 13-14 years old. I don't want to tell him yet, I was hoping to get through one last Christmas with him truly believing. Hopefully he won't question it again for a little while, but reality is coming and we must let him know probably sooner rather than later.
This has really upset me, I am not ready for him to not believe anymore. I just really don't want him to ruin it for his little brother. I still believe in Santa Claus, and I need to let him know that Santa was a real person and we have to keep his legacy going.

I am going to have to pick up the book "The Santa Club" that was reviewed here a few years ago, and let him read it to try to not ruin it for his brother. http://christmasfinest.com/2011/09/10/book-review-the-santa-club/

Reading your post, made me reflect to when my daughter started going to Middle School (on the school bus) and the kids there teased her about her believing in Santa Claus. I always had told her that there was a Santa Claus and then came that dreadful day, one day, when I walked past her door, she was in her bedroom, lying in her bed, crying.

I went in rubbed her head and of course, she told me what had happened and the teasing that occurred that day on the bus.... I was devastated that a part of her youth was now torn away because of a bunch of non-believer's on a school bus.... So, with her lying there and me sitting on her bed, I told he the truth about everything, including that he was a real person in life (and a Saint) and that I believe in the spirit, goodwill and generosity of Santa Claus. I even read to her the reply to Virginia O'hanlon's letter by Francis Pharcellus Church~

It helped alot, and our talk and the time we shared together, made her think alot about what we hold true, private and dear to out hearts. To this very day, and as recently as this year, she told me this, "I Believe"!
I love my little girl; who will be 19 soon....

I'm glad you had that time with your daughter! And in glad she believes.

Why do some people have to be so cruel and make fun of others? It drives me crazy!

Good evening everyone! Surprisingly it hasn't rained here today. I guess that very cloudy morning sky misled me and I put my wellies on. (They are not the most comfortable shoes to wear, aren't they?) Anyway, this day was the worst I have had in many years. I simply felt like out of control. I couldn't stay focused during my lectures, I tried to stay away from everyone because I felt angry for some reason, and I went to bed after I came home. I fell asleep and I have just woken up. I still have that strange sense of worry which is really bothering me for a week now, and maybe today was its highest point? Anyway, I don't want to bother anyone here with my negative thoughts and emotions, and my friend has just back home so I will make us some tea and we will have a chat. She is the only person here I can rely on, and she always calms my mind down. And I will try to make my day much better tomorrow. :]

I hope you can find some peace of mind with your friend. The tea will help! We don't mind listening. Everyone has a negative day at times, and just being able to share it with people who care is a help. Spider Robinson wrote, "Shared pain is lessened; shared joy is increased."

Of course! This week we've watched "Hold That Ghost" (Abbott & Costello), and last night we saw "The Mysterious Mr. Wong" (Bela Lugosi). More to come! We haven't screened that new DVD of the restored "The Devil Bat" yet! (more Bela Lugosi)

P.S. Ryan---Don't forget to let us know what you think of "Double Door."

Oh Merry, I just love, absolutely love to watch the Abbott & Costello movies like; Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein, ...Meet the killer, ...Meet Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde... and such!

I mean there you are, classic movie stars, like Lon Chaney, Jr, Bela Lugosi, Glenn Strange, Vincent Price...ahhh the grand ole days~:-D

It was a brisk day! It was in the low 30's, and after being outside for a few hours, we could barely feel our fingers & toes!

Have a nice evening!

Good afternoon!
I decided to skip the gym after lunch and walk around a lake that's not far from my house instead. It turned out to be a beautiful day. I hope everyone is having a great day so far!

Earlier this evening LC and I ran to Rite Aid to pick up a prescription, and he fell in love with a 3 foot nutcracker. He was begging me to buy it for his nutcracker collection, saying to me ask the lady if we can buy it for $2 please. He just absolutely loved it at first sight, I think we have found a Christmas present for him.

Here he is hugging it:

In case any of you don't know my 5 year old loves nutcrackers, he has a small collection but he is always wanting to add more.
The ornament doesn't fall far from the Christmas tree. cheesy

Hey there you go, very nice! (Wow, That nutcracker is almost as tall as he is....)

Waiting for everyone to finish with their shopping so we can go home. It has been snowing off and on this afternoon nothing that stuck or lasted long but it was snow!

Hello everyone!

How are you all??

Sorry I haven't been on much lately but been pretty busy for the last while!

I heard an advert on the radio today about Christmas and it reminded me of my friends on here :-)

Hi, irishsnow - good to see you back! cheesy

Good morning,

Work will be beckoning for me soon enough, but I really don't know if I will be going. I am having some back spasms that are really limiting my mobility right now, I did take some pain medication so I hope that will help. If I do make it to work, I have a lot of administrative stuff to do today. We never made it to the pumpkin patch yesterday, it started to rain right before it was time to go. I don't know when we will be heading out or if we will at this point. I don't have another day off until Tuesday the 29th.

I am really getting to get into the holiday spirit now, seeing the snow pictures really made me realize how I am so looking forward to the music being on, the shows and movies on, and especially the decorations. I am so excited about it. Woooohoooo!!!!

I hope your back is better!
