We just went around the block - not even a mile since she was so hot. There is even a nice breeze today! She's possibly a little wimpy! cheesy

Well gang, I'm going to log off here so I can get stuff closed up here at work, then I'm off to plant marigolds in the front of the garden & the 3 cubanelle pepper plants that were delivered today, then I need to go home & take clothes off the line & figure out what's for supper and THEN I'm off to the Pines!!!! Hope to see you all there!!

Have a fantastic evening!!!

Good morning, everyone!

Oh! I have a somewhat funny story... While I was in Montreal this weekend for my friend's bachelor party, I was alone at the end. They had all left to catch their planes back to Toronto. I was the only one taking the train back home (to Ottawa). I had about three hours to kill. I searched and found a year-round Christmas store "Noel Eternal" in Old Montreal. This excited me a lot! It was only about a 20 minute walk. I made the trek and saw the building. I was so excited to see Christmas...

Then, I arrived and the front windows were papered and there was a sign that said it was closed and would re-open in June. Renovations. Such a let down. The only real good thing from this is that Kim will be in Montreal in late June. She said she'd visit and hopefully purchase me something. I was really looking forward to sharing some photos with everyone. Hopefully Kim will take a few for me next month.
I am going to be in Montreal in August, I will be sure to check it out.

Too bad. No chance to get some "pre-Blossoms" photos!
(Can you believe the Blossoms thread launch is only about 4 months away?)

I was more excited for this than the bachelor party festivities! Perhaps Kim can help me with some pre-Blossoms next month.

4 months away? We are 2/3 of the way to its debut! Such a splendid occasion!

Great, Star. That makes me feel much better!! Glad one of us will get to enjoy it.

Good evening, MMC!

Have a merry night!

HmG, prayers for Maggie. Hope your errands went well and that you are having a nice day!

Made, belated Happy Birthday wishes to you! Best of luck at the job fair(s)! Continued prayers for your mom and you.

Brad, I hope your area gets some rain soon! Awesome that Jacob and his band are on the radio!

Good afternoon, MMC!

Two days in a row a May 2015 record for me. cheesy

The storm just nicked us last night ~ looked extremely bad on radar, but all we ended up getting was a lot of wind (a few fallen trees) and a slight downpour. Thank you for all the well wishes!

The beans I planted last week went from nothing showing to over 2 inches in height overnight. That is incredible! This year's garden is in two spots. One 32 foot row planted both sides of the fence that is in the middle. My modification of the Square Foot Gardening system. There are beans on one side, San Marzano tomatoes, poblano chili and Anaheim chili peppers the other. I still have 16 feet to plant, but haven't decided what is going in as of yet. In the other garden I planted zucchini and in a tub I have kale and leeks. So far everything is looking good. Doesn't look like there will be a lot of fruit this year, but the past couple of years' winters have been so hard it isn't all that surprising. Anyhow, with this garden system there should be a lot less weeding to do so I can tackle the overgrown borders and other areas that have been neglected far too long. I am finally feeling a lot better than I have in a few years so I have quite a few plans for outside projects.

Palmer is doing well. She has inspired my brother to write a book about her; he has written two chapters already and I have had the privilege of reading the rough drafts. It was hilarious, but then so is Palmer. :wiggy: The other cats are doing well although a few of them have wandered off over the past 6 months. There might be a litter of kittens in the woods ~ haven't found them yet, but the signs are there.

A few visitors to the "farm" of late: a female turkey that walks up the driveway and around the backyard, gobbling all the time; Rocky, the cat food-stealing raccoon that has move in during the past few weeks; a pair of Blue Jays have nested right outside the bathroom window so I cannot open it up for fear of scaring them; a huge tuxedo cat that stalks Bottle, the former stray that now lounges around on the patio furniture. And of course, Alvin, the pine cone-hating chipmunk who likes to sit in the walnut tree and chatter nonstop for what seems like hours. Got to love the country!

Be safe and MERRY, MMC!!!

Glad that you are feeling so well!

And that you stayed safe in the storms.

Your garden sounds like it's coming along nicely, too.

Say hi to all of the animals, your area sounds so beautiful and peaceful.

Have a merry evening, Meceka!!
