Good Morning friends!

I have been wanting to share this with you all and just don't seem to get around to it. A few of you already got the news!

After the heartbreak of losing our dear sweet dog, Chico, I had said I will never go through this again! I was not ever going to get another dog. I do have 2 dogs right now and was going to leave it at that, not adopting another one.

Well... we rescued a little 5 lb. long haired chihuahua from the animal shelter recently. He is a 4-5 year old stray (just a guess on his age from the shelter) that was underweight, hurt leg, scared, hungry and had feces stuck in his fur. He grabbed at Wayne's heart immediately and it brought tears to his eyes. I asked Wayne, "Do you like him"? He said he did so we got acquainted with him. He seemed a bit nervous but we decided to adopt him. He has bonded with me big time! I have fallen in love again and said I wouldn't do that again. I do have 2 other dogs that are rescues and our new baby has fit right in. I had a dream about Chico shortly before we rescued this doggy and Chico seemed happy in the dream as if he was telling me it's okay to move on but I still miss him! Adopting the dog just felt right. He had been up for adoption for several days and it seemed no one was interested in him, maybe because of his age and injured leg?

He has settled in, leg is better, putting on weight, plays a lot and VERY HAPPY!

Introducing our new baby, Niles.... Bradmac, you know where that name came from! (maybe a few other of you know as well?)

.

A person after my heart! We have never done a rescue, but we often talk about how one of our next dogs will be. I think that is so kind of you.

Morning, y'all! Hope this finds you doing great! Kinda a long night here....Bambina didn't sleep good, the wind/rain was howling, and our dogs were upset. I bet I got up 15 times from midnight through 6:30. Frustrating, but part of it.

Today, NCAA basketball, racing, and baby girl.

It's the best feeling in the world. Not only do you rescue a dog but they rescue you right back! Little Niles has really filled a lot of love in our hearts!

Both of our cats are rescues too. One of them we found in a gutter, matted hair, skin and bones and his breathing was wheezy. It took 3 vet visits to save him. Nearly 10 years later and he is just the sweetest ever! Here is Charlie sleeping in our Christmas village! You could never tell that he almost died. Healthy happy guy!

Good Morning, almost there Friends!

Almost to our next Milestone, that is.
It's only THREE days away -- less than half a week off!
It's number five on our Milestone marker chart.
And it's the 1/4 point to Christmas Day 2014!

Days to the Season: 235
Days to Christmas Day: 277

Great day yesterday.
A nice day to go to the large zoo we have nearby in Asheboro, NC which is where I went with my sister and both of my nieces to celebrate the older one's birthday.
Hard to believe she is now 23!

Colder weather is supposed to move in today where we have started off at 49 degrees, with frozen precip and sub-freezing temps predicted by Tuesday or Wednesday.
(Oh, well. At least we got our trip in while it was nice!)

Have a Super Sunday, Everybody.
And enjoy the remainder of your weekend in style!

Happy Birthday to your niece, Crown, and a Super Sunday to you!

Took Bambina shopping today. She learned how to spend Daddy's money. When I told her to stop, this is the response I got...

Coach, Little Bambina is adorable! She has to be one of the happiest babies I have ever seen!!!

I loved it, too! The Christmas & Halloween episodes are extra awesome!

My favorite episode was the one where they found something hidden in the bathroom and used it ~ Jackie's "freak out" in the tub was hilarious!

So happy to hear about this! I'm sure Niles was meant to come into your life. He's going to have such a happy life with you, and I'm sure he'll bring you much happiness as well. Congratulations!

Oh, he is adorable! Bless you and Wayne for adopting him!!! How has your turtle taken to him?

Oh yes, I mostly definitely know to what you are referring regarding the name Niles! on your choice!

Happy Sunday morning! We did some heavy-duty spring cleaning yesterday and this morning. I'm tired and sore---just can't scrub like I used to. We're picking up a friend later for lunch, then to the DQ for dessert, then back here for gabbing and movies. I hope I have the energy!

Spring continues to shy away. We're going down into single digits tonight. The high tomorrow is predicted to be only a degree or two above the all-time record of 26F. And a storm is on the way for Tuesday night and Wednesday, but it's too early to tell whether it will be a few inches or a blizzard. Winter just won't move over to give spring a chance.

Niles fell in love immediately with our other chihuahua, Meca, on the very first day we brought him home. This crate belonged to our other dog, Maris, and Meca has taken over. We leave the gate open all the time and she loves to hang out in there so we keep it out for her. She thinks it belongs to her and Niles has joined her. Ha ha!

Aw, that is a cute picture!

Niles has not met Alvin our tortoise yet. Alvin seems to be a bit more sleepy during the cold days, hibernation, so he hasn't been running around as much. When my son does get him out, Niles is not in the same room with him yet. I will keep you posted when they meet! Alvin becomes very active on warm days and we have him running around all the time.

Yes, now we have Niles and Maris. But our dog Maris does not have the same personality as Maris from the show! Our Maris is lively, happy and spunky all the time!

Enjoy the treat from DQ! I used to work for Dairy Queen as a teenager and we could eat free. Wow! I ate a lot of ice cream then! Yummy!!!
