Christmas Countdown - 2014

[Holiday]

That storm came through on Thursday afternoon and tore up our town and knocked out our electricity for 24 hours. My parents, aunt, cousins and daughter's family as well lost power. We had nowhere to store our food and got as much as we could in our cooler. We all lost a lot of food. Frustrating but it can be replaced!!! We just had to make the best of it. Last report I heard that almost 200,000 people were without electricity, this morning still 80,000 people are still without. My parents had tree knocked down in our yard and so did my daughter's family. Trees and limbs are thrown all over town.

The funny part is, earlier that day I noticed a broke limb hanging down off our tree in the backyard. We are unable to reach it but since it's just hanging there I told Wayne that maybe that storm later in the day will knock it down. The storm caused lots of limbs to fall off our tree BUT that broke limb is still attached!!! Driving around town lots of tree were uprooted and some are laying on homeowner's roofs but that limb is still on my tree!!! :lol:

I have missed some time on here due to the electricity being out. I could have used my phone but I don't navigate the site too well on there and had to save battery power.

We are wanting to do something festive today, maybe go to the big Christmas store, shop for fall/Halloween goodies but not sure what yet. I guess I will report back and let you know what we do!

Oh my gosh CAH! Sorry to hear about all the damage in your area. I'm glad you are safe!!! Your limb story did make me chuckle!!!

And yes! Snow! October 4th...think the Farmer's Almanac is going to be pretty accurate again.

That's crazy!!!! : Our friends/coworker went to Akron, OH for a football game Saturday afternoon - he just came into the office here to tell me it was snowing during the game! EEK!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I've really enjoyed this nice, cool weekend weather! It was still in the upper 40's this morning! But, all things must change; it'll be 90° by Thursday. :-o Still, it's a sign of times to come.

We had a super busy weekend with Jacob's gig Saturday and Elizabeth dancing and Dracula practice on Saturday. Jacob was told to be there at 8 AM, but his band didn't play till after lunch. Grrr.

The city well on my side of town is still giving us trouble, and I'm getting calls from residents about it. Time to kick the repairman in the pants!

Stuck at Passport but at least I am working somewhere! No calls at all this morning.

It is a chilly fall day in Ottawa. Same as yesterday but no rain in the forecast. I like that.

I plan to be a little busy tonight. I am hockey at 11pm, which is far too late, but I also want to go to the gym. We will see if I can get a nap in there, too.

Merry Morning! Mondays sure do come around quickly!

It is pouring rain out Looks like we are set for a rather wet and stormy week. It is dark, cold and windy. I could do with a Christmas film but holding off till November lol

This week I will be organising for my little one's birthday next week. He will be three! I still need to do some shopping for him.

I didn't get around to bringing down the Halloween decorations from the loft over the weekend. Hopefully this weekend.

Have a good one Festive. Starting to see the roll out of Xmas products in the stores. B&Q (like home depot) have a good amount of lights on display for any UK board members. Think I'll get the Halloween decoration down this weekend. High winds last night did destroy my bird table so that's tonight's job sorted

Good Morning MMC !

Warmed up here over night, it is 8c (46f), should go all the way up to 15c (59f)

Two more sleeps and the new hockey season starts again. Apparently you can now have gourmet meals at the Toronto games, it even get delivered right to your seat.(you have to be in a special seating area for this) That is just weird, I mean you are there to watch the game, imagine the mess when a goal is made and everyone jumps to their feet to cheer.

Anyway, I have to go to work so I better go and get my lunch together and brush my teeth so I don't knock out the customers when I say hello!

Good morning!
I'm having a cup of coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet. My husband had to be on a job in the city early this morning and the girls will be waking up in a few minutes. I go in to the preschool a little bit later today so I have some time to work on a few chores before I leave. I also want to make a big pot of chicken soup for dinner, so I'll get that started as well. The house is chilly this morning. We are currently at 43 degrees but it's going to warm up to 68 so it's not time to put the heat on yet. My husband covered the pool yesterday. We've been scooping out lots of leaves and acorns every day so it was time. I'm going to sign off now, I need to throw a load of laundry in the machine and make blueberry pancakes for the girls. I'll try and pop back in later this afternoon. I hope everyone has a wonderful day and a great week ahead!

Nice and warm at the coast Saturday but by Sunday morning, we were down close to 50 degrees and it never reached beyond the upper 60's all day.
Not to worry, though. We are returning to the 70's today and are predicted to remain there for highs the remainder of the week.
(Hey! We just aren't ready for steady cold weather yet!)
We have started today off at a quite chilly 47 degrees here in the capital city.

Good morning my Merry Friends! Happy Monday! What a cold/rainy/windy weekend!!! :cold: I'm not ready for that!!!! Brrrrrr!!! The wind was wicked! Hope you all had a great one!

We watched the Buckeyes on Saturday (noon) - took a nap (weather) watched a couple movies at the neighbors Saturday night. Pretty relaxing day! Yesterday some friends came over to see the house, then we did a little house hopping to a couple other friends houses....another relaxing day! Now it's back to the grind! Both bosses had running to do this morning, so I'm enjoying this!

I'm off to try to catch up on what I missed over the weekend!
