At some point I'll try to post a photo of the Santa. I probably overpaid, but I just couldn't walk away from him.

the storm continues to storm, the snow continues to fall. This system seems to be stuck over us. Ride home even in town was long and slippery.

I slipped and fell coming out of work, landed smack on my knee that I injured last summer. It is tender and turning colors but I can walk ok.
Someone stopped right away to help me to my feet and then to my van, she even cleaned it off for me. Will see how it feels in the morning, but I think it will be fine.

wow, that wind is really rattling the windows ! glad our power is staying on. I think school buses will not be running again tomorrow since this is supposed to go on all night.

I wish you had some of my luck. When I started out this morning, it was nasty, but within 45 minutes the snow had died down and the rest was just navigating on the winding hwy Brent knows all too well - between Hagar and Sudbury it's all curves, rock walls and water. I got off easy as the weather let up and there weren't that many cars on the road.

Hope you didn't do too much damage to your knee.

Good Morning, Practically Perfect 'Pines Preferrers.

Alrighty.
Carl has got the 'Pines decorated to the hilt in traditional fashion.
Lots of red and green with pine cones -- LOTS of pine cones.
(All I can say is I hope you like pine cones!)
Plenty of red and green frosted fired twinkies, of course.
And new this year - fortune fired twinkes.
(Fortune fired twinkies??)
Can't wait to see what's written in those!
Anyway, it should be a magical first Christmas-decorated visit to the 'Pines and I'm looking forward to it.
Hope to see each and every one of you there, too.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Friends!

CAAAAAAAAAAARL - Missed that Camel - glad I made it just in time to grab a little something from that third hump of his.

Those are some crazy snow pics! I bet the folks that live close to the great lakes can't wait until they freeze over thus the stopping of the lake effect snowfall. I just can'tcomprehend that much snowfall...its just nuts!

We've had plenty of snow dumped in our city over the years, but that much at one time is crazy. Good point about the lakes freezing - then it's just some swirling winds blowing snow off the rooftops and such that folks have to bother with. Lake Ontario rarely freezes over completely, but the other ones do.

 So there I was driving along - I have to have music when I drive - my music - not the radio - I grabbed the wrong thumb drive from my desk at work because I needed access to a folder on it - anyway - did I mention I was driving a Ford Explorer (my car is an Elantra - much smaller) - the Explorer was frustrating me a bit because I'm not familiar with where everything is and I'm trying to concentrate on driving, etc. I couldn't even get the interior climate set to my liking - then it happened - that wonderful miracle that took the "ugh" out of my morning - that's right - CHRISTMAS MUSIC emitted from those speakers and I was in my MERRY PLACE!

:hello: It didn't bother me that is was Josh Groban singing BELIEVE or that it was followed by the Chipmunks, Christmas Don't Be Late - it was Christmas music that I didn't know was on that old thumb drive.

For those of you who recall the old chat room days when several of us tuned into Thayrone and The Bone Conduction Music Show - an old download from that program was on my music folder too and popped into my ears when I hit Coniston - so I have some of it left to take me home and then whatever else happens to be on there - I'm just curious now - I have my MP3 Player with me, but I didn't mind discovering something I didn't realize I had added to that music library.

I had some work to do and then I made my way to the hotel - okay I got lost for twenty minutes, but I found it - this city needs to work on their signage - anyway - I'm checking in and what's happening - three employees are decorating the hotel's tree. I got settled in and headed back down to see if I could hang at least one ornament so I could report back to you - but they aren't decorating the rest right now - just leaving the lights on. Oh well, at least I saw the tree lit up and had a touch of Christmas to brighten my day and that's why I always look at the merry side of things.

Any "green fired twinkies left? Where's that camel?
:sparkle:

:celebrate: XMAS 365 you gave me a merry treat when I logged on here this evening and noticed your Christmas Shirt Album - that put a smile on my face too. Thanks for sharing those cool yule tops!

Merry - sorry to hear about Mister's eye troubles. I didn't realize he was having retinal surgery - ouch.

Hilli-ho! I'm going to be in the local Santa Claus Parade on Sunday - I usually go and take photos, but I've been working on a costume since Halloween and I just have to "crash a merry float" and join in this year.

On the 29th it's the Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas Walk and I'll likely get there as well - and on the 30th, my folks and I are going to the local production of Miracle on 34th Street the Musical - hope I don't get kicked out for singing along. HaHaHoHo!

Have a grand evening, everybody!

Glad your daughter & you are feeling better!

Keeping Sophia in my thoughts & prayers, poor sweetie [emoji175]

xx

Glad to hear that you and your daughter are both feeling better!!!!

I hope Sophia recovers quickly and that the next visit isn't so rough on her!!!!

Enjoy your evening, HMG!!!!!!!

I'm glad your daughter is better and that Sophia's appointment is over and she is home resting. Praying her next visit won't be so hard! I hope your headache meds kicked in quick, too. {{{HUGS}}}

Thank you so much!
xx

Thank you all! I got home with him about 3 p.m. We won't really know until his follow-up tomorrow how extensive the surgery was, but it didn't take quite as long as we were told to expect, so I hope that means it wasn't terribly severe. Happily, they didn't inject a gas bubble, which complicates the recovery. He'll have to use three different eyedrops a few times a day for a couple months while it heals. I'm hoping he'll be cleared to work again soon---he was itching to start work for the temp agency when this hit. Fingers crossed and prayers for a good recovery. (And for my nerves, too, which are pretty shot after all that has gone on in the past few weeks.)

After I got Mr. home, I decided it would be a good time to go to the local garden center and wander through the Christmas displays, gifts, and decorations. (Mr. was okay enough to leave alone.) I swore I wasn't going to spend money on myself, but I fell in love with a ceramic Santa with a sack in which you can put candy canes or other treats. I'd like to fill it with candy canes and put it on my desk at work this season. (Not sure where, because I also need space for my little Christmas tree!)

I'm happy to hear that the surgery went well, continued prayers for a speedy recovery.
The ceramic Santa sounds beautiful. I'm glad you treated yourself, you deserve it!

Thank you ... Yes ... Second time this year ... First one eye, then six months later the other eye. (One month after he was laid off, yet.) Hoping for an easy and lasting recovery, and hoping insurance will cover most of it.

Thank you very much.
The Santa IS beautiful, and I DID deserve a treat, but I feel a little guilty about spending on myself. But I know I'll enjoy it year after year.

Well with all the arctic air and so much snow around, Carl is unveiling a new hot tub tonight...

Who's up for it?

Saw this on Twitter from Buffalo. Umm, I hope they have enough food to last until spring!!

I was reading they are supposed to get 3 more feet of snow tomorrow. Some will have a total of 8 feet on the ground when all is said and done. WOW!

Good morning!
Woke up with another headache, this is becoming a daily thing with me. Just waiting for my medicine to kick in and then I'll be heading to Target for a few things. Little Sophie has her first veterinarian appointment this afternoon. My daughter also has a doctor appointment after school, she's been having some tummy issues the past couple of days. She said she felt a bit better this morning so maybe it's just a little virus, we'll see. Anyway, I hope everyone is well and has a nice day. I'll see you later!
