Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadians. I hope everyone is doing well. I don't post often, but I'm always here reading and listening to Christmas music on this site.

Just wanted to share that my wife and I just put up our first set of outdoor Christmas lights on the upper roof and we will put the rest up after the Bills game. :)

73 more days until Christmas and 20 more days (November 1st) until we put up the Christmas trees (3), decorate the house and turn on the outdoor lights.

I have already finished my Christmas shopping for my wife, I am extremely excited with what I got her.

Again, I hope everyone is doing well.

Great to see you, mike24forever! That's awesome you guys are getting your lights up and you're getting your shopping done. All is well here - hope all is well with you too! Take care!

Awesome! I'm going to spend time today in the garage setting up to get the lights out. I will get them out next weekend, test the lights, and get them ready for the following weekend. I don't have my wife's shopping done, but I do have my parents and brother taken care of...

Sounds like you're coming a long nicely too, Coach! Enjoy getting the lights out!

Testing the lights takes the longest. I know only one light was blown out when we turned them off for the last time last January, today...at least 8 were blown out. Hopefully, the second string of lights is not too bad.

Good morning, everyone!

Sunday has arrived. Despite Thanksgiving Day being on a Monday, most of us up here celebrate everything on the Sunday. It is just so much easier to use Monday for travel purposes. Tonight, I am ready for all the fixings! A few plates full of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing/dressing, beans, and many other delicious foods along with some pumpkin pie will be delicious! As I have always said, I like our date for Thanksgiving because it allows me to dedicate more time to Christmas, but I like the whole American festivities with it landing on a Thursday. It's always nice to have one last holiday as you head into the sprint to Christmas Day. I guess we're all lucky - in North America - to have such a day.

Well, we're heading out to the apple orchard shortly to grab some fresh apples and possibly a few homemade crafts, apple cider and apple cider donuts. Mmmmmm! In previous years, they have also had some beautiful Christmas stuff out. I hope it is the same this year. I'll be sure to have my phone/camera handy.

Highs to reach about 13c/55f today. Sun all day, too. Not bad for the middle of October, and yet another Thanksgiving Day. Oh, and, of course, I'm ready for some football, too! As soon as the Packers game is over, I'll head over to Kim's sisters to begin the festivities. The Packers come first!

Have a great Sunday, everyone! May you continue to enjoy your long weekend!

Enjoy your dinner!!

I actually did have wings! I had honey chipotle wings and they were awesome!!! DH didn't want pizza, so he decided Chili's take-out was on the menu last night - since we were watching some football too, we both decided on the triple dripper, which you can pick three of their appetizers - I got wings, onion rings, and potato skins. It was so yummy! Today, since he's not home, I'm going to make a pizza! LOL

Sounds so yum!!!

I knew my wing woman wouldn't let me down. cheesy

"Happy Holidays with Bing and Frank" is interesting! It's a formerly lost Christmas show that was found and restored. The DVD includes a good panel discussion with some of Bing's and Frank's family members that was taped at the Museum of Broadcasting when the show was debuted after the restoration. They discuss how Bing and Frank worked differently, and they butted heads over a few things.

That is the one I really wanted after I found those DVD's. I am looking forward to watching, especially after seeing clips of it on YouTube.

Great to see you, congrats on being done shopping for your wife.

I love that you are putting your lights up.

Good afternoon,

My wife and I are heading out to the movies in a few, just want to pop in and say hi.
I hope the Bengals pull out this win today, this team is frustrating to watch. arrgggghhh!

Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian members!!!

I'll see you all tonight.

My wife and I just finished with the last string of lights. Wish I could have them on tonight. Sometimes you have to give a little, to get a little. :) Oh well, only 20 more days.

Thank you for all the kind posts!

Mike, that's the sort of stuff we love to hear! It would be great if you would post more often. Thanks for hanging out here reading the posts and listening to the music!

When you DO turn them on, please post photos!

On one of the road I follow on my homeward commute, there's a house that has tall evergreen shrubs on one side of the driveway. They have white lights on those shrubs already, and it makes me smile every time. Last year they had them out about this time, too. On the same road there's a house that has icicle lights on year-round, but a couple sections are burnt out now---they'll have to replace them soon!

I don't have what it takes to do Griswold lighting outdoors, but I like to put a few strings of C9s on the front shrubs before the ground freezes (else I can't get the AC stake in the ground) and train a floodlight on the wreath on the front door (also a deterrent for package thieves!).

Hi everyone, just checking in. I stopped by at the office for just a little bit, so that's why I'm here posting, since I do not have internet at home.....

Missed you guys! But, I am hoping that I will be back in the office on Tuesday and be back here posting again~

All is well, still getting settled in; changed out the locks, still un-packing, replaced a broken interior door, replacing incandescent light bulbs with LED ones, set-up the office, hooked up the computer and printer, got the fireplaces inspected and working, septic tank pumped out, alarm system getting installed tomorrow, carbon monoxide detectors installed, etc....
Yikes, is the weekend almost over already???? LOL~

I am enjoying myself though....I love to do things like that!~ I hope everyone is doing well and is having a nice weekend. I will see you all on Tuesday!!!!!
