This will sounds weird, but when I'm feeling wiped out, I'll often stick in a DVD of Dragnet episodes (the color ones from 1967-70) and just click on Play All. I don't have to concentrate on them, and if I drift off, I can just listen. They're easy to veg out to.

I e-mailed my supervisor that I was better this afternoon except for feeling wiped out. She wants me to stay out tomorrow so I can come back 100% on Friday. It helps me to feel better knowing there's no pressure tomorrow. Maybe I'll feel up to a real movie by then.

We just got a postcard from a neighbor whose church will be showing "Safety Last" with a live piano accompaniment on Feb. 8th. I'll talk it over with Mr. But with the cold weather we've been having, we'd probably be better off putting the DVD in the video projector.



If those icy conditions keep up, you'll soon be a-Fred A-staires. cheesy

I do the same but my series are really basic; usually Bewitched or any of the Lucille Ball shows.

I hate that rule too, nobody ever seems to want the extra hours. Not to mention just helping someone out who is sick and needs the rest!

My kids work under similar conditions but usually they are the ones being called at all hours to cover people. And what annoys me is the 'sick' people are actually hungover andthink its funny to call my kids who have barely finished a shift and are sleeping preparing for their next shift. The boss actually abused my daughter when she first started and unfortunately fell sick with vomiting for 5 days. Now, my kids aren't shirkers and after several years now I hope he has figured that out.

yes, must always be careful around fires. Happy to hear you are safe for now, praying it stays that way. Also praying that they stop soon and others remain safe.
Have to wonder why people would do such a thing?

The looting has now started in the fire affected towns too. What is happening to us that we're so desperate to do this?

Me too!!!

Yesterday I felt sick after I got to work, so I went back home and back to bed. Felt better in the evening, just really wiped out. Thought I'd be fine this morning, but woke up with an awful headache and feeling icky, so I called in sick. Got some more sleep, but I'm still headachy and lethargic and have very little appetite. Wish I knew what to do for it---I'm not nauseated or anything, I just … don't feel well. I don't want to be out for a third day tomorrow.

Get well soon Merry. I hope rest is all you need to make a full recovery. If you are in work today I hope you can cope through it.
