I am going to turn in a little early tonight. My migraine is better but not completely gone, it's down to an annoying dull ache. I didn't do too much today, just my daily chores. I'm hoping to head out to the stores tomorrow and pick up some more Christmas gifts.

Good evening, MMC!

It has been a pretty good day here. My brother and I celebrated his birthday by eating out and watching some movies. "Young Pioneers" just finished and it looks like another movie is already running. A Western with William Shatner - that ought to be interesting.

There is snow on the ground, too! I did a quick check of the radar and MI is looking extremely blue yet they are only forecasting a dusting to an inch of accumulation.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a cold day here with a high in the lower 20's. Then tomorrow the real cold hits and we won't get past the lower teens. Not a whole lot going on for me today. Just my same daily chores and then I want to finish wrapping. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

It was a little slick this morning, but the icy mix should be changing to all rain before the day is over. I heard something about snow tomorrow; I'll have to keep an eye on that.

Woo hoo! I love trees. I hope that the roads are safe for your drive home - be careful! We had some freezing rain here this afternoon.

Good morning everyone!

We're nearly into the double digits of December. Hard to believe, isn't it? It was a quiet morning in terms of potential supply work. No real calls. I'm hoping for something tomorrow! At least this day off will allow me to do some laundry and a few things around the apartment.

Yesterday was nearly an all around good day. First, the Packers finally won and shed their embarrassing losing streak. Shortly after, I saw a friend from high school win the "Roar of the Rings" curling championships on national television (TSN). I actually know three of the four curlers on his team, too. Anyway, the win has qualified them to be Team Canada at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. So happy for them!

Unfortunately, we didn't win our hockey game last night, but we were completely outmatched and played horribly. It was still nice to compete and get on the ice.

Of course, yesterday was also quite enjoyable thanks to the World's Largest Christmas Party! I enjoyed chatting with some of you on the christmas chatter website and listening to Jay on MCR! I'm already excited for next year. But, until then, we still have so much more to experience this 2013 Christmas Season!

If you want to talk about embarrassing football, just look at the Steelers. They completely fell apart this year! That is awesome for your friend and his team - what an accomplishment! Good morning!
We got about an inch of snow last night before it turned over to rain and washed it away. We still have a light rain falling and will have a high of 45 degrees.
I am feeling better today. The migraine is gone and my head feels clear. It was a doozy, I didn't get much done yesterday. I'm hoping to make up for it today. I got some laundry done and started Italian Meatball Soup in the crock pot for dinner. My husband had more sanding to do last night and there is dust every where. I'm not even going to bother wasting my time cleaning it. I have better things to do, lots of Christmassy things to do! He's just going to make a mess again later anyway. I'm heading to the mall, there's more shopping to do. I can't wait until I finish shopping. I'm looking forward to staying in, playing Christmas music and wrapping gifts. I love wrapping gifts! Well I better head out and get some things done.

I am glad to hear that you are feeling better today! Italian meatball soup sounds delicious. Italian food is my favorite! Ugh, I know how it goes with the messy sanding. We just went through that a while ago when my dad redid a room in our house. I wish that I loved wrapping gifts! I am so terrible at it that it just makes me frustrated! Have a good day!!

Christmas tree in the office is up and lighted! (I didn't get to assemble it ... I was working on a job.) Decorations to come. It's fun to see the reactions of co-workers seeing it for the first time---surprise and delight!

It is very cold and grey out today - a good day to be inside working on paperwork. Yay - that is what I am doing! A bit later I get to do some research and then chores await me this evening. All in all, a good and busy day!

I am NOT a happy Christmas elf today. Yesterday was the day we FINALLY got to do our tree. After the online party I started on the lights waiting for my son to get home so we could decorate. We have about 1400 lights on our tree. 400 multi-function white lights and then 1,000 multi-colored.

Last year I bought all new multi-colored lights. I noticed my old ones were dimming so before putting them on the tree last year, I went out and bought 1,000 new ones. Good quality ones too. They were all lit and beautiful last year when we took the tree down, and this year - 3 of the 5 sets are not functioning at all. I went through all 600 of the little bulbs and all 6 fuses. Nothing, nada, zilch, no twinkle

So I put on the white lights since they go on first and added on the two sets of colored lights that were working. Today I have to go... out there.... and buy more lights so we can finish decorating. Grrrr!!!

What happened to the days when a set of lights worked for years? My dad had the same set of lights on the tree for almost 10 years. I was with him when he bought them when I was 8. He replaced them the year after I graduated high school. LOL He bought new ones and two years later - needed to replace some of those. Ridiculous.

Oh well. Noah said, "I think it still looks beautiful Mom. We could just leave it as it is!" Love that kid.

Awww, Noah is so sweet! I am sorry about the lights. I am terrified that ours are going to go out. We usually buy new ones every year because they just don't last like they used to! We have a couple of lights out on the tree and I am hoping and praying that the strands don't go out. We have so many ornaments and garland on the tree so it would be a mess to replace!! Good evening everyone! How was your day? :] Mine turned out to be incredibly good because the fact that my cousin finally became a dad made my day! His wife gave birth to a wonderful baby girl early this morning. I'm very VERY happy for them! ^^ I hope to go to Norway sometime to visit them. :]

Thank you! The word has gone out for employees to bring in decorations. So far the only ornament besides the lights is a pig with wings. It'll be fun to see the decorations "blossom" little by little. I'll have to see what leftovers I have from home to contribute.

I bet it looks beautiful when it is done and will have some great stories behind it!!
