Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's freezing here. It's 3 degree's right now with a wind chill of -9. The high is only going to get to 13 and the wind chill will probably stay below zero all day. So needless to say, I'll be staying inside. I have some work to do on the computer but right now, I'm just sitting here sipping on my coffee and watching Miracle on 34th street. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

In theory it should have been a simple day. I went to the car dealership that rents my husband's vehicle to him for the tour and renewed his contract till he returns. Then I drove back to Lakeland to Michael's craft store to buy new icicle lights which supposedly we're 70 percent off. By the time I got there they were sold out. I then went to 7 more stores all of which were either overpriced or sold out. I'll try again in the morning.

I got back to the house and was ready to get to work decorating and making presents when my mother in law called and asked me to come down to her house with my laptop to help her. While she was in New Orleans visiting her daughter her wallet was stolen. She found out that they ran up to charges on her debit card, credit card, Sears charge card, as well as the credit card of the elderly woman for whom she is a private duty home health care nurse. She was told to keep the card in order to buy groceries and household supplies for the patient. When they stole her wallet they also obviously got her drivers license, and her Social Security card. I spent the afternoon down there with my laptop trying to fix everything for her and order new cards and replace everything.

By the time I got back to my house I decided the only intelligent thing to do was sit in front of the Christmas tree with some hot chocolate and watch Home Alone, and Home Alone 2.

I'm so sorry to hear this happened to your MIL. That had to be horrible. Hopefully everything gets worked out. Hope your day in the end, ended well.

Good morning!
Just 12 days to Christmas Eve!
Can someone please freeze the time??

Im so happy we put the Christmas tree up on Tuesday! Finally!!!!
:???:Hope everyone is doing fine!!! Have a fabulous day!¢¾

So great to hear from you, Solice! How are you liking the new house? How is your daughter feeling? I've been thinking of you guys and praying for you as well.

Happy to hear you're enjoying having the tree up!

Good morning!
It is chilly here this morning, we have temperatures in the upper teens and we will have a high of 27 degrees today. I'm debating if I should walk the dogs or not. This is a little too cold for them, even with their little jackets on.
I'm using my crock pot again today, I just threw together chicken cacciatore. It has been a huge help lately since I have been so busy getting ready for Christmas. I am going to shop til I drop again today. I hope I finish. I need to start wrapping. I have been buying gifts and shoving them in my bedroom closet. It's going to take me awhile to organize all of it and wrap everything.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Dinner sounds great!!! When should we be there?

Have fun shopping again!!!!

Good luck finding the icicle lights!
I'm sorry to hear about your mother in law's wallet, what a nightmare. When I was in Kohls the other day a young mother was there with her toddler and her wallet had been stolen right out of the shopping cart. She was holding her baby and walked a few feet away from the cart to look at something. When she turned back around the wallet was gone. She was hysterical, I felt so bad for her.
I hope you had a relaxing evening!

That's horrible. People are so desperate, especially at this time of the year.

Hey Made! Do you happen to live close to any of the Great Lakes? Do you ever get any of the Lake effect snow showers of the Lakes? I stink at geography for the most part..You are getting colder and more snow than me I think! We have a foot on the ground from last week but it has been clear since last Friday night. Of course the temps have stayed below freezing but we have not hit 0F yet. I think 7F was out lowest yesterday morning!

Just getting settled at work. Counting down the seconds until Christmas break starts for me. it will start next weds the 18th. I will go back in the New Year on the 6th(mon) I look forward to spending 2 weeks at home with my family. I give up vacation time in spring and summer so I kind of hoard it all for October and December as much as I am allowed too. Anyways Brandi has decided she wants to go back to teaching next year and she wants to teach in a private catholic school setting and she already has interviews set up in Jan. She wants the boys in preschool already...by next Fall they will be almost 2 and 3. I guess it's never too early to start educating oneself huh?(I am the prime example of the consequence of not starting at all;) all joking aside I hope they do good in school and I hope Brandi will like her new teaching job if she gets the position. I just can't believe we are already talking about school for them!!!
Oh I better get busy...I am sipping new peppermint tea I found at the local grocery this morning.. it has taken me forever to find this particular brand!!! I love peppermint tea!! Have a good morning everyone!

Good Luck to Brandi!!! Praying the interviews go well!!!

I'm sure the boys will do great in school!!!!

