Wayne has already put a request to take some time off in December. We plan to go see his family in Maryland and guess what?????? If everything works out we are planning an overnight trip to New York City while there! We will take a train from Baltimore to New York, about a 2 1/2 hour trip each way. I am looking forward to seeing the Rockefeller Christmas Tree and other Christmas sites!
We did take a day trip to New York last time we were there but it was in October. We only had time to visit the 9/11 memorial and John Lennon Memorial - Strawberry Fields/Imagine in Central Park. We also went by the Dakota Apartments where John and Yoko lived. Well, Yoko still lives there.
I am looking forward to seeing it at Christmas time!

I've been toying with a trip to Nashville to see Vince Gill and Amy Grant perform their Christmas concert at the Ryman Theater.
We saw them in Illinois a few years ago and it was wonderful.
I worry about rotten weather though...I must be bold!

I am doing better after a month from hell with virus stuff back to back. I was well for about a week and another bug got me! I always think it is just a head cold and then it turns into lots of yuck.
I hope all of my buddies here have avoided the plague and are thinking spring!

That sounds fantastic! We will be passing through Nashville on our way to Maryland. A little past Nashville is the half way point and we stay the night before continuing on with the trip.
Keep us posted if you do go. You should stay at the Gaylord hotel. They really go all out decorating!

putting in my request for vacation time from July 12 to the 2th to go to Vermont to visit my sister and pick up mom for trip home. My favorite son will be coming with me.

I haven't been on MMC much either. I was really pushing to get through the days as best I could with these viral bugs and get done what needed to be done.
So, I usually would crash at night...no computer! Sleep, sleep,sleep! (in between coughs).
I'm so glad to touch base with all of you tonight though and share of few Christmas thoughts!
It's still cold with plenty of snow in Ottawa. Kim and I had meant to go to Tinseltown, Ottawa's Christmas Emporium, two weeks ago, but she threw out her back (again). She's feeling better now, thankfully. Some great news came of this... I was talking to the owner and he informed me that they purchased the store next door! They already have one store for really nice handcrafted/homemade household items that is attached to Tinseltown. But, with this new purchase, they will be expanding/doubling their Christmas decorations and items! This will be just in time for Christmas In July! I'm quite excited!!
To share my excitement, I photographed a few new items today at Tinseltown. Despite there being a 40% off sale, I managed to convince myself that I can wait to make some purchases.

We had a good relaxing day, my weekend off went way too fast. I start another 6 days in a row stretch tomorrow.
JP had his first day of baseball tryouts today, he said he did very well. The coaches wouldn't let parents watch.
