well this day sure turned out not the way I planned!
LittleCS went home to discover her apartment was flooded. A pipe in the bathroom burst. They did not even call her.
A restoration company came in and set up huge heaters to dry the place out but no one took Pocket out. It was like 100' plus in there, the poor thing. She does not seen the worse for it all and is drinking and eating well. Still it makes me mad that they did not call or look after her.
LittleCS had water damage to a number of items that were on the floor but her deductible is $1,000 so that about covers the damage that was done so that was really no help to her.
She will be staying here for at least a week and I am supposed to charge her so much per day. $500 a day sound reasonable to you? LOL Actually I am going to charge them $100 a day, I figure that is cheap compared to what a hotel and meals would have cost them.
The one thing she lost that makes her really sad is her Opas bible, she used it all the time and really cherished it. It is to badly damaged to even dry out.

I am sorry to hear of the water damage, that is horrible they didn't call her.

Hello! Well, it is a good sign that I was able to jump right into the site for the very first that I've tried in about 3 days. I have to tell you all this crazy story that happened to us yesterday.

Here we are having a little family get together at the house here, when there's a knock on the door. I was just walking past the front door and turned around to see this woman standing there, waving to me. She looked familiar, but I couldn't place her right way... So, she then just walks into my house, OK, a little weird now, she says I guess you don't remember me, but I was the listing agent that sold you your house. Ok, now it clicked... Then I suddenly started to think to myself, UT-oh, now what!

She say's to my wife and I, that the gentleman that sold us this house, sent her over here to see if we would be interested into selling the house back to him! WHAT????Is this a joke? Am I on Candid Camera??? She says he is willing to pay us an extra 100,000 dollars above the original selling price; all in cash and also pay for all settlement costs and fees.....

Ok, now my jaw is like on the floor... Anyways, we talked with her a bit, showed her all of the renovations that we have made to the house in the past six months and then she left her card with us to call her and she left. So, a half hour later, I'm on my back deck, eating my dinner, and I hear this...."Hello, I'm not stalking you or anything, but can i talk to you again"? There she is again, walking up to my side gate....

She says to me that she told that gentleman about all of the changes that we have made to the place and he told her to come back and talk with us again and apparently, he bumped up his offer another 35,000 dollars... I'm standing there and the only thing I can get out of my mouth is, "seriously, is this for real???"

I'm stunned, my wife is stunned, and everyone so far that was either there at the house yesterday or that we have told, has told us to take the money and run. We are tempted, but not 100% sure that we really want to do that, I mean it is a very good offer, but wow, this is just starting to feel like our home and also moving really stinks....

I do realize that the final decision is ours, but, What would you do if someone approached you with the same offer? Isn't this one of the strangest stories that you have ever heard????

That is so strange, I hope you can come to a decision that you will be happy with.

Good evening,

Another long day, I am yawning like crazy.
I am listening to some music and visiting MMC. My wife is watching The Bachelorette, I am not in to the show, but the bachelorette is some eye candy. cheesy

I have my inventory tomorrow, so I head in later in the morning.

I hope you all had a good day.

Good night, everyone.

That's crazy, I have no idea what we would do in that situation. Good luck with your decision!

The Steve Miller Band wrote a song that would help you with this...it's named "Take the Money and Run!" Here's what I think. For an additional 135,000, you can build the exact house somewhere else and have still have all that extra loot...

But....I kinda agree with Made. Get the metal detector and start searching. I would also say that you would have to have 150,000....if they are willing to pay 135,000, what's 15,000 more?

Good morning, MMC!!

Wishing you a blessed day!!

Good Morning, Folks.

Work week day two.

And speaking of TWO -- it's the number of days remaining unitl the HALF WAY Milestone to Christmas Day!
(And that's the same as the day after tomorrow, Yogi!)

Days to the Season: 142
Days to Christmas Day: 184

Quite warm and humid in these parts - more or less what one would expect around here in late June.
That and the occaisional rainstorm.
Right now, our morning has commenced at 67 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, One and All!
