Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning,

We woke up to a balmy -13*f, if that won't get you moving quickly, nothing will. It is already up to 9*f now, so it is "warming" up quickly.
I didn't sleep too well last night between this cold and the trouble we are having with our older car. I kept having dreams about that darn car all night long, this winter has really been hard on it. It just doesn't want to start anymore, and I have a fear one of us will be stranded somewhere because of that. We have started looking to replace it with something a little bigger, the boys can barely fit in the backseat anymore, especially JP, he is now over 5 feet tall and he squishes himself in the backseat.
I am relaxing before work, watching the My Crazy Obsession Christmas part 2, I just watch the show and shake my head. cheesy I am obsessed about Christmas, but not that obsessed.

I will pop in before I leave.

Good morning!
I took a ride to Target earlier to pick up a few things. I love walking up and down the isles in there with a cup of coffee early in the morning, it's so nice and quiet. I'm back home having another cup of coffee before I start some chores. Not too much going on for me today. I think I'm all set for this storm that's heading our way. I may take a ride to my butcher to pick up some more cold cuts. I don't even want to go near the supermarket today, the butcher store shouldn't be crowded. I also plan on doing some Valentines Day shopping this afternoon. It will be my only chance to go before Friday. The snow is supposed to start at 3:00 in the morning and continue through the day tomorrow, I do not plan on leaving the house.

Good Morning! I'm in at the office earlier than usual so that I can get out of here at a good time and get home before the storm hits. Now, this mornings predictions from Accu-weather is for my area of Maryland (Carroll County), is to get a total of 12"-18" of snow and there will be considerable drifting as well....

As Otter would say, "This is gonna to be great..."!!! I love a good Noreaster~

It's supposed to be heavy, wet snow and wind here. Yuck. Happily, our friend/plow guy cleared the ice dams, icicles, and snow from our roof yesterday.

It's amazing that you're in NY, but you aren't getting all this snow that's coming down between us. I have a lot of family in Buffalo, and they say it hasn't been too bad this year. They're almost always snowed in!

What a cold, wet day! We are apparently on the outside edge of the ice, so it's just rain here, but a lot of it! And I just got my driveway holes filled in and leveled out. Doggone it. Nancy is never careful with that. I bet my drive is all squishy with ruts from her car. I'll have to buy a new shovel this weekend, I guess.

I took Nancy for her eye exam yesterday afternoon. The doctor took an image of her eye, then said she had a real problem and would need medical attention pretty soon. We were getting worked up, then he said, "Wait. There's a smudge on the machine lens. Let's try it again."

It was clear. I could have throttled him.

Anyway, we got home so late, I missed out on the county commissioners' meeting. At least something good came of it! :mrgreen:

What a cold, wet day! We are apparently on the outside edge of the ice, so it's just rain here, but a lot of it! And I just got my driveway holes filled in and leveled out. Doggone it. Nancy is never careful with that. I bet my drive is all squishy with ruts from her car. I'll have to buy a new shovel this weekend, I guess.

I was sitting here wondering if you were getting it or not in your area...

Me, right now if things hold it's course, I'm putting on my hard hat and battening down the hatches getting ready for a serious thumping...LOL! Nah, I'm good, I got 25 gallons of gas in cans, generator is ready to go, got firewood, plenty of Christmas movies, my honey and food; what else do I need...Oh yea, storms a coming, gotta run out and get toilet paper and milk~

That is a FACT! Last week when it got so cold, there was a run at Walmart. Everything was cleaned out. Like, even if we got some ice, it wouldn't be gone the next day. LOL

And if they even hint that there might be some snow, there will be 15 wrecks.

I am soooooo sick today. I'd like to be home in bed, but I'm behind in my work so I came in. I might as well have stayed home, as all I've done is cough, blow my nose, and stare at the computer screen. This is the third cold I've had since the new year (the fourth since just before Christmas), I just can't seem to keep away from them this year. Maybe I'll just call it a day and get out of here, as I'm not getting any work done anyway. Ugh!

Hopefully the doctor apologized for his BIG mistake! What if he had caused a patient a heart attack? Sheesh! Glad it turned out for good! We have been getting rain a lot this past week. That is slowing us down in the remodeling, though.
