Good morning MMC :-D

Like I mentioned earlier we are supposed to reach a high of 30 degrees today. We are currently at 20 degrees. The sun is out and I decided to bundle up and walk the dogs. I haven't walked them in days because of the frigid temperatures. It's still a bit cold out there, by the time I got back home my nose had turned red

Not too much going on here. I'm heading out to run a few errands in a little while. Then back home to get some chores finished. I'm hoping to take it easy later this afternoon, I woke up extra early this morning and I am kind of dragging my feet. My daughter started a new job at Aldi this morning. She found out the store that she was working in at the outlets will be closing in a few months so she started to look for something new. She was hired by Aldi rather quickly, I hope she likes it!

I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Keep warm! :cold:

Glad to hear you're warming up there as well! I bet Molly and Maggie were happy to be back out. Hope you're daughter loves her new job. Aldi - is that the grocery store? I googled it. They just opened one here in the last year/two here. I never been in the one here.

Good Morning; How is everyone on this glorious Thursday morning? I had a very early rise this morning (4:15am) to get up and head to work (had to make up some time).

Funny thing has occurred since we have moved (about 50 miles away from our previous address) and since we have, we have had a kid(s) (ages 19-21) from our old neighborhood at the house almost everyday since we left. Last night for instance, we had 5 of them there. They're following us....lol!

Lisa and just sort curled up on the couch together, later on in the evening in front of the fireplace sort of getting a chuckle out of all of it. Here we are, moved away and they're driving 50 miles just to come and hang out with us and our kids. We bought them all Pizza and subs and let them spend the night if they wanted to. We just sort of feel good that they like us that much and still want to be around us....They come in the door, run over to us, hug us and sit around and talk to us for awhile, makes us feel like we are doing something right~

That is wonderful, xmastidings. They must miss you all very much! Bless your heart for caring so much.

Good morning all. Today I'm off to conflict mediation training. I'll be there tomorrow, then I have to do ten hours of conflict counseling while under supervision. After that, I can apply for my certification. My agency is paying for it all, and I think it will look good on my resume so I'm excited about it. But I may not be on today as much. So, I wish everyone a great Thursday!

That is awesome, good for you!

Hope the training goes well, Ryan!

Good morning all. Temp was a cool 18 when I left for work this morning. Sadly temps will be in the 50s this weekend. At least this will give the folks around here a chance to thaw/repair their water lines. Many folks in our area use spring water and their lines froze in the sub-zero temps. We have a well and were fortunate to avoid the frozen water lines. Hopefully winter weather will return soon.

Our son's girlfriend heads back to college Monday. He will be heartsick for a while but we have to get busy applying for college scholarships for him. January 30 will be a big day for us as he starts the interview process for a full scholarship at Gardner Webb University.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Thinking of your son, and wishing him the best of luck! Hope all goes well with the interview process. I'll keep him in my prayers.

I didn't get a chance to post this yesterday when everyone was celebrating Elvis's birthday. Gloria Jean told us a personal story about Elvis Presley. She was working on a film at Paramount in 1961 at the same time Elvis was working on "Blue Hawaii." Gloria was having lunch with some other girls who were in the movie she was in, and Elvis came to their table and talked to Gloria. He said he wanted to do a film with her, because he thought their voices together would be dynamite. Meanwhile, the other girls at the table were just about going through the floor because Elvis was talking to Gloria! Gloria immediately told her agent about the conversation, but the agent never followed up on it---he should have had photos taken or talked up a film project with Elvis's people, but he just let it drop.

Michael Jackson was a fan of Gloria's, too. He once sent her a fan letter, hand-delivered by a courier, asking for an autographed photo.

What a fascinating story! How cool!!

Good morning! Sorry to hear about so many people in your area having problems, but glad to hear you don't have the problem since you have a well.

Good luck to your son with his college interview. I am sure he will do great!

Seriously, folks, you cannot just make up this stuff... here's a clip from a news article from Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin:

"This really shouldn't be a shock to anyone, but for the record, let's just say it's usually a pretty bad idea to set a charcoal fire under your car. A Wisconsin woman did just that, and set her 2007 Dodge Caravan on fire. Even better, she lives in an area named after a burning torch!

The Lac du Flambeau woman was trying to start her minivan in some really awful temperatures, around -23°F, and after removing her battery and warming it indoors (smart), she decided to warm the engine block with a charcoal fire (not smart).

The inevitable fire started with the underside of the bumper, and quickly spread to all the deliciously flammable bits of rubber under the hood and around the engine bay...."

This is, what we call, a "Carbecue"....!

Snowflake, was this you????

Good afternoon, friends!!

I am just getting home from work. Had to be up at pretty early, but it's nice to be done for the day.

I need a nap!!

It's 5 degrees and sunny outside- I'll take it!

How are you today?

I have a few errands to run, then it's time to relax.

Enjoy the rest of your day!!

((Hugs))

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was in the mid-40's at daylight this morning, so back to business as usual here in south Georgia. After I got to work today, I got a call about a busted water line under the train depot. Luckily, one of our councilmen owns a business one block away, so he went by to turn off the water till we can get it fixed.

Great news from CAH!!! :???:

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Good morning, Brad! Glad he was able to go down and get it taken care of quickly!

Forgot to mention that I didn't see any Northern Lights last night. We had some clouds, and due to the houses in our neighborhood, I couldn't see the horizon (if they showed up, they would have been low in the sky). Oh, well.

Bummer!

Hey festive! I wish I would've stopped at one polar vortex last night too- that Carl mixes them strong! And I had to be up so early this morning.

It was still -19 overnight, but could possible reach 10 degrees today. Hope so!

Glad you stayed dry this morning.
Enjoy some down time & relaxation, my friend!!
