Christmas Countdown - 2015

Fireworks here last night until well after midnight. Then we had baby cries at 2:00 and then at 4:30 until about 6:00.



I'm trying to talk myself into getting up, but I just don't know if I want to do that. LOL. It's beautiful here....81 degrees and a slight breeze. Think I'm gonna feel little girl lunch and go outside and play with her.



Baby is doing great. She is snoozing and so is her Momma...I've got taco soup cooking and we plan on watching either the race or the soccer match.

I feel the same way. I mute the non-patriotic music.

"A Capital Fourth" last night on PBS was not bad. Skipped over the "standard" music but three Sousa tunes were played
at the end and there were several other patriotic style songs earlier in the show.

Yay! Happy to hear that! We skipped both the Pops and the Capitol Fourth, watching our own holiday programming. The Music Choice Sounds of the Season channel was playing a fair amount of Sousa. His marches are the soundtrack of our summer!

I may have mentioned that the U.S. Marine Band is producing (over several years) recordings of ALL of Sousa's marches, chronologically. They released the first volume on their website as a free download, including full scores and supplementary info! Go to their website and click on the Audio Resources tab. You can download the Volume 1 music as a zip file; for the extra materials, you have to download the songs individually.

Enjoy your days off! My office surprised us by giving us Monday off as well as the 3rd.

That was great of them to give you an extra day. Enjoy it.

I was going to take it as a vacation day ... so I just realized now it's a holiday, so I save one vacation day! Yes!
