Good morning! It is going to be such a nice day today, sunny, high of 81 that I took a vacation day. I have to run out for a few hours and take my grandfather to a routine heat doctor check-up and then I will be back home and I'll set up some saw horses outside and continuing working in the basement.

I kicked some serious behind down there yesterday, I got the entire basement all insulated with R-19 and started installing the vapor barrier on the walls. Next, instead of installing sheetrock, I'm going to install 1/2 inch plywood on the walls since it will be a storage room. That way, you an hang whatever on the walls and it gives me a good solid wall to support the new shelving on... It's all one big master plan up in my brain; that could be could or bad, but it usually does cost money, and that's where I get myself into trouble with the Mrs.....

Well, I'm going to finish my coffee and then I'll be on the road for the next several hours. See ya all later...

Hope your grandfather's appointment went well and that you are having fun working in the basement.

Have a great day, Xmastidings!!

Good morning, everyone!

It is a beautiful morning in Ottawa. The sun is shining and we're already in the upper teens/60s. Thunderstorms are in the forecast for tonight. Nicely, these storms won't bring any cooler temperatures. We're forecasted to be in the upper 20s (maybe even 80s) later this week!

Overall, it was a fun weekend. I had a blast celebrating with some good friends on Saturday night. We just stayed in and played some games.

I didn't get off to a great start of the week this morning. Simon has been having some difficulties sleeping in over the past few weeks. We think it is the earlier sunrise. The cat is waking up and making loud noises around 5am. It is not enjoyable at all. We're not sure how to make him stop. When he wants to be, he's a very loud cat!

Well, I should return to work. I'm at Russell again today. I have an easy day. One class might be a little difficult, but the other two should be great!

The first full week of May is finally here. Buds are finally turning into leaves and green will soon be seen as far as the eye can see.

Have a great Monday, everyone! Here's hoping you get the week off on the right foot.

I hope Simon gets his sleep schedule figured out soon!!!

Hope you had fun teaching today!!

Good Afternoon, Snowflakemom!!! I hope they got your computer fixed!!

I haven't been able to figure out what weekend will be the full CIJ event on qvc. The normal sources have been tight lipped about their schedules this year. Valerie just posted today that she will have a heartfelt holidays show on July 1st though. So it looks like we may get a whole month of scattered Christmas shows like last year.

Thanks Made!! My computer is back up and running!

Good to know about QVC...thanks! Hard to believe July 1st is less than 2mths away?

Good morning!
Happy Monday!
Not too much going on here today, typical day of errands and chores. It's going to be sunny and warm today, temperatures will be in the mid 70's. My middle daughter has off today and was talking about going to the beach with her friend. I'll have to ask her to send me some pictures of the ocean if she goes. My husband did a lot of work in the back yard over the weekend, it looks good. The pool is clearing up quickly this year too. My father has a big birthday coming up next month and I'll be having the party here in the back yard. I'll concentrate on that after I host the Mother's Day brunch!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Hope you are having a great day, HMG!! I hope your daughter had fun at the beach if she went!!

Good Morning, Friends and Countrymen.

Lend me your eyes, to behold this:
Days to the Season: CXCIII
Days to Christmas Day: CCXXXV

(Hey, what can I say?
I'm feeling a little Roman this morning.)

And our next Milestone?
Why, it's only XI days away.
SINGLE DIGITS after tomorrow!

(And that's really something to write Rome - er - home about!)

Another really nice day was experienced here yesterday.
Lots of sun, calm winds, no rain, negligible pollen, low humidity and temps in the 70's.
(It just doesn't get any better than that around here!)
We should get slowly warmer during the week.
This morning has greeted us with 58 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everybody!

Umm, my mind hurts now!! LOL!!

I hope you have a great day, Crown!!!

You have more vacation time than anyone I know!

Also...PEGBOARD! I love my pegboard in my shop!

Ha-ha...Yea, I know it does seem like I take off a lot. I get around 6 weeks of vacation and sick time and what I do is usually, just take a day here, a day there, (usually coincides with a Monday or Friday) to take a long weekend or something like that.

We really haven't taken a for real vacation, vacation (on a road trip), in like 2 or 3 years, so I have like all this time saved up. This year, we are doing the Disney, Universal, Sea World trip for about 2 weeks...Nice break in the action and I love to head to Florida...

Pegboard...Good Idea!!! Didn't think about that one; duh!!!! that would work beautiful in this little part of the basement that I am converting it into like this little art studio...

Now that you've brushed up on Roman numerals---watch the opening credits of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and note the copyright date ... major error!

That's an interesting trivia sort of thing....:rudolph:

Good evening, friends~

Enjoy your night!

Good afternoon/evening. I ended up spending most of the day with my grandfather and at the doctors office. About 6 hours total of driving, doctor and pharmacy.... I have to take him for some follow up test because the heart doctor detected that he is retaining water again and he would like my grandfather to have additional test to test for congestive heart failure. Me, I call it old age (96.5). So, I have to take him next week for an ECHO, xray and blood work and then the doc wants to see him again in a month. It is what it is. Days like this, I just take one of my vacation days and spend it with him; kinda no rush sort of day....

I didn't really get into doing anything with the basement today, just didn't have the time to really get into it. So, I just asked my son to give me a hand carrying building supplies into the house so they won't tomorrow if it rains (like they are calling for it to do so). Plus that way, it's in the house and I don't have to worry about them.

Well, hope everyone is enjoying their day so far....

Thank you very much ladies... I sincerely thank you both for your thoughts and prayers.

I think he is doing ok, but I can tell that time is catching up with him and yes, it is now becoming difficult for him to walk more than 100 feet and things like that but I look at it as my goodness, he's 96....God bless all what he can do... I am wrong for thinking like that?

I know one thing, he made me promise to him for me not to go above and beyond with medical care. He said to me "that if it is time for the good Lords calling, then don't hold me back....!" What can I say to that other that I told him that I would respect his wishes, to the wats of my own wishes....
