Christmas Countdown - 2015

Sounds so fun and cozy! around here it's been too warm for a fire, but I know the east has really been rockin so far this winter! stay warm!

It has been a fun evening! As far as the cold temps, yes, it has been very cold! I'm just laying by the fire now, waiting for DH, so we can relax and watching a movie. He's trying to get DS to fall asleep. He's always the one to put them to bed usually, since I'm napping at that time, so he usually likes daddy to put him to bed all the time! Hopefully he'll fall asleep soon! He's not a very good sleeper!

We are just waiting for Sophia's bloodwork results, the doctor should have them by Saturday. If all is well then Sophia can go in with Rosie on Tuesday and they will both be spayed. Not looking forward to it, can't wait until it's behind us. Poor things.
Dinner came out yummy. This is the recipe I used. I shredded the chicken even though the recipe didn't call for it. Everyone liked it. Two of my girls ate it over rice and one made a sandwich with coleslaw on the side.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbeque

Ingredients

6 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
12 oz bottle of barbeque sauce
1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Place chicken in a slow cooker. Mix remaining ingredients in a bowl, pour over chicken
Cover & cook 3 to 4 hours on high or 6 to 8 hours on low

Yummy!!!

Well after I called in sick at work I laid down with the boys and we all took a 3 hour nap, and now I feel good as new, and I fell guilty about calling in! If I would have felt this good I would have not called in, but I guess you always need to be careful and not infect ppl at work just in case right? right? well In any case today turned out to be a good day, you how every once in a while you have days that are just better than others for no reason other than the mood and atmosphere and all, I am about to cook dinner, we will have salmon cakes and peas and Pillsbury reduced fat biscuits! better go get started, I hope everyone is keeping warm out east!! Those temps are crazy especially coming up this weekend, and the deep south looks to be getting in on the action at the beginning of the work week! Have a great early evening everyone!

They say it's going to be so cold this weekend, though, that it'll be below the temps where rock salt is effective. But I could save it for later!

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

Mrs. Hilda is scheduled to be released one week from today! I'm looking forward to that, and I KNOW she is. We'll take her to rehab (or maybe arrange in-home rehab), but she's too homesick to stay any longer. It's been over two months! Plus, tomorrow night is the last night that Nancy will be staying with her. I'll be glad to have my wife back home to stay.

Going to lunch with mom and my brother soon.

My brother was too sick to have lunch with us today. He has a doctor's appointment this afternoon.

Anyway, I went by his shop to drop off a sandwich for him, and he showed me the work he's been getting done on the Camaro. We put the heads on the block last week, and he's put the intake on and the huge Holley 750 carburetor. We have some awesome Edelbrock valve covers on it, and billet aluminum belt pulleys. We also have an aluminum radiator/electric fan setup. I gotta buy some lifters, and maybe a chrome alternator. So it's starting to be fancy looking (like it was before we really got started!). We're just about ready to crank it, even if it's not close to drivable yet.

Good evening everyone. My daughter made it to DC safe & sound. I ended up getting a migraine though because it was all a bit too stressful for me. My husband refused to take a train in and insisted on driving. We got stuck in traffic and the bus left without her. Thankfully there was another leaving an hour later and she got the last seat on that one. We sat in more traffic on the way home. I just can not handle driving through the city. It's crazy. I think I aged 10 years today, its so nerve wracking. I'm dreading taking the ride back in to get her. I'm going to turn in, I'm sure I'll feel better in the morning. Keeping you all in my thoughts. I'll see you in the morning. Goodnight!

Me too! Thank heaven they just filled the oil tank a few days ago. I hope the electricity doesn't go out. We have a blizzard warning for late Saturday into Sunday. I sure hope it's the last for a long while.

I am finally caught up!!!

Another rockin and rollin day at work with people panic shopping yet again for yet another snowstorm. I don't know what they are doing with all the food they are buying for all these storms. cheesy

Tomorrow shall be another busy one with the snow starting in the afternoon, it has endangered our date at the Mexican restaurant. We are playing it by ear and going to see how bad it is going to be, it seems whenever we plan something it gets canceled for some reason.

I need to head to bed, busy busy busy tomorrow need to get my rest.
