My husband just walked in the kitchen, started laughing and said, "You need to take a picture of that corner you're sitting in right now and post it. That about sums you up in an image."

I looked around because I was eating a small snack size package of left over Halloween pretzels, drinking from my favorite gray wolf coffee mug on which the wolf is laying in snow, had just brewed some Mistletoe Peppermint coffee and there was a cute Swiss Colony Christmas tin sitting there I was saving for next Christmas' gifts of cookies or truffles. All of which was in front of my VitaMix and KitchenAid mixer where I basically live.

Oh i wish we had coffees like that here. I might have to order some online. I managed to get Maple infused coffee and my son smells it as he comes in everytime and he doesn't drink hot coffee so cannot figure where that tantalising smell is coming from. I think i'll leave some in the house all the time!! But then I'll want to drink it!! Oh the dilemma!!

It's starting to get real here. Wooohoooo!
2 schools have already canceled the next 2 days, not our town yet though.

Good to see you, Jennifer!

Xmas365, Snowflake and Homemakingirl... I hope your moods improve real soon. I still feel decent. PCB's haven't hit me too bad.

(I am still catching up so not sure I covered all who is suffering but wishing you well too!)

JingleBellJames, Happy Birthday to your parents! What a treat to have them have birthdays on those days!

I am not usually a fan of New Years Day but I must say this is one has been a nice one!

Snow-in-Texas first went to my job. We are closed today but we went in to feed the animals. From there we went to the lake to ride our bikes and feed the ducks. The weather has been very mild today but will get chilly tomorrow. Our tradition on New Years Day is to take down our outdoor Christmas lights and my son helps. We always go out to lunch together afterward. To our surprise, as we pulled up in the driveway, my son was taking down the last strand of lights off the house! He didn't even wait on us, he did it by himself. I was thrilled because it slightly depresses me to do it so he saved me from that! We unloaded the bikes, cleaned up and went out to lunch. Then headed over to Starbucks for coffee. We are just relaxing now.

The indoor decorations will stay up awhile longer. I will take it down when I am ready. Maybe just keep them up until Christmas in July! Does that sound like a plan? What do you think? cheesy

I say leave 'me up! :)

shh... im at work hoping no one walks behind me while i try to keep up with you guys!!!

so please 4giv puntuwation and speeling

I won't tell! :)

MerryCarey, I keep a little Christmas out all year long too. I will have at least 3 little things around, Santa, Snowman, Snowglobe or something. I noticed when my uncle passed away we had to go through his house and his belongings. He had little trinkets of Christmas spread around the house as well! It wasn't tacky looking, it blended in well with his decor and looked nice! I had no idea he did that too!

Undrtaker, great pictures!!!

Brent, so good to see you!!!

.

Maureen,
said it already and will say it again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Happy New Year dear friends! May all your dreams and wishes come true. I hope that 2014 brings us good health, contentment, love, friendship and strength when we need it.

It was a quiet New year's eve for us, just how we wanted it. We stayed in and just chilled out home. We counted down the final seconds with Jools Holland on TV and at midnight we opened the front door to let the new year in as we do every year. Some of the neighbours were out so we exchanged best wishes and looked at some fireworks going off.

I woke up this morning somewhat deflated, always the way this time of year as you all know. I am so glad you all are here!!!
I have just listened to my Christmas playlist for probably the last time. My decorations will come down this weekend. Another year over. The Christmas movie channel will soon stop :( You know it doesn't feel that long ago since Halloween and everything was only just starting!!!! It's been a good Christmas though, I am so grateful for everything.

I know what you mean! I don't want any of this to come to an end but it will be here before you know it!

Happy New Year my dear friends!!!!

You enjoy yours too!!!

Happy New Year! Today Ill take down our outside lights. It will take some time. We use 30 strands of 66ft. lights for the house. Plus the fence an arch way and three mega trees I built. Its kind of a tradition to take down the lights, count to see what we need for next year and make notes of what we want to do for the next Christmas. Then later in the evening we go back up in the attic and make a note that says "See boys I told you it would be here before you know it" we put the days hours and minutes and seconds until the next christmas on the note as well as the number of days until we will put it up again. We then put the note in the tree tote with notes from years past. The tradition started years ago when my oldest son said that Christmas decorations are like a time capsule. It always makes us smile when we open the tote on Thanksgiving day to put the tree up, to see the notes. After all this is done today I will get to enjoy one of my newer traditions for the second time. Entering the milestones in my calendar :)

Great idea!

Happy New Year my Christmas Family.

That sounds like fun. Would it work if i participated from a different time zone?

Absolutely - we're all in different time zones - I'm in Scotland; Jeff and Co. are dotted about the US all in different time zones and yet it all comes together beautifully!!!!

Meceka, I might have to get with you sometime on canning veggies and more! I would love to start doing that. It will be later on if I can successfully grow a garden! Gardening here will start in late January starting with onions and potatoes.

It was superb - I was let down by technology but today, of all days, Jeff and I got my glitch sorted so I'll be transferring all my stuff over shortly to be used whenever needed.

It was an inspired idea and worked REALLY well!!!!!

I'm so glad the glitches got worked out - better late than never! If a special hour or so is set up for your stuff, let us know when it is!
