Yes they did. I was living in TX at the time but the area I live in now got over a foot. What I hope for is a repeat of the winter 'storm of the century' in March of 1993. We go over 3 feet then. That would be great. Since our county doesn't scrape the roads out where I live, we would be stuck on the mountain for a while. Could just set by the fire and eat snow cream.

That is so weird to me. Everyone I know remembers the 1993 storm of the century...I was just in the wrong place because all I remember from March 1993 was bad thunderstorms around noon time and mild temps around 75F then it started hailing big stones too...then a few minutes later we had flurries and the temps dropped to 30F in just an hour or 2. It was amazingly weird! It all happened so fast I did not really get to enjoy it. PPL in North Ga,upstate SC and NC got lucky with the snow. All I remember is the Christmas 1989 storm.

Good morning! (almost afternoon!)

I am hoping to catch up on posts, but just incase I run out of time, I wanted to say what an awesome, incredible, unbelievable, amazing WOW TSO show we saw last night!! They never cease to amaze!! They are doing "The Lost Christmas Eve" this year, which I have never seen before. I think last year was the 1st year for it & this year is the last, so I am really glad we went. They are just amazing! I'm still in awe!!! Hard to imagine how they make all that happen - but to make that all happen for just 1 show - the set up, the tear down, the travel & on to the next. Unbelievable!!! :-D

When I woke up this morning the digital thermometer at our house said 0º & the wired thermometer said -2º! :cold: It was a bitter walk back to our car after the concert last night too. That wind...

They are still calling 3-6" of snow for tomorrow night/Saturday! :snowball:

Hope you are all having a great day!

I'm jealous. Would love your weather.

My mom is even worse today. Still a low-grade fever, but it got up to 100. She is tired, her head feels foggy, she's cold, not hungry, and just doesn't feel right. She called the doctor but they aren't in until next week. We also called her specialist because she is supposed to watch when she has low-grade fevers. They didn't send in for blood tests or anything. We thought if it was a virus that something else would be bothering her by now - stomach, head, throat, anything...but nope. We start our Christmas baking soon so she needs to get better! Ugh!

Sending up prayers for your Mom. There is a lot of that kind of stuff going around here. Chills, fever, no energy - I hope it's just a virus that runs it's course quick & she is back to 100%

I got a date with a book , goodnight !
Please keep my brother in your prayers tonight, he drives truck, is just outside Winnipeg and it is -39c . Says he cannot keep inside of cab warm but he has to sleep in there tonight.

Your brother is in my prayers, Christmasstar!

Dawg: She should be fine tomorrow, but they're calling for snow Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning, so that could get dicey. Keep an eye on NWS or AccuWeather for Boston and surrounding areas. Delays at other airports could have a domino effect on Logan.

And yeah---those runways are awful close to the ocean!

I just got off the phone with the wife and she is leaving Boston (logan airport) in the morning. I just hope the weather will cooperate! That airport is the scariest airport ever..I don't know why but every time I take off or land in Boston my stomach is in my throat! I think it's because all of the water in the bay right off the runway, then the wind is usually up and then in winter....well we all know what happens in Boston in winter! Any posters here that live up that way think flights will be affected tomorrow because of the weather?

An odd day at work ... between jobs I'm crocheting, with the supervisor's blessing! She wants me to make more ornaments.

Thanks to everyone for their well-wishes and prayers to my friend (and future roommate) Cassie's mother. Cassie's mom past away last night after a long battle with cancer. Both of her daughters, Cassie and Kristyn, and her life partner were by her bedside. It's tough - especially for me - to imagine the physical and emotional suffering Cassie is going through right now. Obviously, this time of year is something we all celebrate and cherish, and I can only hope that she can be strong during this Season and wish her and her family nothing but the best.

Again, thank you very much to everyone here. Your constant compassion is just another reason why I know that MMC has the best people on the internet and why I am truly grateful that you all are only a few clicks away. Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Cassie, Kristyn and their families are in my prayers.

