Christmas Countdown - 2015

[Holiday]

Good evening,

It started snowing a little before 4pm here, I have been too lazy to check outside since, but like MC it is supposed to be the worst after midnight.
It was a very busy day with everyone panic shopping, the news really has gotten people scared for this storm, comparing it to the Blizzard of '78 which seems to be the modern day standard bearer for all major storms in this area to be compared to. They have trimmed our estimate down a little, now we should only expect 2 feet instead of 2.5ft.
My wife is watching her show The Bachelor, while I am here at MMC and listening to some Quo. It took me over 2 hours to get caught up tonight, busy chatters on here today. cheesy

I am 99.9% sure I won't be heading in to work tomorrow, the inventory was canceled, and just for safety sake I will stay home unless this thing somehow misses us. We will probably end up being closed anyway.

Merry Morning all.

I am tired.

Just dropped Jacob to school. There was a special assembly this morning to hand out achievement awards and he got one for is math progress. I am glad he made it in after being off for the past few days. I am now getting ready to take Isaac to the Doctor in a bit. He had a terrible night. I thought he was improving. Our doctor's office is around the corner from our house so luckily it takes literally a minute to get there.

Thankfully we did not lose power. My area has a snowfall total of about 20 inches so far. The snow is still falling and is supposed to continue through the afternoon so I'm sure we're looking at a few more inches. It's still windy out there and the snow is swirling around, looks like a snowglobe. The travel ban has just been lifted but they're urging people to stay home since the roads remain dangerous. So glad we can just relax and stay in today!

Not too much going on today. This storm should be moving out of here this afternoon and then we'll start to dig out. Well I'm not sure if I'll be shoveling since I came down with this cold, I'll see how I feel later. I have to wash and dry a couple of loads of laundry and I'm going to make a pot of beef vegetable soup for dinner. Other than I just plan on just taking it easy. I hope everyone is well. Stay safe & keep warm everyone!

That's pretty much what I heard on the radio a short while ago. There are about 23,000 without power on the South Shore and Cape. We are not so near the coast, so we have power and about 14 inches of snow so far. Can't open the back storm door, and after a few more inches we won't be able to open the front storm door, either. The wind is wild out there. The peak of the storm is to last for a few hours yet, but snow will continue through the wee hours at less intensity. Wish I could relax and enjoy it, but I have to work from home today.

Most of our clients are also in New England, so I'm hoping there isn't much activity today. But then again, they could be working online too! At least I'm warm and safe at home and can have a hot lunch.

Good morning mmc! it's wimpy 30F outside this morning...but still I had to jack the heat up to 72F. Now I am about to head back to bed since the boys ate breakfast and want a nap time! Hope everyone has a great morning..hope you all have power..that storm looks crazy on the sattalite loop!

back from the doc, another week in this cast and another 2 to 4 weeks of 4 hour shifts at work. Go back to doc in 2 weeks and will find out then if I need physio or not.
So not to bad, will be glad to take this cast off !

Not much going on here today. Last night was pretty uneventful. Stopped at Mom & Dads after work. Dad is in good spirits, so that's a very good thing. We had leftovers for supper, so that was easy. I watched Maid In Manhatten on tv. That's about it. I'm freezing at work for some reason today ~ might have to bump up the thermostat a degree!

Good Morning! I'm being a slacker this morning. I woke up at 5 am, got up, looked out the window and saw that everything was covered with snow again. So, I turned off the alarm clock and went back to bed.... I didn't wake up till 9:30. I had remote logged into the offices computer and had signed out this morning till noon.

So, looks like we did get a few of the Nor'easter storm snow bands to wrap around and linger over central Maryland early this morning while everyone was in bed sleeping. I guess it looks like about 3 inches outside total...

I'm going to drink another cup of coffee, then get dressed and go fire up the tractor and clear the road out.....

Thanks! We've heard from a couple clients this morning already, though, so I expect there'll be more jobs throughout the day.

The snow and wind are still pretty wild here. The wind has forced snow between the screens and the windows. The drifts are astonishing. It's going to take a while to dig out when this finally ends early tomorrow!

Good Afternoon, MMC!!!!! I'm glad to see that everyone is safe and sound so far in the northeast!!!! I hope you can all get dug out soon!!! It's going to be a chilly day here with a high around 30 degree's. We met with the rep from the lawyers office this morning and signed the papers for them to appeal mom's disability ruling. He said the first appeal usually only takes 4 to 5 weeks to hear back on. It runs about 94% denials though. Then the second appeal is in front of a judge and can take almost a year to get a date. So hopefully she will be one of the 6% that gets approved on the first review because I can't really afford to support her for another 12 to 14 months. I have a few things to do and then I will be back to get caught up. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!

Hope you all are staying safe! My brother in cape cod said it's blowing 60 mph & they got 12" of snow, with another 12 in coming in the next 24 hours. He said so far they still have power, but much of the cape is out. Hoping they can keep their power. Scary!

good to hear the storm was not nearly as bad as predicted for some of you. I hear the winds will be spreading around the joy for awhile. That same system is moving into our east coast today.

Off to see the dr, did I say I do not like going there? Oh well, tons of forms to fill out since it happened at work.

Well, the rain has stopped but it's turning colder.

Mild considering what is happening to the northeast, but chilly for us.

Today has begun at 33 degrees here in the central NC part of MMC.
