Hello all. This week has been busy! My daughter has been sick since Monday evening and her fever got pretty high. But she's better now and at school for the first time in a few days.
Also, I was offered a new position yesterday within the agency I work for and I accepted. It's a good step up but it's also in an area I want to work in, doing a lot of community work. I'm excited!
I hope you all are doing well and that you have a great weekend.

I'm sorry to hear your daughter was so sick, but thankfully she's better now.

Congrats on the new position! I'm glad it's in a department you like!

Here you go, Snowflake (and for the rest of you looking!) I had no pattern so I just had to wing it and hope to cut the burlap fabric right. That is why they don't have that perfect look but then again they are suppose to have that folksy non-perfect look! I temporarily set up my table top tree to display them and to air dry the hot glue that I put them together with. I hate sewing so I am glad the hot glue held it together - very well!

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

It's much cooler this morning than it has been. I don't even mind the overcast skies! We're not supposed to get any bad weather from the storm, but it is supposed to rain all weekend. At least that will help the seeds I planted at the hunting plot!

Jacob's band has two gigs scheduled for this weekend, but they were both outdoors, so I'm thinking they will be cancelled. Too bad. I guess that means he'll be rocking the house from his bedroom all weekend.

You eat like I do. Everyone was away from the house yesterday till 9pm. I ran to Subway, bought a cold cut sandwich, and loved every bite!

Ahh I used to go to Subway but I started going to the local deli more. They just don't put much in those subway sandwiches...mostly lettuce and bread. False advertising? Ever seen their commercials? They stack the sandwiches.

I don't do gory horror movies but give me the classics like Frankenstein and I'm okay. I even picked up a Frankenstein t-shirt a couple weeks ago.

Prayers to those involved in the Oregon school shooting. Sad...saddest part I think is that we're so used to hearing about it now that it doesn't even surprise us anymore.
Just makes you realize to enjoy each day as much as you can.

I can't disagree with that. But Subway is the closest thing to a deli we have here. Beggars can't be choosers!

Yeah I live about an hour north of the city in the Hudson Valley of NY. I'm sure you guys at the coast are even more concerned. I'm hoping it goes out to sea.

It's very concerning. And so sad that victims are still struggling to rebuild after Sandy three years later.

Good Friday morning everyone! Yes FRIDAY. Who doesn't love Friday (well I guess those who work on the weekend might not). I'm looking forward to this first weekend of October. It should be a good one. I'm going to get Wendy's for dinner. Yes not quite a steak fancy dinner but I'm a simple kind of guy. I always say I'd rather have 2 slices of pizza any day over some expensive fancy restaurant meal. I guess that's why I'm single lol. It is currently 50 degrees with some light rain here in the suburbs of NY.
I hope you all have a great Friday. The anticipation on Friday is kind of like the anticipation those last few days before Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. It's exciting. Although, I do like my job and feel fortunate for what I have. It's still always the most fun on the weekend.

Friday already and also into October, wow...soon we are going to be into the start of the Christmas season, so exciting. !!

I so miss getting to be here more often, but know you are all often in my thoughts and prayers. I at least read through posts when I can so I at least get to keep up with the news. .

Work today and I think the weekend off, will know when I see the schedule later today.

One week till thanksgiving, just have to pick up the turkey yet, but with turkey price wars going on in town that will be fairly cheap !

Good Morning, Festive Friday Friends.

And as the Season approaches, it's easy to feel festive, isn't it?

Well, let's look at the numbers for today, shall we?
Days to the Season: 42 (Six weeks from today!)
Days to Christmas Day: 84 (Twelve weeks from today!)

And our next Milestone?
Well, it's the 90 percent home stretch marker and it looms just FIVE days ahead, at which point things will REALLY begin to accelerate, as we well know from past experience.


The weather?
Don't ask.
But whether you did or didn't, let me tell you it's no better. Rain, rain, and then ........ more rain. And it is supposed to continue right on through the weekend.
I can only hope there is no wind as the tree roots are saturated and many would fall. Fortunately, the hurricane track predictions have shifted far east and we can relax in that regard.
This morning has dawned (if you can even call it that) at 54 degrees with a light drizzle falling and more on the way.


Well, you try to stay dry and have a Fabulous Friday, Folks!

Good morning MMC! Happy, Happy Friday!!! YAY! Even though it's a chilly one!! We are starting off the day at 47º! I wore jeans to work today - 1st time since probably April! Booo!!
We had a good time at Moms last night, despite the ending of the movie. Pizza was delish! My niece brought our new great nephew to snuggle with. What a cutie!
My hubby took the day off work today to shell corn, so he was going to get some things done at home this morning! (Awesome!) That's about it from me!

Thank you so much. She refused to take them this morning so I'm off to a bad start. This is going to be tough. I have a hard time getting her to take pills, even when I cut them up. I can't cut the capsules and they are just too big to hide in anything. I'm going to call the veterinarian and see if they have any suggestions.

What a bummer about your butcher not being open! I'll keep my fingers crossed that he is open by the holidays!! I'd hate for you to have to break your traditions - especially when it's such a good one!
It sounds like we will get the weather you are having today, tomorrow! We have a high of 53º predicted with rain & 35 mph wind gusts. Sounds pretty miserable!

I have a Boston Terrier (Nitro). He's fussy too about what he eats. It's funny how dogs are smarter than people sometimes (actually most of the time). I'm sure the vet can give you some suggestions. I had to bribe my dog with a little peanut butter to get him to take his pill.

My father-in-law is our butcher. It's pretty handy when you want a special cut, or a steak on a Sunday afternoon!

They are smart! I've tried hiding the pills in so many different things and she just turns her nose up. I can not believe how finicky she is.
