brrrrr getting really chilly here.
Just finishing up and early supper and in about 1/2 leaving to drop off the houses
Tomorrow I have the day off and can really relax as I have nothing to do but bake a cake, clean the house, drop off a pile of operation Christmas child boxes, do some laundry and then go to the awards for the gingerbread competition.

Good afternoon everyone!

Happy 'Pines Day! Happy Christmas Season! Happy Thanksgiving Eve to all those celebrating tomorrow in the US. I'm sure you're all excited to gather around and eat some delicious food! The festivities will be wonderful.

I'm home again. It's a little disappointing to not receive a call today, but it was expected. We were hit with about 15-20cm of heavy snow last night. All busses for school boards in the area were cancelled. Of course, there isn't a need for a supply teacher if the busses are cancelled! Oh well... For the second day in a row, I have been hanging out with a new member of the apartment... Pauli, the cat! Pauli is the cat of our future roommate Cassie, who is a really close friend of ours. Cassie is not moving in until sometime in December. She's currently back in her hometown spending time with her mom, who only has a few days/weeks remaining after her cancer came back for the third time. It's too bad, but we can only hope they're both strong and fight their battles as best as they can. It will be tough, but Kim and I are hopeful that we can still make this a joyous season for Cassie.

In regards to today, I managed to get out for an hour or so and visit the Rideau Centre. I took some photos, which I will post momentarily in the Blossoms Thread. I think there are still a few places I need to visit and photograph. The most disappointing part of the Rideau Centre this year is that there is only one main store remaining. Nordstrom's, which took over the lease of Sears, is not opening until mid 2014. Therefore, aside from the mall decorations and busy displays inside stores within the mall, The Bay is the only option to have plenty of space dedicated to Christmas. And, aside from a few trees and garland here and there, The Bay is quite disappointing. Obviously, they have their Christmas Street, which photographed earlier in the year, but nothing else. I photographed a few things in Christmas Street again, too. I think they changed a few things... Hope you enjoy.

Anyway, that was a long post. I should get to uploading those photos. Have a great Wednesday everyone! Carl certainly has done a great job going from Christmas to Thanksgiving. I'm sure he's excited to return it to Christmas shortly after, too! Although he gave me an awkward look when I came in today, he said there were no hard feelings about getting my days wrong. I really thought yesterday was Wednesday! I guess I'm al wrapped up in the Christmas Season... Aren't we all!? Enjoy your celebrations. Merry Christmas!

Keeping Cassie & her family in my thoughts & prayers, Brent.

Just wanted to say hi and goodnight. I know I haven't been around lately the past few days, but we've been busy decorating and today I was busy getting ready for tomorrow, as I also wrapped all the gifts I've bought so far.

I know I missed some things, but I'm thinking of all of you. I have to work tonight at 11 and I'm on call as the start of now, until I have to go in at 11, so I am going to try to take a nap.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I will stop by at some point tomorrow.

God Bless and keep smiling! We all have so much to be thankful for!

Hi everyone, I wanted to share with you our good new, we got the house we were trying to get....Yay! Thank the Lord. We ended up getting into a bidding war on the house and we won. So ladies and gentlemen, thank you! Thank you for all of your prayers, thoughts and well wishes, we have a new house to live in...I truly believe we would not of have gotten the house if it wasn't from all the prayers received from all of you for me~ Thank you my friends....

We are celebrating by brining the turkey, making stuffing, gravy and getting the house and dinner ready for tomorrow; lol....

I hope everyone has a wonderful night~:hi:

Hope you are able to get out early today!

Have fun with the tree preparations, and relaxing a bit afterwards!!

Thank you! I got out about 1 p.m. and got home, had a little lunch, started some laundry, and started stringing lights. A couple hours later---fail. I had strung them too close together. Even though I had added a string of 100 since last year, I came up short. I had to strip them all off and start again from scratch! But the second time went a little quicker, and it looks very nice. I'm sitting on the sofa in my "library" looking at it as I browse and post. This weekend or Monday I'll decorate it. I did it this way last year: string the lights the day before Thanksgiving, decorate after, and it worked great for me do the hard part first, then enjoy the decorating later.

I am not feeling well at all AND I keep running into problems on the site: "The page could not display properly."

I am going to rest and see if I can start feeling better. TTYL

I hope you feel better soon Seawaters....

That works for us as well Merry...I put the lights on the tree and then usually Lisa and Victoria decorates the next day...

So pretty!!!

GThanks, HMG!!!!! They were pretty good. They just fought over who was going to stir the pot first when we made the macaroni salad and baked corn.

Praying that Molly is feeling better and that you got some rest!!!!

My girls still fight over things like that!

And thank you, Molly is doing well today!

Hope you are feeling better soon!!

Im off to bed...
Goodnight everyone!

Goodnight Solice!

last year for the first time I put a lot of clear lights near the trunk of the tree and loved how it looked. I am going to do this again this year.
Hope you have a great thanksgiving! We plan to watch the parade tomorrow morning before heading out for the day.

Thank you! That's the best way to do lights: go in a little way toward the trunk with them, and the tree just GLOWS! It'll be even better with the decorations, of course. I should have put the garland on, too, while I had it on the floor (it's 4-1/2 feet, and I stood it on a cedar chest). It would have been easier.

I hope you feel much better after your rest. And I hope your website problems are solved, 'cause we can't do without you here!

i almost forgot. I had to re-adjust the Christmas Tree here a little. Some ornaments had to be moved up. For instance, I put candy canes on the tree, but I had to move them up because Pauli might get to them otherwise. Here's a photo of Pauli from yesterday. Unfortunately, she has not yet returned under the tree. Such a cute photo!

Hello, Pauli! I didn't see her at first---she blends in with the decorations!

amazing to think about, we are at opposite sides of this globe, me near thee top, you near the bottom, yet through this machine we talk as if we are next door to each other.
This is so cool!

Yes, that is very cool! And all of us Christmas brethren together!

SO happy to hear this! You truly have something to give thanks for! I'm glad you got a house you really wanted. When do you get to move in?

She really does blend in very well with the decorations. She was lovin' the fake snow!

Praying for Cassie, her mom and the rest of her family.

Brent, I'm praying for Cassie and her mom!

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I am sure that Cassie appreciates all the help. It's a terrible situation, but she's doing her best to fight alongside her mom.

I can almost hear Bing Crosby singing!
It's a great sight to see while hearing Bing sing!

wow, looks great! We do not even have half that here
Believe it or not, that all came last night! Only took about 12 hours.
