Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good morning MMC! HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I'm not sure that I'll be able to catch up on here since I was off work yesterday & I only work a half day today, but I'm sure going to try!!

I had a great day with Mom yesterday. She was feeling pretty good. She said she felt a little shaky in the morning but she looked & acted fine. After her afternoon nap, she felt great. We snapped, blanched & froze green beans. I fried, crumbled, & froze a pkg of bacon. We made cut out cookies. We had homemade tomato soup, grilled cheese, asparagus from the garden & melon my sister had cut up for lunch. She crocheted. We went to the "beauty parlor" ~ a cut for me, & mom had her hair done. We went to the grocery store. She sat outside with me while I hung clothes on the line, but we decided it was TOO HOT to stay out there. We went out for Mexican for supper with some of the family. Gracie was in heaven having Grandma over all day! It was a fun day! Here was Moms ride from my sisters house to our house on Wednesday night!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! I'm melting already and it's not even 9am yet. Yesterday was our first 90 degree day and today looks to be more of the same. Where is all of that snow when you need it? LOL!!! After my crazy day of adventures yesterday, I have to get some stuff done around here today. Laundry is the top priority but I hate to run the dryer when it's this hot. I don't really have a choice though. So I'll just have to run the A/C longer than I would like too. Other than that, I might run to the grocery. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

Stay cool made! You have another day of it today!! Whew! I thought it was super warm in Moms house Wed night! Slept with a fan all night & was still roasting. I texted my bro in the morning & he came over - sure enough her AC wasn't working cuz a breaker tripped! No wonder I was roasting!!!!! LOL!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

We got a lot of rain yesterday, and Elizabeth's garden jumped 6" overnight! We'll be eating fresh tomatoes and squash before you know it.

Tomorrow is Mama's birthday, but Jacob has a gig and our weekend-long family reunion starts tomorrow night, so we're having her over for burgers by the pool this afternoon. That is, assuming the rain will hold off.

Our family reunion lasts for 3 days, and we rent a facility that has an industrial kitchen, dining hall, dorms and a swimming pool. We have a big time, with homemade ice cream one night and boiled peanuts the next night. I'm always tapped to cook breakfast for 50 folks on Sunday morning. It sounds daunting, but I enjoy it. I like using that big skillet-top stove. I feel like a short order cook at the Waffle House.

Just checking in on everybody before the workday heats up. (That's an oxymoron, considering how cold it gets in here!) Thinking positive thoughts for everyone, and wishing I could send a bushel of good luck. So many people are having bad times this year.

Good evening everyone.
I can't thank you all enough for your prayers. I am completely devastated over the loss of Molly. She was the first dog I ever owned. We brought her home when my youngest started Kindergarten. I was lonely with the girls in school all day and Molly filled that void. She was a loving companion, incredibly sweet and made me smile every single day. My heart hurts and my arms are aching to hold her. I will miss her forever.

(((HUGS))) We have & have had several Yorkies come & go in our family & they are just the sweetest little stuffed animal cute dogs! My boss has one of my brothers Yorkie's puppies. Everybody just loves them - they are so loveable! My heart hurts for you!

Good morning everyone. I only have a few minutes, my husband and I have an appointment in a little while with Molly's surgeon. There are a few things that need to be addressed and I was too distraught on Wednesday to discuss them. Other than that it will be a typical day here. Trying to stay close to Maggie, she seems lost without Molly here. Just trying to give her extra attention and love. I'll try and pop back in this afternoon. Hope everyone is well.

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!
That's when we arrive at the fifty percent Milestone to Christmas Day 2015.
(Well, I would say that's plenty to be excited about for one day!)


Even more warm and humid as we approach 90 degrees for our afternoon highs, with mid-90's predicted for the days ahead.
(With no rain in the forecast, it won't be long before the grass will start crunching under foot again.)
We have started this last day of the work week at 76 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina.

Just got some terrible news ~ our friend & mechanic at the marina ~ his oldest son was killed in a car crash last night! UGH!!! Don't know any details other than that! I'm so sad for them!!! Our friend is divorced & he has 1 other younger son. Please keep them in your prayers.
