Well, I finally got the freezer defrosted and the kitchen and bathroom floors done while the cable company was messing up my airwaves. My husband says the only time I choose to do housework is when the internet is down. HaHa. There's probably some truth in that statement.
I think O'Malley the cat was a hamster in a former life. Whenever I'm cleaning, he starts faking a cough and behaving oddly because I also have to rearrange the furniture and sweep and vacuum the carpet and area rugs (to get rid of his fur and dander). He panics a bit and then when I'm finished and everything is back in place, he sprawls out and let's out a big sigh, says, "maaa" like he's glad I'm finished and then goes and fetches a bit of food from his dish.
Now he's napping on the sofa and I'm about to have a wee nap myself (not on the sofa).
My husband and I have plans for later so I'll catch up with y'all tomorrow. Stay Jolly!

Well, break out the jingle bells and turn on those happy Christmas lights, because our next milestone is now only a week away!!!
Crown84 I'm sure will tell us all about this when he's back on Sunday morning, but our 3/4 mark to the season's beginning is one week from today!
Time sure is flying faster than Santa's sleigh, isn't it?
MUCH cooler here today after storms again last night. The high isn't even 80 degrees! But it's also cloudy and rainy. Hope everyone is staying cool and getting ready for a rockin' weekend!

Looking forward to a GREAT day today--FINALLY am not traveling anywhere for the weekend...which really means the summer is drawing to a close for me. Summer is always filled with so many different plans and so much travel, so many schedules to juggle...it can feel exhausting. I'm really looking forward to having this afternoon and all weekend off!! Lots of cleaning and organizing to be done around the house, but that's glorious compared to travel right now!! Perhaps a little Christmas music or movie marathon is in order while I do that!
Hope everyone has a swell day! I can't believe how fast August is passing. Wow. Soon it'll be September!

Thanks - it was going really well, until I was getting ready to leave and it got busy and I end up having to stay an hour past my time, so that wasn't to bad!

Jim made it to Michigan yesterday. They had happy hour & dinner last night, then had breakfast at 4am this morning & on the boat by 5am! He sent pictures at 6am this morning of them on the boat. So I sent him a picture of Gracie laying next to me on the bed & told him his spot has been taken over. HA!
Gracie & I stayed at the lake & I went out with neighbors to dinner (which they wouldn't let me pay for!) so we stopped at the bar/restaurant close to our trailers & I bought them a night cap. It was a good evening! We got up early this morning & headed home & now I'm at work til noon & we'll head back to the lake!

I finished with the lawn yesterday, just in time to shower, eat, and catch the debate.
Today is the weekly lunch my brother and I have with our mom, so I'm looking forward to that. We haven't had a chance to do this in a few weeks. This is the last Friday that the kids will be out of school, so I'll be missing that soon, too. Time flies!

Yesterday was a hard visit for me as it was the first time I was there when the "caretaker" showed up to fix her lunch and take her out for her walk around the block. I thought it so odd that my dad and I were in the same room and both of us capable of tending to her needs. I realized that I'm on holidays so I wouldn't normally stop by to visit during the day and my dad was between tasks (he's in Real Estate - doesn't punch a steady clock) so we just happened to be there. My dad told me that she receives home-care twice a week because she can't make the same excuses not to exercise with her helper the way she does with us. After my mom's stroke 7 years ago, she suffered other mishaps because her perception is off-kilter and she can't tell shadows from pavement and carpet, etc. She and my dad have been through a lot and treat it all with a sense of humour and continue to make plans regardless of how they're feeling or what they're going through and I think that attitude has helped them continue to be happy no matter what gets tossed in their direction.
My dad has been cancer-free for 11 years now and wasn't expected to live when he was first diagnosed. I love how they're still sweethearts.
I sure hope I inherited their courage and strength. I know I inherited their love for Christmas!!! Keep a merry thought in your head!

I'm just having my coffee and working on a menu plan and grocery list. I'm going to head out soon, I need to run to Rite Aid and the butcher. Back home afterward to work on my daily chores. I also plan on going to Barnes and Noble this afternoon to pick out a new book and look for another workout dvd. That's about it for me.
