Christmas Countdown - 2014

Oh no!! That freezing rain can go away! Snow only!! :smile: Stay safe ~ and warm!!! It was nearly 50º when I came to work today, but now I think the temp is dropping - or it feels like it anyway!

I know, it was 45 degrees at 4:00 am, now it is in the 20's!

Merry Tuesday!

It is the week before Christmas and we are all in the 'it's christmas' spirit . What I mean by that is , it's become the running excuse for everything lol.

Kids want to stay up a little later - ok, it's Christmas.
An extra slice of cake or two - why not it's Christmas.

I hope you are all ready or getting there by now. I am still shopping and organising etc but everything is falling into place.

Kids and Mr Festive finish school and work on Friday for a two week break. I can't wait but at the same time I want the next few days to take it's time!

I can't believe we're a little over a week away from Christmas. This month has absolutely flown by!

Has anyone started baking yet? Finished baking? I have plans to get started near the end of the week since we don't freeze anything.

Nice to see you Jennifer!!! We made cookies & candy over the weekend. I still have a few candies I want to make, but I'm close to being done with that. Now if only the same were true for shopping!

I only had 1 sip of apple pie, but yes, it tasted pretty delicious. I had never made it before, so it was an experiment.

On Candy day at my Moms (Sunday) I made chocolate peanut butter cups, & chocolate maple nut goodies. My Mom/Dad made peanut brittle. My oldest sister made fudge, my next sister made chow mein noodle candy, my next sister made white chocolate covered pretzels, & those round pretzels with a Hershey's kiss melted in the middle & a red or green M & M on top. My nieces made truffles dipped in white chocolate. My SIL made ritz/town house type crackers with peanut butter spread between 2 crackers then dipped in chocolate. I still want to make sponge candy & round pretzels with a Hershey hug melted in the middle & red/green M & M on top. Possibly the Oreo cookie balls too?! IF time allows. Lol! I also made 3 batches of peanut brittle.

I will have to look up Pizzelles?? Sounds interesting!

A few months ago I gathered approximately three bags of pine cones a chipmunk had tossed off the trees. I piled them near the house where the rain could clean them and the sun would dry them out so that I could make a few pine cone wreaths or a tree. In the past few days, the chipmunk has stolen almost every single one of them and apparently has ripped them apart. There are pine cone petals all over the place! The little stinker!!! cheesy

She does have a milk intolerance but this is more to do with the fact that she just doesn't like to go to school since the divorce started.


That's a bummer!!!! It sounds like he had quite a good time with them though!!!!!

Good morning MMC! Happy Tuesday!!

My night took a turn for the better since I posted last night! After going to the stores & taking Gracie for a walk, my friend texted & asked if her & her daughter could come over! They arrived within 10 minutes & brought me these wreaths for our new patio doors! (I have been looking)



They ended up staying for awhile & when my hubby came home, he had a bottle of wine he rec'd from a customer... so we decided maybe we should drink it! :lol: Pink Moscato Raspberry. It was just ok, but we enjoyed the visit! After they left I made 9 qts. of Apple Pie. Now I can give some of those away as gifts (If my hubby lets me...ha ha!) It turned into a festive Monday night! :grin: Tis the season!!!

Well my sister just picked up my niece so I may finally be able to get some stuff done. The only thing that she really complained about while here is that her mom never got her a chocolate advent calendar. She went on and on about it until I finally gave in and ran to the grocery store and got her and her sister both one. She was excited about the concept of catching up on it tonight but I don't think her mom is going to go for that. I'm pretty sure she will make them stretch it out over a couple of days.