In theory it should have been a simple day. I went to the car dealership that rents my husband's vehicle to him for the tour and renewed his contract till he returns. Then I drove back to Lakeland to Michael's craft store to buy new icicle lights which supposedly we're 70 percent off. By the time I got there they were sold out. I then went to 7 more stores all of which were either overpriced or sold out. I'll try again in the morning.

I got back to the house and was ready to get to work decorating and making presents when my mother in law called and asked me to come down to her house with my laptop to help her. While she was in New Orleans visiting her daughter her wallet was stolen. She found out that they ran up to charges on her debit card, credit card, Sears charge card, as well as the credit card of the elderly woman for whom she is a private duty home health care nurse. She was told to keep the card in order to buy groceries and household supplies for the patient. When they stole her wallet they also obviously got her drivers license, and her Social Security card. I spent the afternoon down there with my laptop trying to fix everything for her and order new cards and replace everything.

By the time I got back to my house I decided the only intelligent thing to do was sit in front of the Christmas tree with some hot chocolate and watch Home Alone, and Home Alone 2.

My goodness that would be a stressful thing to have happen - glad you were able to help your MIL out! I hope you are able to find the lights you want today and that the day is far better for both you and your MIL!

Good morning!
Just 12 days to Christmas Eve!
Can someone please freeze the time??

Im so happy we put the Christmas tree up on Tuesday! Finally!!!!
:???:Hope everyone is doing fine!!! Have a fabulous day!

Good afternoon, Solice! I'm glad you have your tree up. Have a MERRY day!! {{{HUGS}}}

Yep I looked online and towns all along the lakes are getting pummeled with snow. Like with feet not inches. I guess this winter it looks like the upper Midwest and us in the inner mtn west are going to be pretty cold and get a lot of snow. So far this winter in my back yard we have received 15.5 inches of snow. Our friends that have lived here a long time says that is about average so far. I guess it's going to be a long winter!! I say bring it on.lol

I'm glad you enjoy snow so much! Good luck to Brandi with the job interviews!

Good morning all. Sorry I've been away so much. I'm afraid I'm too far behind to even attempt to catch up on the posts. Having Thanksgiving and now Christmas season without mom has been difficult. On a positive note, it has also led us to focus more on the true meaning of Christmas as we the celebrate the indescribable gift we have been given. We are trying to make it a much more Jesus centered Christmas.

Next Tuesday 17th with be my last work day until Jan 2nd as the college shuts down for Christmas break. I'm really looking forward to the break. Just wish we had gabulldawg's weather. As many of you know, I love snow and cold weather. It was 19 this morning when I left for work but we are expecting a much too warm high of 43 today.

Have a blessed day everyone.

You and your family are still in my prayers. I hope you have a blessed day, too!

Hello, Christmas family! I haven't been able to find the time to catch up the past couple of days. Things have been so busy here! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for my mom! She still has the low-grade fever. Yesterday she was able to go get a couple of blood tests done, but she won't get her results until Monday when the doctor is back in. Of course, when you look up her symptoms online, it lists things like leukemia, which has her even more worried.

It is a toasty 10 degrees outside right now. I have to go run and start my car before heading out. I have a doctor appointment of my own, nothing major and no need to worry. We are going to have to run for groceries either tonight or tomorrow. We are expected to get somewhere between 4-6 inches of snow this weekend. The meteorologists have been wrong all season, so who knows! Maybe we'll get a blizzard or nothing at all.

I have to run but I am going to try my best to catch up when I get home this afternoon!

I'm still praying for your mom! {{{HUGS}}}

Sounds like a fun day at work - enjoy!!!

Good afternoon, Christmas Family!

Busy day here. I am feeling a bit blah but at least I do not have a headache - I think the cold weather is getting to me. Last night Palmer and I watched Secret Santa - love, love, love that movie! Time to get back to work.

Be safe, warm and MERRY!!!
