Hello folks. Hope you all have a great New Year's Eve! What is everyone doing to close out the holiday season and 2013?

Made, how did jury duty turn out?

I didn't get selected. They dismissed me because I had to take mom to the doctor's on Thursday and Friday and couldn't be there for any of the trials that were left when they got to me.

Well, we are done. Took all the decorations down while there was free time. Looks clean, but empty.

But one of the wise gender-neutrals has saying that Christmas is either here or on the way...so here it comes.

Going to do a little work tomorrow and then to a ballgame, then home to do more work. New Year's Day will see me rearrange the garage and get everything cleaned up and put away....plus I will probably watch some football.

However, I won't be watching the Cowboys.

Dang Cowboys.

Last day of the year---I'm always a bit wistful about seeing the end of a year that has been good to us, and a little apprehensive about the unforeseen in the New Year. The happy thing is that the unforeseen can mean good surprises as well as bad ones.

One of the best things about 2014 that is NOT a surprise is that there will be a new Countdown thread where I can visit you all throughout the year.

I won't be here at the stroke of midnight---I'll be spending it with Mr.---but I may be able to look in after the New Year comes in, and I'll probably check in again during the afternoon and evening.

I'll be packing up my office decorations and taking them home today. The decorations at home will slowly find their way back into their boxes over the next few days.

Yeah, I don't have the attention span to sit through a long or even a short boring trial. If they would have had something other than drug cases or robberies, I might have tried a little harder to get on one.

Permanent lock-down will occur at midnight tonight.

And what a run it has been!
We not only bettered last year's record, we shattered it!

What will 2014 be like?
Well, if all the past years can be our guide, it will surely be another record-setter!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

As our list of Countdown friends grows, we see many around the world who live in different time zones. It's funny to see some posting that they're already in 2014! How cool!

I usually have NY Eve and NY Day off, but the company changed policy. Now we have to work NY Eve. I wouldn't be doing anything but watching TV, anyway.

Hopefully, we'll have an oyster roast at Bernie's tonight. Love those roasted oysters!
