Christmas Countdown - 2014

Looks like the weather channel is now saying 3-5" for my area, but for everyone North of me, look out, I believe you guys are going to get whomped from this storm with some snowfall amounts exceeding 12-18" of snow....:-D

I really want to get whomped with a big snow, I just want my wife and kids with me through the rest of my vacation.

Also, to get a picture of my outdoor lights in the snow.

PCB's have come again for me, but I will try my best to fight them off!

I have plenty of Christmas movies to watch, and always spend everyday here with you guys! Doesn't get much better than that!!

One of my resolutions is to try to post at least once on MMC every single day. Why? I love this place and to me, it's not about just being here around Christmas-time. I like to keep in touch with you all because we've grown to be good friends. I like to see how everyone is doing, how everyone is feeling, and what's new with you and your families.

I am going to try my absolute best to keep my resolution. There are 1,440 minutes in a day - there is no excuse as to why I can't spend at least 5-10 minutes on here every day! ♥

I have been applying for jobs like crazy the past week or so. It's so nervewracking! I have received a lot of emails for positions that I am not interested in. I guess it's going to take some time and patience, that's for sure! I applied for two I am really interested in at the end of last week. I don't think I will hear back until late this week or next week (if at all) because of New Years Eve/New Years Day.

You all have been chatty! Off to catch up on 27 pages - lol!

Happy New Year, Jennifer! It would be great if you could stop in here every day!!! Best of luck with your job search - I hope you get a call from the companies that interested you!

Good morning!
I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Years Eve!
My oldest had an opening shift this morning so we woke up early. My other two will be going in to work later this afternoon. Not too much planned for me. I am feeling a bit down today. I'm still trying to get my house in order so that will keep me busy. And I have to see how much snow we have heading our way, I may run to the supermarket for a few things.

UN-decorating is going very slow, no one here is very enthusiastic about it.
Decorations and lights are off the tree, the top is off but that is as far as we got.

I agree!!!! I have a few flame less candles that will come out to help with it some but I really need to find some more things to kind of help keep the magic alive!!




Okay, I say we all band together and start a new trend!!!!!

I have twinkle lights out somewhere in the house or porch all year round. It's too depressing without something. I put them in spring garlands and summer wreaths and such.

Just love it!!

Thank you! Great idea!!! Between dvr & dvd's I would have enough to get me to spring! Lol! I'm getting REALLY sad now - watching the last 16 minutes of Christmas movies on Hallmark.

Can never bring myself to watch the "last" Christmas special of the season, the last song on the radio of the season and so on, that really brings me down. At least you have your Christmas family here. cheesy

Believe it or not my dad was born on Christmas Day and Mum New Years Day, so we took her out for a nice lunch! Was fantastic!

Hey Sugar, Happy New Year! Thank you for asking.

We are all in, unpacking and trying to figure out what looks good where, moving furniture around, etc.... We love the house...last night, it was just the wife and I at home and I asked her if she was happy and did she have any regrets. She told me hat she was very happy and she has no regrets. For me, I just love the new place. It's like an adventure, everything is new, new surroundings, new ways of doing things, etc....

I have so many ideas running thru my head about what I want to do with the garage, the out buildings, the property and things in the house. I'm excited about it all, and as a matter of fact, I'm getting ready to leave work now so that I can get back home and get into things...

We are up to 3 to 5 inches too and instead of starting tomorrow night into friday morning, it's going to move in tonight.

I'd like to do that, too, but I do not have something that will digitize. What do you recommend?

My son has a Crosby system. It looks old school 1940s, but plays 33s, 45s, CDs, mp3s and has a line in for anything else you might have. Burns any of the inputs to CD.

For Christmas, I found an original 45 of the first song my grandfather ever played for my father on which my grandfather was a back up musician. He told me about the song for years. It took me years but I found that 45 in the jacket in immaculate condition. I burned both sides of the record to a CD so my dad could listen, but preserve the record. That system did it wonderfully.

I know there are many out there, but I'm partial to the old time look of the Crosby.

Walked Fox the dog around the neighborhood this morning and was pleased to see about 95 percent of the homes that decorated still had theirs up.
Gave me a good feeling!

(But will make me feel a but guilty about starting to take ours down tomorrow.)

My resolution this new year will be to be the last person in town to have his Christmas lights up and on. cheesy (jk) Just one more week for me

If we are doing the member shows again this year, I think I might join in the fun. I have some fun and obscure stuff that I could pick through.
My shyness may keep me from doing it in the end though. Who knows, it is a wee bit early at this point.

Crown, I walked this morning and only saw ONE tree on the curb in my whole neighborhood! HOORAY!

The tree carcass on the side of the road is one of my least favorite sites after the holidays. Glad it is only one.
