Christmas Countdown - 2014

We had to put a halt on cleaning. We are burning up in here and could not figure out what is going on because the AC is on. Realized it's not cooling at all, checked the unit outside and you can hear the motor but the blades are not spinning. Yikes!!! It's not going to be quite as hot this week, lower 90's but still need some AC. The triple digits will be back! Just have to somehow make the best of it until we get it repaired. At least we have window units in our bedrooms! They are just not strong enough to cool off the whole house.

Hope they can get it fixed soon and that it's not to big of a job!!!!

Forms are gone & they put the window in! Nobody was around. Guess they'll be back tomorrow! :smile:

Good morning,

It has been so humid here since last night, had to sleep with the fans on high. Woke up and turned the ACs on to get rid of the damp feeling that has been in the house.
We had plans to go out and do our final shopping before vacation but JP has come down with a stomach bug, nothing is staying down. I just hope that this goes away before Saturday and no one else gets it.

I will be around most of the day and popping in.

Thanks! Lunch went too fast - as always. I got 2 more cupboards & the lazy suzan cupboard packed up. Fun fun fun!

It does here too!!!!! Beautiful!!!! They have tore out all of the screen's again though, so I had to close the windows again to avoid letting all of the critters in.

What are they thinking???

 

[Holiday]

The grandkids and I are having a Christmas in July cleaning party. I fixed them all hot cocoa and put them in Christmas mugs, got the music going from Sounds of the Seasons, lit the pumpkin candle and even still have my red, white and blue "Christmas" lights on (leftover from 4th of July) and cleaning up! My granddaughter said, "I love you grandma and will help you with cleaning". They are so sweet! We are usually on the go, go, go having fun, fun, fun so today we just need to catch up on a little cleaning and the kids are actually having fun! We are taking a little break and in a little bit plan to build a tent in the livingroom and have some lunch.

And miracle of miracles, we find ourselves down to just 3 weeks until the 100-day Season Window and the start of our double-digit count.
(Now, it REALLY doesn't seem so far away, does it?)


Whew!
Muggy yesterday with a high of 98 and plenty of humidity to go around.
Hoping for a bit of relief today. Even a rainstorm would be nice.
We have begun this day before 'Pines Day at a too-warm 80 degrees here in the capital city.

Good Morning folks~ How's everyone doing? We sure have been having some crazy weather around this area, been doing nothing but storming for days now... I heard this morning on the news, that a tornado was confirmed to of have touched down about 2 miles from where I used to live at in Baltimore County, Maryland.... Hope no one got hurt! This must be because of that so-called Artic blast they have been talking about on the Weather Channel, coming down from out of Canada, hitting that warm, moist air already entrenched around here...

Last night, I put a down payment towards the purchase of (2) baby girl (Dwarf Hotot bunnies for my daughter), we are scheduled to get them around the first week of August. I'm thinking about just driving over there when the time comes and just getting them myself and then surprising her with them.

I've been really busy at home and at the office, so I have had very little time for jumping on the computer and seeing what's going on with everyone. I'm looking forward to this coming Friday evening, when QVC will be having their Christmas in July event. I saw that it will be on at 9:00 am that day, but us working people are unavailable to tune in at that time, so I have to wait till later on, to see the evening hour event. I just wonder if it will be as interesting as it was last year?

Well, guess I should get back to work, or at least look like I'm working....Have a blessed day everyone!!!!!

Good afternoon!

I had a dream last night about Chico, my chihuahua who passed away in February. In the dream he had jumped up on the bed and I started crying BIG TIME and hugging him telling him how much I missed him and glad he was back. The dream seemed so real! This is the 3rd dream I have had about him since he passed. I felt a little sad when I first woke up but then happy because I feel he was just visiting with me so it's all good now.

I think about him so much and miss him A LOT but refuse to get down about it. It's just my way of handling grief and would never judge others on how they handle theirs. I did my share of crying a lot in during his illness and right after he passed but realized that would not bring him back. Instead, every time I think of him I feel like I want to cry but change quickly to think happy thoughts about him and I smile instead. I tell my new little dog, Niles, that Chico is his guardian angel because he does a lot of little things Chico use to do. So I am always telling Wayne the new things Chico taught Niles! It makes me happy to know Chico is nearby watching over him. I know Louann is taking care of Chico too!

This post was not meant to be a downer but uplifting. It just makes me feel better to share with you all.

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

50 years plus 1 day, and still going strong! LOL

The office threw me a party with the black balloons, "Over the Hill" signs, bottles of Geritol, tubes of denture cream and packs of Depends. Oh, they had a good time with that LOL. Then last night my family and I went to Olive Garden last night for my treat, and it was just as good as I wanted it to be. I just love eating there!

Now it's back to regular life. I have so much stuff piled up on my desk, it's crazy.

Good Morning, MMC!!!!!!! It's a beautiful day here in Central Indy!!!!!! I just spent a couple of hours outside catching up with my neighbors and yelling at the painters that they missed a spot. I'm sure they loved that. LOL!!!!! Now it's back inside to listen to more christmas music on Sounds of the Seasons while getting my laundry and other chores done. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

P.S.- Don't forget, HSN starts their CIJ at 11pm edt tonight!!!!!!

I was the only one who remembered them at work.

My father owned a deli when I was growing up, we always had lots of Hostess and Drakes cakes around!

My 4 year old granddaughter has started a reality show called, Grandma's World! She came in with some toy binoculars pretending that it is a camcorder. She said, "Grandma, I am recording you for the show called, Grandma's World, so keep cooking and talk to us about it". She plans to follow me around with it and document my day. I kind of feel like I am part of a National Geographic/reality show because of the commentary that follows. She was recording and says, "Grandma now cooks for her grandkids" and saying more stuff. Ha ha! This should be interesting. The world will wonder why on earth Christmas music is playing in the background during July.

My life is not too exciting so not sure about the ratings.

Good morning all. Dad is having some surgery today so please pray! It's risky but it may relieve some of his pain. But in his condition it's dangerous. Basically they have to put a stint in his liver so his body can process the pain medicine.

My day has been a bit hectic but so far, so good. My daughter's appointments went well. She saw her ENT this morning and then went to the hospital for blood work, an EKG and a chest x-ray. Now I need to catch up with my chores and run a couple of errands, just having a quick cup of coffee first.
Molly and Maggie are doing pretty good. We had some thunderstorms pass through last night so I was up with them for a while. Maggie usually burrows under the covers but she was so nervous it sounded like she was trying to dig a hole to China. And poor Molly, she was running around like a chicken without a head. Looks like we are expecting more storms this evening, we'll see what happens.
I hope your sweet baby girl is doing well, we're sending hugs back your way!!!
