I was looking in the Hagerstown country almanac last night, I believe, that by the middle of this week, we will have lost 30 minutes of daylight since the middle of June, I'm telling ya folks, it (the time) is going to go by really quickly and before you know it, they will be setting up Fall everything in the stores... I was at Home Depot yesterday, and they were already putting their summer stuff on sale and clearing shelves to get ready for the Fall items. I took a peek in their back receiving area and yup, there it was, Fall items on pallets....

Losing all that daylight is one of the hardest things for me as summer winds down. Then it becomes dark on the way to work, dark coming home from work, maybe a little daylight through the office window. After the Christmas lights go off in most places in January, the days really drag until the daylight starts to increase.

There's a house on my way home that has icicle lights year-round. They put them up for the Christmas season, then just leave them in place. Throughout the spring and summer they slowly deteriorate, though, and gaps start to appear. Before Christmas, though, they put up fresh ones. If I'm working late on a summer evening, I can get a smile from seeing those shining icicles.

Here comes Monday! I hope it treats you well!

My day off last Friday was a fizzle. I woke up with an awful headache that made me feel sick, and couldn't get rid of it until late afternoon. I didn't really feel well until later on Saturday. Oh, well. I'd rather have been home feeling sick than at the office!

I have thought to myself, that one day in the future when I'm a lot older, and I cannot physically put out all the Christmas and Halloween decorations any longer, that, if I have a condo or something, I could then put up a strand of Christmas lights outside on a small patio or something, leave them up all year long and just have a couple of small boxes to change out the light bulbs for the seasonal holidays~:merry:

By the way, have you started working your Christmas Afghan yet?

Good morning!
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I kept myself busy but I popped in from time to time. I just love the QVC banter, you guys are too funny. I was able to watch a little bit here and there. I saw a few things that I liked but I didn't order anything. I wish I could find a part time job that worked for me, I would love to have the extra money to treat myself to things that I want!
Anyway, we are going to have sun and clouds today with a high of 80 degrees. Typical day of errands and chores. The girls all have off from work today which is nice. We are going to get pizza for lunch and then I'm going to do some more dorm shopping my youngest. We did a little bit over the weekend but we still have a lot more to do. She found a wall tapestry from Urban Outfitters that she had to have so I ordered it for her. I want to find her string lights today too, I think that will help to make the room cozy!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx

I can respect that. You know something, for me, but I really like it when it starts to get a little darker earlier in the evening and a little darker in the mornings, (especially in the mornings), then that way, the sun does not wake me up too early....

But in the evenings, it feels sort of rustic to me, the cool evenings where you have to put a flannel shirt/ jacket on, the Fall colors all around you, you can sit outside in the evening and the bugs won't carry you away, have bon-fires and your not too hot, and of course, the bounty of the vegetable garden coming into a full abundance, all in preparation for the winter months ahead~

It's good to see you graywolf!
That is way too hot! Try and keep cool.
I hope you have a nice day!
Thanks HMG! You too! I was thinking about your daughter the other day. My son turned 18 on the 11th, but it's been a few weeks of celebration with different friends and family members. I was thinking about what you posted last month about her going off to college and growing up. :-). It's just all to strange. LOL

It's crazy graywolf. I can't believe she'll be leaving me next month. My two oldest stayed home so this is all new to me. I don't like it, lol.

It's nuts! I keep thinking back to when I left for college out of state and wondering if my mother thought the same thing. LOL "I don't care if the law says you're legally an adult or not! You're still my baby! Now sit back down and finish watching Winnie the Pooh!!"

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I hope I didn't miss anything important over the weekend, you guys did some serious QVC chatting!

My cousin has a vacation home at the coast, so I went with him Saturday to "test the repairs" on his boat. It was a good excuse to get out of the house and on the water. We had a great time just cruising, watching the porpoises swim alongside the boat. We ate a bellyful of shrimp for lunch, then cruised some more till a storm came up. We took the boat out of the water and hung out at his place till it cleared up. Then we washed the boat and came home. It was super!

Ed is not only my 1st cousin, but my best friend. We've played together in the band since we were teenagers, and we used to do almost everything together. Then life got busy with marriage and kids. I'm glad we're finally getting to do some things together again.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
