My kids work under similar conditions but usually they are the ones being called at all hours to cover people. And what annoys me is the 'sick' people are actually hungover andthink its funny to call my kids who have barely finished a shift and are sleeping preparing for their next shift. The boss actually abused my daughter when she first started and unfortunately fell sick with vomiting for 5 days. Now, my kids aren't shirkers and after several years now I hope he has figured that out.

It is so frustrating. My daughter has a class this morning then she has to work an eight hour shift. It's hard to get better when there is no time to rest!

A Brrrrrrrrry morning everyone! Left the house this morning to got to work at 5:30am and it was a cold 5 degrees F outside. My oh my, I hit that cold leather seat and I felt like I was sitting on a block of ice....Yup, I was awake then....

Yes, it is Thursday, one more day!!! I'm hoping for a nice quiet day here at the office so I can get some things done. I'm right in the middle of laying out (designing) a complete plumbing system for this elementary school and then I have to start working 12-16 hour days starting next week so that I can work on another school during the day 6am-3pm and then go out in the field and start surveying a renovation project for McCormick Spice and Food company at their Innovation plant, in the evenings, 3-10pm; "busy, busy, busy..."!

Well, hope everyone has a good day today!

3 hours of sleep and now I get to babysit a sick niece. Oh, this is going to be a fun day.

The looting has now started in the fire affected towns too. What is happening to us that we're so desperate to do this?
I have no idea why people do that, we had some one loot our home after a major fire when my kids were still little (no one home at the time, just lots of damage, it was 6 months before it was rebuild and we could move back again)
They took jewelry, antiques and a few other items.

Good Morning, Fr-Fr-Frozen Fr-Fr-Friendssssss!

Just checked our backdoor digital therometer and it reads 9.5 degrees, the lowest reading we've had so far this winter.
Ice and snow everywhere too will slow the warming this afternoon although it is predicted to be sunny with no further precip.
(Don't know about you but I just don't like winter once New Year's Day has passed!)

But on to a topic with a bit more warmth to it:
Days to the Season: 287
Days to Christmas Day: 329

And to really feel toasty, just note that we are now UNDER two weeks away from the one-quarter Season Milestone marker, the 2nd one on our handy post #1 chart.
(Getting close to bringing SINGLE DIGITS into the conversation!)

Have a Th-Th-Thrilling Th-Th-Thursday, Everyone.
Try and say warm with visions of Christmas Season 2014 dancing in your heads!

I just watched my husband hop in his van and drive away without heating it up. I can't do it, I have to let the car run for a few minutes. I feel spoiled with my new car, heated seats and a heated steering wheel. I am getting a lot of use out of that this winter.
You are going to be super busy next week, I hope all goes well. Have a great day xmastidings!

I'm sorry that happened to you. That is awful!

Thank you Crown. Try and stay warm!

Good morning!
Just had the dogs outside, it is chilly out there. We are currently at 9 degrees but will have a high of 28.
My youngest stayed home from school today, said she isn't feeling well. I hope she isn't coming down with what her sister has. We'll see what happens. Not a lot planned for today. I may take a ride to the mall with my middle daughter. She has a party tomorrow night and needs a dress, nothing like waiting until the last minute. I hope she finds something quick, I don't feel like shopping today. I was up quite a bit with Maggie last night.
I also need to start working on a menu plan for next week. I swear I don't know what to cook anymore.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
