sounds like a very productive day, at least the toilet is an easy fix

Uggghhh, the famous word....It all started, when I went to remove the bolts from the bottom of the toilet, one of the bolts was never installed, tightened all the way down, hence, why the toilet moved in the first place.... It took me a half hour alone to get that one, stubborn brass bolt out. But, I did it, next, I pulled up the toilet (after I shut-off the water valve, disconnected the supply hose, drained all of the water out of the tank and bowl with a sponge) and there it was... A wax ring, that was never installed correctly, coupled with a bolt never tightened down all the way and when I pulled up the toilet, it was not a pretty site, let me tell you, what a mess!!!! It took me another hour to clean up that mess and the mess that was under the toilet...(I'm not happy at the moment as you can imagine).

After I got that done, the toilet is all cleaned inside and out, gleaming like a mirror, what did I do, I propped the toilet against a wall and it fell over and a part inside the tank broke. Maybe it was a blessing, because upon taking the tank apart, I discovered that all of the rubber seals and gaskets were disintegrated, the brass bolts corroded and the plastic components brittle to the point of breaking (the results of years of hard well water). Now I have the water treated, so it should never be a problem again....

After I get it all torn apart, I go up to Home Depot and Lowes, and they are both closed for the evening.....Nice....Just nice...:x

So, all I can do is stuff a rag down the sanitary pipe and call it a night!

I need a chocolate fix...

I am cold just reading you guys's posts! We are packing for out trip in the morning, we want to be on the road by 8am so we can check into the hotel at 1pm. The temps will be colder in Wyoming than here in ogden but still nothing like the single digits or anything like that. There is a decent amount of snow chances but I am mostly looking forward to the awesome skiing and mountain views from 9000 ft elevation! I hope the roads are not too bad, just in case we are going in Brandi's SUV! I will take my laptop but I am not sure we will have good internet service...I will be back weds though. I will stop back in tonight and probably in the morning because I can never sleep the night before I geteway! Have a good evening everyone!

Man, that toilet just killed my night! I still have to sand the bathroom wall one last time and cleanup that mess, and get myself ready for work tomorrow!

And I never even got to the electrical work, which my default, will have to wait, till another day~
I think I deserve a milkshake tonight......:}

As long as it stays on that path and doesn't shift northward you can have all you want. cheesy

Here's the latest map, the storm has shifted more north again, then the previous map I posted... That 6-12 inch range is creeping closer and closer to me....

At least it was just a warning. I hope you were able to get that milkshake.

Can you get pulled over for talking on Bluetooth? Every state has different laws...I would expect some states to have more rules than others. I try not to talk on cell phone or blue tooth at all, sometimes you can't help it.(I guess you could always say you were talking to yourself.lol

Good evening everyone. My daughter comes home tomorrow. Trying to psych myself up for another trip in to the city to pick her up. She ended up going in to a Verizon store today and got a new IPhone. The only problem is she took the upgrade that I was due for in a couple of weeks. Guess I'll have to wait a little while longer. I spoke with her earlier and she's having a great time. They did some sightseeing today, she's been sending me some great photos. She would like to go back and visit when the weather is warmer, she said its freezing there too. Anyway, I'm going to turn in. I will see you in the morning. Keeping you all in my prayers. Goodnight!

It is getting colder -4*f now with wind chill it is feeling like -24*f. I am glad we don't have to go out tonight.

The time has come for me to retire for the night.

I hope you all had a great Sunday.

Goodnight, friends.

Goodnight, Xmas!!!!

Well I tried to take a nap, but I dozed off and now I have about 6 hours until we leave for our trip...I remember when we use to go on vacation as a kid we never slept the night before, we were just too excited same thing this time...but I need to at least try once more...driving while tired does not mix.
