Christmas Countdown - 2014

Good morning, everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. Thanksgiving has come and gone. Good times were had. Delicious food was devoured. The weather was even sunny and seasonal. Now, we are nearly halfway through the month of October.

Halway through? Thanksgiving is over? Less than a month until the beginning of the Christmas Season? That means Christmas should be finding its way into stores everywhere now! Incredible.

Well, as you would have guessed, I am teaching again today. I have the first period off, but will be in the classroom for the rest of the day. I would rather have a period at the end or in the middle off, but I will take this. At least I am teaching and not at Passport!

I hope everyone has returned to the workweek all right. Only two more full workweeks of October remain. Then, we're into the month that welcomes the most wonderful Season of the year. Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

we had a wonderful thanksgiving as well, working on the last of the left overs (not counting what is already in the freezer)
Happy to hear you are getting teaching time in. How long does it take before you get your own class ?
I go back to work tomorrow and yes, so looking forward to Christmas arriving!

Happy Tuesday everyone. My son has forgotten how old I am. He got tickets for the two of us plus 2 of his friends to go see Paul McCartney tomorrow night. He is driving home from college tomorrow morning and I am leaving work at noon to make the 3-1/2 hr drive to Atlanta. Concert starts at 8 and McCartney usually plays for 3 hours. Then we drive home and I try to go to work Thursday while Ethan drives almost 3 hrs back to college to make a 1:00 class. I'm grew up a huge Beatles fan and am old enough to remember their Ed Sullivan appearances. I was 6 and sit inches away from our small B/W TV. Saw McCartney in Dallas in the early 90's and can't wait to see him again.

Ethan comes back home Friday evening for his 4 day fall break. Nice to have something to look forward too.

going to be busy but it will be so worth it! Take lots of pictures and wear ear plugs (you will hear things just fine, and still have your hearing when you leave!)
I always loved when the girls came home from college for visits. Enjoy your visit!

Stormy day here today. We have a tornado and a flash flood watch. Forecast calls for 2-4 inches of rain today. Wind will take a lot of the leaves off the trees. This hasn't been a good leave watching year. The good news is cooler weather is coming. Checked out the 5 day forecast for our area and no highs in the 70s. Hopefully no more 70s until spring.

wild weather, praying it will not be as bad as predicted.
We have had a lot of strong winds the past while too and it is leaving trees bare here too.

Good Tuesday Afternoon MMC!! Hope everyone is having a great day and in great spirits!

Rain from that system that went through the south yesterday is moving in already, (hope all our friends in Arkansas and Louisiana are ok, seen the news about the tornados and damage from heavy storms)

I was planning on getting some outside work done today, but with the rain moving in for the next 2 days, I will focus on indoor stuff.

I am making homemade peach cobbler with the last of the fresh peaches, in the oven now, Joan will be home from work soon and I hope to greet her with a nice treat.

I also grated up and froze the last of the zucchini from the garden and put it in the freezer, will make a couple loaves of fresh zucchini bread on a cold winter day in a few months!

Anyway hope everyone is having an awesome day full of the Christmas spirit!! :rudolph:

Good afternoon gang!!! I haven't had a chance to log on all day...it's been another one of "them days!" I miss my daily dose of cheer!!!! I hope you are all having a great day!

Last night we went shopping for a new tv...came home with a 60" smart tv...now I have to figure it out. Oh boy!!!! It looks nice in the room though I think!

I'm feeling much better today!

Yesterday evening I played nurse to my father. Unfortunately he caught the same bug I have. :-(

We are also prepare the diamond wedding anniversary of my grand parents, which will be this sunday. It'll great to see all the relatives again, specially the youngest one. She's just a month old.

Hope your dad feels better soon, Cetacea! Happy early Anniversary to your grandparents! How special! How great you'll be able to see all your family.

Checking in today BEFORE I leave for work … before I left Thursday they warned me there would be a rush job on my desk when I came back, so I'll have to hit the ground running. After four relaxing days with Mr. (except for spending a couple hours troubleshooting a printer problem on Sunday), we both hate to go back to the grind. But the holidays are coming!