Good morning Xmas buddies! We are getting so close it's downright scary! Just 2 weeks now. I just wish time would stop or at the very least slow down a tad! I have had the house to myself all week but my family is coming back to town tomorrow night. I have missed them so much these past 9 days. I have been snow boarding all week at Solitude Mtn Resort here in town. It's a ghost town during the week, just me and a few others on the slopes until it should start getting more crowded as the winter breaks gets closer... and with a vertical drop of 1200ft it has the best runs that I know of...I am still getting use to the resorts out here, of course they are nothing at all like the small ones back in the southeast. The ones there do an awesome job though given the warmer conditions. Right now we are 12F and suppose to get up to 25F this afternoon. We still have a foot of snow on the ground and Friday afternoon we have a slight chance of a few snow showers. By sat we are going to get up to 35F so we may see some snow melt. But no other chances in the next week except for Friday. Well I better get going. I hope everyone has a glorious day today!!!

Praying for safe travels for Brandi and the boys!

That is my favorite version of "A Christmas Carol." George C. Scott looks like Scrooge to me.

It's a beautiful production with great performances! I enjoy it when the Ghost of Christmas Present tells Scrooge off. George C. Scott's interpretation of Scrooge is kinda unorthodox and unique, with his dry, humorless laughter and cold smile. I prefer other actors' characterizations, but Scott sure does look like Scrooge.

Something in that screenplay has always bothered me. Is Fan supposed to be older or younger than Ebenezer? She looks as though she could be younger, yet she refers to "our dear mother's sake"---if they had the same mother, and she died giving birth to Ebenezer (according to the dialogue), Fan must be older. The same question arises in Noel Langley's screenplay for the Alastair Sim version. Perhaps Fan is an older sister who helped to take the place of Ebenezer's deceased mother. Both go against Dickens, who portrays Fan as a very little girl. (The "died in childbirth" angle was created by Langley, not Dickens.)

I'm about 175 miles south of Lake Michigan. So we don't get to much lake effect. Now my neighbors son lives right up by south bend and he has gotten several feet of snow already from lake effect.

Good luck to Brandi! I believe you guys are making a very wise decision with the boys. DS is just 2 1/2, which he goes to daycare, but they do a structured program there, teaching them things as well. He will start Preschool in the fall. He already knows his ABC's, can count to 20 (there are days when his sister counts with him, he counts higher!), most of his colors, and shapes. EA is in pre-K an will start Kindergarten still this coming year, in September, just shy of her 5th birthday. I believe it's because we started them early. I must say, I'm a proud mother! You guys are great parents and it sounds like you're doing a wonderful job!

"Well, a man's got to do SOMETHING to keep warm!" You've found a good way to do it!

Yep I looked online and towns all along the lakes are getting pummeled with snow. Like with feet not inches. I guess this winter it looks like the upper Midwest and us in the inner mtn west are going to be pretty cold and get a lot of snow. So far this winter in my back yard we have received 15.5 inches of snow. Our friends that have lived here a long time says that is about average so far. I guess it's going to be a long winter!! I say bring it on.lol

Continued cold here---the weather's more like January or February than December. Sounds like we're supposed to get a storm with several inches of snow from Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning. I'm hoping to turn on the tree lights so I can watch the tree and the snow at the same time!

I forgot to tell you about something great I saw here at the office. You know the apps that show a cozy fire on your cellphone. One guy built a miniature fireplace (complete with Christmas decorations) to hold the cellphone in place while the fireplace app runs. If someone sold those, I'd buy one in an instant! He hung it on the office Christmas tree (without the cellphone, of course).

Speaking of the office tree ... someone quietly removed "the finger," and the guy who hung it up in the first place keeps grousing about its removal. Well, it really wouldn't be appropriate for visiting clients to see that! (It was a paper cutout of the gesture, with a ribbon tied around the middle finger. I'm glad it's gone.)

Good morning, MMC family! Busy day here! Getting ready to go grocery shopping, hopefully do the last of my Christmas shopping today, get lunch while we're out, then come and do more wrapping.

What is everyone's plans for today? I hope you all have a great day! I'm thinking of you all. I'll check back in later. God Bless and keep smiling!

Hope you slept well last night Made!

Thanks, Buddy!!! I slept great for about 4 hours. Then I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep.

Good luck finding the icicle lights!

I truly don't know what is wrong with people. You really just can't take your eye's off of your wallet or purse anymore.

Thanks for that! it sounds like you are doing an awesome job yourself! Honestly I let brandi take the lead in decision making with the boys, in other words she wears the pants in the family!:) and honestly I like it like that, I trust she knows more than I do about certain things. It works out for us that way. cheesy
