Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

All this talk of cold weather, and it's supposed to be in the mid-70's here today. Still, it's going into the mid-30's tonight, but no freezing weather.

This weekend is the annual Rattlesnake & Wildlife Festival. It always drawings thousands of people into our community, with food & crafts vendors, rattlesnake & animal displays, music, beauty pageant, and the parade. I'm riding in the parade again this year, representing the City of Bellville, along with my son and my father-in-law, Bernie. I say it every year, but it's the truth: I'm the Mayor, but Bernie is Bellville's most recognizable citizen. Everybody loves Bernie! They call out to him from the street! I'm driving along the parade route, waving my beauty pageant rotating-hand wave, and folks are yelling "Bernie!". LOL

City council meeting tonight, then a meeting with the county commissioners tomorrow night. Ugh.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

A town in western Oklahoma has a rattlesnake festival. I don't know what y'all do at yours, but at ours there are folks who handle the snakes and go out hunting them to bring them back (alive) and see who gets the biggest one. That's crazy!!! Snakes scare me to death!

Hope you have fun at the parade!

Holly Noel is adorable Ryan!
Enjoy your snow day, stay safe!

Thank you. Poor thing..,someone was mean to her before we adopted her. She's a sweetheart and is happy and content now.

I know one should never say anything about a lady's weight but Holly has put on a few pounds. It seems to happen to all the dogs who join this family! :)

Lucky you!
All our forecasted snow went south. Literally. Haven't seen a flake! Middle of last week it looked like we were going to get socked with a foot, but the forecast changed dramatically over the weekend. But I don't feel too bad---tonight is Mr.'s film club meeting, first one since December, and he didn't want the weather to cancel it.

I'm glad the snow went south and missed you and the meeting isn't cancelled!

I'm so sorry to hear that Ryan. I'm happy that Holly Noel is in a happy and loving home now. God bless you for rescuing her!
Molly and Maggie have put on a few pounds too, so I know what you're talking about!

When I was a teenager, I used to go with my aunt & uncle hunting rattlesnakes for the Rattlesnake Roundup. The hunters competed for most snakes, and largest snake. Then they had snake milking demonstrations. After that, the snakes were sold to laboratories for anti-venom work.

These days, any snakes on display are taken there by the Dept. of Natural Resources. The local Wildlife Club (that holds to event) finally succumbed to the will of tree-huggers who said it was too cruel to the rattlesnakes. LOL

Good Monday morning MMC! (almost afternoon!) I hope everyone had a great weekend! They just go too fast! It's a typical Monday around here. It's FREEZING again! Sooo ready for 30-40º weather! Am I asking too much? Ha ha!!
We ended up with about 3-4" of snow yesterday. Not as much as they were calling for, but Gracie loves it! She's a snow dog! And Buster says "OH NO! That &*^% white stuff again!"
I'm hoping to have time to read through some weekend posts. Bosses are bothering me though! Wishing you all a Merry Monday.

Well, I do not have kidney stones, thank goodness. We are not sure. I will be going in for x-rays to see if maybe something happened when I fell at the beauty shop. I have a feeling that is what is bothering me. With the house torn apart, we have to walk slowly in the house anyway, so now I don't feel so slow pokish since everyone else is slow! I might have to have minor surgery on my finger, the one that has the viscous discharge. The doctor thinks it is a cyst that is pushing against the nail bed. That is what is making a groove in the fingernail and causing the pain and discharge.

It is raining here and has rained for the past few days, but a miracle occurred yesterday when Hubby and Kane were able to frame the east wall--BIG YAY!!! I am so lucky to have a husband who is talented in the area of construction, and that is basically a hobby that he picked up along the way. His "real" job was as an engineer with the U.S. Forest Service designing roads and other things. His last few years, however, were spent maintaining forest property on the Mendocino.

I have a question: When I click on the Countdown link in my daily email, I am taken to the first page of Christmas Together. The Countdown "page" shows up as having been moved. Now I have to go to page two of Christmas Together and the Countdown keeps moving further and further down the list. Am I doing something wrong?

I am going to read some more posts before we head back to Chico to pick up some more supplies. TTYL

I cannot believe the bosses expect you to work! Where in the world are their priorities? Don't they know the importance of MMC?

I, too, cannot believe that someone could be so cruel to animals. I really don't like spiders or snakes, but I wouldn't be cruel to them. I saw a post on FB that really made me so angry that I think I could have been cruel to the humans who had done such a heinous act. I just don't understand it. I cannot look at those pictures without feeling the anger rise, so I scroll as quickly as I can. I am thankful for people like you and others here who respect life of all living creatures.

I'm glad you don't have kidney stones at least! I hope get feeling all better and enjoy your day!

I am glad that the film club meeting wasn't cancelled. I thought of you this weekend when I went to Michaels for some yarn to make dishcloths to go with the new colors for the kitchen. I bought some more ergonomical crochet hooks and a pair of stress-relief gloves. When I have worn the gloves to crochet, I will let you know how they work. The package states that the gloves are also useful for keyboard users.

Lucky you!

Ow, that sounds painful! At least you don't have kidney stones. They say that's terrible pain, too. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

I think I have a pair of those gloves somewhere, but haven't been smart enough to dig them out and use them! Yes, let me know how they work for you.

I hope you're enjoying the warmer weather and having a great day!

I'm having major homesickness today. Tomorrow is Kinkling Day, and I haven't had kinklings since before I left Maryland to get married. The only place to find them is in Frederick County around Shrove Tuesday. (They're a relative of the "fastnacht"---I have no idea how they came to be called "kinklings" locally.) I have a terrible case of nostalgia, thinking about those pillowy, sugary goodies.

I do have a recipe my dad sent me once, but no experience in making a dough that requires rising and frying in deep fat. I'd end up maimed or burn down the kitchen if I tried it.

Good afternoon Holiday! I bet Gracie is so darn cute playing in the snow! Molly and Maggie feel the same way Buster does. They can't get back inside the house fast enough!
I hope you're having a great day!

Well round 2,336 of shoveling for this winter is over. Hopefully it's the last!!! (Okay, I know I'll be back out there tomorrow after Mark comes through on the Bobcat and messes everything up. Hopefully that's it though!!!

My husband is the same way, we are lucky. I'm happy to hear things are moving along, that's exciting!
I will keep you in my prayers Seawaters, I hope you feel better soon!
