Happy Sunday morning! We did some heavy-duty spring cleaning yesterday and this morning. I'm tired and sore---just can't scrub like I used to. We're picking up a friend later for lunch, then to the DQ for dessert, then back here for gabbing and movies. I hope I have the energy!

Spring continues to shy away. We're going down into single digits tonight. The high tomorrow is predicted to be only a degree or two above the all-time record of 26F. And a storm is on the way for Tuesday night and Wednesday, but it's too early to tell whether it will be a few inches or a blizzard. Winter just won't move over to give spring a chance.

I hope you feel better MerryCarey and that you are enjoying your day!
And I'm praying that there won't be a blizzard!

Once I get started on here, I just can't stop! I got to get ready and go to work!

Good afternoon, MMC!

A very cold, but sunny day here in mid-Michigan. Palmer was stretching along with me as I was working out this morning ~ she was chattering away and I think she might have been trying to teach me a few new moves. I'm not that limber though so she gave up and went to sleep ~ in the middle of my workout area. :lol: That is okay, I haven't worked up to doing the full routine yet ~ being injured for months on end really took its toll on me and it is taking a bit longer to get back to where I was than I thought it would. But I will most definitely get there!

A lot of chores to do today ~ they seem to pile up at times.

Hi everyone!

I've missed you all. I had a permanent teaching position for about three weeks. Then, their regular teacher returned from maternity leave. I've also only had two days off - not including March/Spring break - since the beginning of February. I'm not minding it at all. Hopefully the money starts coming in soon and my bank account can get out of the red figures!

A few new things... Kim and I will be moving into our own place in about three weeks. We take over a lease on April 1st, but we aren't able to fully move all our stuff until the second weekend of April, unfortunately. We have some packing ahead of us! In terms of where we're moving, it's only two blocks down and about five blocks over. It's actually much closer to where my most of my friends live, despite the fact that they're only about a 8-15 minute walk away right now!

I'll do my best to come around more from now on. I am still supply teaching a lot - pretty much every day - but I'll be sure to come on during my prep period. I have some time between searching for cheap flights (for Italy this summer) and a few other things.

Good Morning, almost there Friends!

Almost to our next Milestone, that is.
It's only THREE days away -- less than half a week off!
It's number five on our Milestone marker chart.
And it's the 1/4 point to Christmas Day 2014!

Great day yesterday.
A nice day to go to the large zoo we have nearby in Asheboro, NC which is where I went with my sister and both of my nieces to celebrate the older one's birthday.
Hard to believe she is now 23!

Colder weather is supposed to move in today where we have started off at 49 degrees, with frozen precip and sub-freezing temps predicted by Tuesday or Wednesday.
(Oh, well. At least we got our trip in while it was nice!)

It's still cold with plenty of snow in Ottawa. Kim and I had meant to go to Tinseltown, Ottawa's Christmas Emporium, two weeks ago, but she threw out her back (again). She's feeling better now, thankfully. Some great news came of this... I was talking to the owner and he informed me that they purchased the store next door! They already have one store for really nice handcrafted/homemade household items that is attached to Tinseltown. But, with this new purchase, they will be expanding/doubling their Christmas decorations and items! This will be just in time for Christmas In July! I'm quite excited!!

To share my excitement, I photographed a few new items today at Tinseltown. Despite there being a 40% off sale, I managed to convince myself that I can wait to make some purchases.

Niles fell in love immediately with our other chihuahua, Meca, on the very first day we brought him home. This crate belonged to our other dog, Maris, and Meca has taken over. We leave the gate open all the time and she loves to hang out in there so we keep it out for her. She thinks it belongs to her and Niles has joined her. Ha ha!

Good morning!
It is going to be a bit cooler today with temperatures in the lower 40's and we'll be back down to around 30 for tomorrow. Maybe some snow on Tuesday.
I don't have much planned for today. My husband will be busy working on the kitchen again but the girls have off. They were all out late and are sleeping in this morning, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet! I'm going to take them to visit my parents for a little while this afternoon. Then back home to start dinner, I'm going to make corned beef and cabbage. We had it at my in laws last weekend but the kids want me to make it. This is the only time of the year that we eat it.
I hope everyone is well and has a great day!!!

Good Morning friends!

I have been wanting to share this with you all and just don't seem to get around to it. A few of you already got the news!

After the heartbreak of losing our dear sweet dog, Chico, I had said I will never go through this again! I was not ever going to get another dog. I do have 2 dogs right now and was going to leave it at that, not adopting another one.

Well... we rescued a little 5 lb. long haired chihuahua from the animal shelter recently. He is a 4-5 year old stray (just a guess on his age from the shelter) that was underweight, hurt leg, scared, hungry and had feces stuck in his fur. He grabbed at Wayne's heart immediately and it brought tears to his eyes. I asked Wayne, "Do you like him"? He said he did so we got acquainted with him. He seemed a bit nervous but we decided to adopt him. He has bonded with me big time! I have fallen in love again and said I wouldn't do that again. I do have 2 other dogs that are rescues and our new baby has fit right in. I had a dream about Chico shortly before we rescued this doggy and Chico seemed happy in the dream as if he was telling me it's okay to move on but I still miss him! Adopting the dog just felt right. He had been up for adoption for several days and it seemed no one was interested in him, maybe because of his age and injured leg?

He has settled in, leg is better, putting on weight, plays a lot and VERY HAPPY!

Introducing our new baby, Niles.... Bradmac, you know where that name came from! (maybe a few other of you know as well?)
