Good afternoon, Christmas Family!

Busy day here. I am feeling a bit blah but at least I do not have a headache - I think the cold weather is getting to me. Last night Palmer and I watched Secret Santa - love, love, love that movie! Time to get back to work.

Be safe, warm and MERRY!!!

Hope you feel better soon!

Jennifer- Still praying for your mom. I try to never look up symptoms online. It will always scare you.

Holiday- Glad you had a great time at the concert!!!! Your weather sounds pretty much identical to here.

Meceka- Stay warm friend and I hope you start feeling better soon!!!

Snowflake- Hope you are having a good day at work!! If you get here real quick after work, we can go see TSO. They are here tonight!!

Why didn't you say something? We could have all went together and it could have been a big party!!!

Sounds fun!!! I say have the kids help!!!

DS did scribble on one of the envelopes when he got home today. I should send that one to you!!! :)

Good evening everyone!

Dinner is in the oven. Trapped In Paradise is on the TV. It should be a great night! Had a decent day supplying. Hoping to receive a call for tomorrow anytime tonight.

Very excited to watch Trapped In Paradise for the first time this year. It's a Christmas classic and tradition in my collection. The movie really doesn't get much praise - and doesn't really deserve it - but I highly enjoy the chemistry of Nicholas Cage, Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz. Even after 20 years I still laugh!

I hope everyone has been enjoying their Thursday. We're closing in on the mid-way point of Christmas... and today does mark the halfway point of December between the first and Christmas Day! In such case, I hope everything is going well. Merry Christmas!

Hey Made! Do you happen to live close to any of the Great Lakes? Do you ever get any of the Lake effect snow showers of the Lakes? I stink at geography for the most part..You are getting colder and more snow than me I think! We have a foot on the ground from last week but it has been clear since last Friday night. Of course the temps have stayed below freezing but we have not hit 0F yet. I think 7F was out lowest yesterday morning!
we get lake effect snow all the time, been in the middle of it for a couple of days now, and will continue to get until Sunday. It is -11c (12f) and windy now.

Does the lake you live closest to freeze all the way over in the winter? I have often thought to make a huge lake with great depth freeze over it would have to be brutally cold! I have seen pics of some of the great lakes and they looked frozen, like in Chicago.I know I am a nerd when it comes to the weather and stuff like that.lol

Just getting home and fed the dogs...Now I am about to feed myself. I am eating a chili dog from this great little mom and pop restaurant near work. For 6 bucks you get a chili dog, double cheeseburger, apple pie and a drink! I know this is wrecking my work outs and diet BUT it's the Holidays I will face the consequences in January! Now if yall will excuse me I have some calories to ingest! Have a great night everyone!

Goodnight, MMC buddies!

It's a beautiful production with great performances! I enjoy it when the Ghost of Christmas Present tells Scrooge off. George C. Scott's interpretation of Scrooge is kinda unorthodox and unique, with his dry, humorless laughter and cold smile. I prefer other actors' characterizations, but Scott sure does look like Scrooge.

Something in that screenplay has always bothered me. Is Fan supposed to be older or younger than Ebenezer? She looks as though she could be younger, yet she refers to "our dear mother's sake"---if they had the same mother, and she died giving birth to Ebenezer (according to the dialogue), Fan must be older. The same question arises in Noel Langley's screenplay for the Alastair Sim version. Perhaps Fan is an older sister who helped to take the place of Ebenezer's deceased mother. Both go against Dickens, who portrays Fan as a very little girl. (The "died in childbirth" angle was created by Langley, not Dickens.)

If you want to read an interesting take on the Fan, Ebenezer relationship, you should read "Jacob T. Marley" by R. William Bennett. I just finished reading it yesterday, and I really enjoyed it.
