Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good long weekend evening all!

Saw some Fall pumpkins and wreaths out at Walmart, was in a hurry so I couldn't get a picture. Oh well. I will go back later! Just relaxing right now. I am glad to have monday off but my shift has changed. Its making for very long and stressful days. Sheesh! I did find a GREAT game for my iphone. Out for Canada right now called Castaway Paradise. Its like Animal Crossing for the Iphone. I got a SNOWMAN in the game so that made me super happy! Well. Gotta go, back to my shows! Have a merry weekend!

Well mom's appointment didn't go that well. Her blood is to thin again. So they changed her blood thinner dosage again and we get to go back next weekend. The doctor said she gives up and that she has never had anyone bounce around like this. :lol:

I'll keep her in my thoughts.

I was really hoping to have some time to catch up here today but it just didn't happen. I can't seem to catch a break. I hope to find some time tomorrow. I spoke with my brother earlier and he had to put his 14 year old West Highland Terrier down this morning. They are devastated. It was one of the hardest things he's ever had to do and it broke my heart to hear my 50 year old brother crying. We really are blessed to have these amazing pets in our lives. They bring us so much joy each and every day and work their way right in to our hearts. It's so hard to say goodbye.

I am glad you enjoyed your day.

When my husband and I went to New York a few years ago we missed our stop when we rode on the subway and ended up in Brooklyn. It made us a bit nervous because we felt a little lost since it was our first time riding on it. The guy at the ticket booth was really nice, let us back on and told us where we needed to go. We are hoping to make another trip back there this December!

It's a great city, I love living so close I can visit whenever I want. And New York at Christmas time is one of the best times to visit! (I'd say it's the second best time after summer!) Have fun on your trip!

Weekend Part II.
Welcome to it.

The latest figures, of course.
And here they are:
Days to the Season: 74
Days to Christmas Day: 116

And just like that, we are down to a scant 16 days to the 100-day Christmas Day Window and the commencement of a double-double digit count.
(Is it too early to start to feel the excitement building?)


Slowly - ever so slowly - the heat and humidity return.
Still not back to typical summer levels but gradually getting there.
However, tomorrow is the first day of September which I have always thought of as a fall month. And that psychologically makes me feel just a little bit cooler.
We stand just under 73 degrees at this hour here in the capital city.
