** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 1 **

Good Morning, Christmas Season 2015 Arrivers!

And arrive in style and class we certainly did last night, with lots of Friends and Fellowship.
Wonderful!

But the count goes on!!
Days to Thanksgiving: 13 (Now UNDER 2 WEEKS!)
Days to Christmas Day: 42 (Six weeks from TODAY!)

Loved being with you all last night, great way to usher in the season !
Nicely warm here yesterday, with gentle breezes and plenty of sun.
Chilly today, then downright cold by Saturday night, where we could possibly touch close to the freezing mark!
BRRRR!
Right now, we show 53 degrees on our back door thermometer.

Have a Fabulous Friday and a Truly Fantastic start to Christmas Season 2015, Everyone.
Enjoy the next 50 days to the hilt!!

The Wonderful Ties That Bind

What a great year! Another fantastic countdown.
And thread participation WAY beyond what I ever dreamed possible when we first started here almost 10 years ago. (Has it really been that long?)

What keeps us here and keeps us coming back day after day and year after year?
Our common love of Christmas and its wonderful surrounding Season, of course.
But more than that, I think all of us know something truly good when we see it.
We see common ground with each other and we know that only the finest, nicest and kindest people would gravitate to a place such as this one. A site whose very topic insipires this kind of atmosphere. A haven where we can relax, be ourselves and not feel judged, all while wrapped in the contex of a deep, common interest.
(Can the same be said of many -- perhaps most -- other threads on the internet?)

So, as we proceed through the depth of this 50 day Season, hum a Christmas tune, put on a knowing smile and wrap yourselves in the warmth that this time of year and our wonderful members help to impart.

Have a Magnificently Merrry Christmas Season my Friends, and thanks again for another great year!

- Crown
thank you Crown, beautifully said !

Merry Afternoon,

It's Christmas!
It's Christmas!
It brings such pleasure to say it, I had to say it twice! :D

It has been another year counting down with you all and thank you so much for the laughs, support and friendships.

Wishing each of you a joyful, memorable season filled with all of your favourite things and the presence of people who mean the most to you.

so exciting !!!
I too love all the great memories and wonderful folk here.

Merry Christmas everyone!!! And Happy Fiday!! Wish I could have joined last night in the countdowns, but I've had little sleep with my work load at the university (I'm a custodian there) having doubled since Sept 1, going through a consolidation with my church and another and being a major player in that plus having a part time job at a radio station and our staff is dwindling there so I have more to do there also. My head would have made a louder crash than Jay's if I had tried to stay up. If it weren't for everyone here, I'd probably go crazy. I know I don't post much, but I do keep tabs and hope to contribute more in the little downtime I do get.

Once again, Merry Christmas and happy Friday everyone!

Sean
it is not how often you post it is just that you come when you can . So happy to hear from you !
Merry Christmas to you too!

TGIF, my Christmas friends, and Happy Start of the Season!!

Not even Friday the 13th can slow this day down!!

I'm still trying to get over the time change a couple weeks ago, so there was no way I could have stayed up to bring in the season with y'all, but it sounds like a raucous time was had by all! LOL

Today is Lulu's 6th birthday! Elizabeth is making her a peanut butter cake later today, and I'll take her for a long ride in my truck while she hangs out.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Hello all,

Yesterday was my birthday, I turned 52! Gosh, the years are just blowing by like the leaves outside the window on my house.
I also got a phone call yesterday evening (at 6 pm) from the company I interviewed with weeks ago and they hired me over the phone last night, with the catch that I have to start this coming Monday. Whoa...was not expecting that-at-all! , well, cannot say no, because it is a job of a lifetime, so I accepted. Today I have gotten into the office early, already packed up all my office contents and put them in the van before anyone came into the office this morning. Now, I have to break the bad news to them...feel a little bad....
My kids gave me a swell birthday last night, trying to cheer me up, especially because they know how sad I have been lately with so many negative things going on in my life at the moment. So many, too many to list and well everyone has them, so I will not go into details. It's just accepting them and dealing with the cards that you have drawn from the deck of life....
Happy Birthday and congratulations on your new job!

Hi Everyone! I just could not make it through the countdown last night. I kept falling asleep, so I called it a night. But it was so exciting and I just finished reading through everyone's comments. I am so happy we are starting the Christmas season together!
We have had snow flurries on and off here for most of the day. It is cloudy and a bit gloomy, but I kinda like it. I just make another hot drink and keep on truckin'.
Have yourselves a merry little Friday and Day 1 of "The Christmas Season"!!!!! :lightman

Happy Friday Friends! Just working today and tonight my oldest daughter is going to a middle school dance and then having 3 of her friends sleeping over. Otherwise should be a quiet weekend. Here is a pic of my daughter and her friends with Ralph Macchio. My daughter is the one on the tie dye shirt. I think Ralph looks good! Sorry I did not post last night my internet was acting wonky! Have a good day!View attachment 15912
