Christmas Countdown - 2014

Our temps are going up to about 40F today, then we'll be getting some steady rain. Heaven knows where all the snow will go when the rain melts it! In many places the storm drains are covered with snow and ice, so the water just backs up in deep puddles on the streets. We got a little sun this morning, which was beautiful on yesterday's snow. Just the same, I'd like to make a deal with the weatherman: For the rest of the winter, send the snow only to those who want it! We've had more than our share and would like to spread the "joy."

They're saying there won't be any more snow here for at least 4 or 5 days, so we can catch our breath.

Good Tuesday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

It's been another busy day at work, and this is my first chance to post. Other than work, there's not much happening. It was 78° just a moment ago, and it's supposed to get into the 80's for the next couple days. What a difference from last week!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's 39 degree's right now!!!! Yay!!!! There is some pretty strong winds making it feel like only 24 with the wind chill. It should be another beautiful day though. I have a few things I want to do this morning and then this afternoon I'll probably spend some more time outside with my snow shovel trying to get rid of the ice that is melting. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

[Holiday]

Good afternoon, MMC!

The snow started falling just before it night fell yesterday and by 10:00 pm there was a little over 5 inches on the porch. There isn't much room to put what fell, so I did not shovel last night, only swept off the porch and stairs. Hopefully things will melt a bit in the next few days. Right now it looks like the house is surrounded by gently sloping hills ~ gorgeous!

I have chores to do and a few things I want to bake if there is time. Testing recipes for Christmas ~ fun stuff!

[Festive Spirit]

My daughter is having a great time, she doesn't want to come home. I don't blame her. She sent me some pictures yesterday, the home she's staying in is absolutely beautiful and the weather has been very nice. The week is going by so fast, she will be coming home already on Friday!
And Maggie is hanging in there. The poor thing still coughs off and on. She isn't worse though so that's good. My husband teases me and tells me she does it for attention. I'm going to punch him in the nose one of these days, lol.

That's good that she is having a good time, the break from the freezing temps must help a lot. Bless Maggie, perhaps when these temps warm up a bit it will make a difference. LOL re your husband!

Good morning!
We are expecting showers this afternoon with temperatures in the 40's. Heavier rain is headed our way on Friday so I'm sure a lot of this snow will be washed away. I'm looking forward to washing my car this weekend, it is so dirty.
I am taking a ride to Target soon, I have a list of things that I need. I also have to stop at the bank, then back home for daily chores. My daughter has a dentist appointment after lunch. I'm not sure what we'll do afterwards. My daughter wants to go to shopping again. The mall she wants to go to is kind of far, if we're not at the dentist long I'll take her.

Hope it goes well at the dentist. My husband has his routine appointment tomorrow. He almost made me cancel it saying he's swamped with work but I know he's just chicken LOL! Have fun at the mall if you go!

It must be lovely to have a break in the weather and be able to hang out outdoors for a bit. Be careful shovelling in that ice, must be vey slippery!

Hope you don't have to much flooding!!! The street department here has half of their employee's out patching pot holes and the other half trying to clean the snow from in front of the storm drains.

I had such weird and scary dreams last night. I kept dreaming about hurricanes and storms. I felt like I was in a disaster movie. I woke up panicked a few times and unfortunately the dreams just seem to continue each time I fell back asleep.

My little one has also been up through the night with a terrible cough. It seems to be worse at night.

Good evening, MMC!!

Adi & I were sitting here watching a movie, when some of our good friends from LaCrosse came knocking on our door It was a nice surprise! Their son was in a nearby town in a wrestling match, and they decided to stop by & catch up. We had fun reminiscing, and making summer plans.

We are loving the warmer weather, but got some not so pleasant news of a nasty winter storm coming on Thursday, and we are expected to receive 6-12 inches. Ahh!

I actually had my grandma mentioned in my first post but I went and edited it out - I hate bringing in sad/bad news, especially since I haven't been posting much!
