Christmas Countdown - 2014

[Holiday]

Good morning MMC! A beautiful morning in Ohio....but supposed to be a hot/muggy 89º by the afternoon. They are now saying 50% chance of rain for tomorrow - go figure b/c we are supposed to go to the Nascar Truck Series race at Eldora tomorrow night! Could be interesting!!! M-U-D-D-Y!

Last night our friend/electrician came over with his son. Between them & my hubby they have our carpet cut out/ripped up where the new island is going, we have holes in our ceiling for lights above the island - he brought the can lights along that he bought for us to make sure we liked them....works for me! :smile: Getting exciting & messy! :lol: They are coming back tonight to work some more! I think our friend is coming tomorrow night even though we won't be home! Git 'r done!

We are going to have sun & clouds today with temperatures in the lower 80's.
I plan on going to Bed, Bath & Beyond today to do more dorm shopping. That's all I really want to do today, I did way too much running around yesterday. My daughter already mentioned she would like to go back to the Apple store to get her computer but she she has to work for a few hours. I guess we'll see if we can fit that in too. Other than that I will be working on some chores around the house. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Wow, we got a lot of rain yesterday. I don't have a gauge at home, but several neighbors are saying we got almost 6" in a little over an hour. I've never seen Bellville underwater before, but it certainly was yesterday afternoon.

It's another busy day with visitors here at work, and the a/c unit in the main office quit working...of course! I have lots of folks piling up here in my office trailer, angling for space to work in the a/c. I'm popular!

I think my problem is that they kids will be busy with school and after school activities then on weekends I am very busy. Even though they live right by me I am not sure when I will get to see them! I need at least one day a week with them, even just for a few hours would be great. The way it looks right now it might only be once a month. We will figure something out!!! I know it will all be good!

I'm sure you will work something out. They will be over b/c they will miss their awesome Gma!!

I'm glad things are moving right along. I'm jealous, lol! We had a leak in my daughters room and it turned in to a very big project. My husband has been working on that so the kitchen has once again been put on the back burner!!!

I'm glad things are moving right along. I'm jealous, lol! We had a leak in my daughters room and it turned in to a very big project. My husband has been working on that so the kitchen has once again been put on the back burner!!!

Oh no...sorry to hear that about the leak. I hope he is able to fix it pretty quick so he can get back to the kitchen! I am patiently waiting for pictures. LOL!!! ;-)
We have hit a snag with just about everything we are trying to do!! :lol: We have a plugged tile in the back yard - figuring it's tree roots - cheap plastic tile back there, so that is why the trencher is coming to put in new PVC tile - hopefully tomorrow! Also have a leak in the basement which is why the plumber is coming tomorrow. And when hubby tore out the soffit, found they ran plumbing right down inside the soffit. Which is where our new cabinet - with windows in the top - is going to go. Plumber is going to check that out tomorrow too. Geesh! Add on top the fact that they hit the power main when they dug the hole & DPL still has not been out to trench in the new electric wire, so that is laying bare on top of the grass...we have to watch Gracie pretty close so she doesn't chew on it. I am not asking what's next. LOL!

Good Afternoon, MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be hot here today. The hottest day of the year as a matter of fact. Yuck!!!! Bring back the Polar Vortex!!!! LOL!!! It looks like storms will move in tonight and then some strong storms tomorrow. Not a whole lot going on here today. I have a few projects that I need to work on along with my normal daily chores. I ran into office depot and office max with my sister this morning so she could get some of the school supplies they had on sale. They had a limit of 3 so she went through with 3 and I went through with 3. Then we stopped by Sams club and I picked up some chocolate chocolate chip muffins. YUM!!! I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday my mom, grandchildren and I went to the museum and they have a temporary exhibit where you build cars, catapults, paper rockets and planes. After you build your projects you can try them out, race the cars and shoot of the planes, rockets and catapults. They have a paper plane launcher and I was having a blast with that. Ha ha! I still know how to make an awesome paper plane because mine shot off, passed the target and slammed into the wall. They said mine shot the furthest that day, so far - there were still several more hours left that day. I was just having too much fun! Oh yeah, the kids had fun too! :lol:

All this talk of kids going off to college and school is also putting a little anxiety on me. My youngest granddaughter is starting kindergarten and I am happy for her but sad for myself. I have been watching my 3 grandchildren since they were born while their parents work. I have had the pleasure to watch them grow. Yes, I get really tired and sometimes the days are long but seeing my youngest go off to school is making me feel a bit sad. I have enjoyed the time having the kids throughout the week. I will still get to see them because they live by me! So not sure why I am feeling the anxiety but I am just use to having them here more often. I am sure it will all be okay once we get into a routine!

I wish I could have joined in on the QVC banter more than what I did but I am happy you all had fun!

I didn't get to read as many post as I would have liked to, got a lot to do today so don't have a lot of time.

I guess to keep yourself busy, you'll just have to get back in the routine of coming up here and doing my dishes everyday!!!!!! LOL!!!!! :wink:

I'm sure it will be weird at first but you will find a new routine quickly.

I forgot to mention but our mild summer is over for awhile - 99 degrees today and triple digits the rest of the week. Not liking that but so thankful for the mild temps we were having!!! I have never seen a mild summer last this long. I think all this part of Texas have been in shock! =)

I just saw an electric company commercial with Santa in it! They are having a Christmas in July sale.

Friends, I 've got a little something going at work....if you don't mind, I would appreciate a prayer if you got a second...could be a tough situation.

Cooler yesterday, but it came at the expense of rain, which will add to the humidity tomorrow.
(Oh well, things had been getting a little dry around here.)
Not a hard enough rain to test out the newly repaired gutters, however.
Perhaps today.
We are starting out at 73 degrees here this morning.

Such a nice experience!

The agency I work for did a website for Franciscan nuns a few months back. Today three of the sisters brought us a lunch they made themselves: a hot dish, rice, and bread---even Franciscan wine. They gave us each a keychain with St. Francis on it. We've had clients send lunch in to us before as a thank-you---but we never had clients who personally MADE us lunch before and brought it to us. I enjoyed meeting the sisters.
