Good morning, all! Well! I received my first Christmas card yesterday (thanks, Maureen!)! I was so happy to get it, and it's sitting in a place of honor on my mantel until I get a few minutes to decorate my kitchen arch. That's where my cards usually go, they look so festive there!

Good Morning, MMC!!!!! It's going to be a rainy day here but that's okay. At least I don't have to shovel it!!! Speaking of which, that dreaded S word is in the forecast for saturday night. Doesn't sound like it will be very much though so that's okay. Not to much going on today. I've had my youngest niece since yesterday morning. She has pneumonia and had to stay off of school yesterday and today. So I'll just be hanging out with her until her mom picks her up this afternoon. Then I need to run to the store to pick up a few things for Thanksgiving before they go off of sale. Praying for all of you. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your niece. Keeping her in my prayers for quick and full recovery. Hope you get your shopping done. I love a bargain Take care of yourself and hopefully the weather won't be too harsh over weekend.

We don't do Secret Santa in our office, but I give something small to the two or three people I work most closely with. We ARE having our second annual Potluck Thanksgiving on Monday! And, bless my supervisor, she got an artificial tree for the office two years ago. Then everyone decorates it with odds and ends. I have a toy wooden barn (my dad's when he was a toddler) in the office, and after Thanksgiving I fill it with Rudolph characters and put the Bumble on top. Gosh, I'm looking forward to decorating around my desk again! The past couple years I've been going in Thanksgiving weekend to so it's all up when people come in the following Monday.

It's so exciting!!!

Unfortunately my supervisor said no gift cards...but today she came in and said she has no idea what to get so she mentioned us each making a short list to give ideas.

I probably have to agree with that. The last few years we haven't had plans on Christmas Day & it's almost a let down...Christmas Eve is over...the build up is over! Still a great day, but I would have to go with T-day & Christmas Eve being my faves!! (it's all good...)

Yeah Christmas morning is fun and then it kind of settles down in the afternoon but on Christmas night we actually have Christmas eve dinner leftovers and play games and just have fun...but definitely it gets a little sad as it starts to wind down.

Good Tuesday Morning MMC! It's currently 35 degrees under sunny skies. We are expecting a forecast high temperature today of 50 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Chilly but really back to normal type temperatures.
What's going on this Tuesday with everyone? Getting more excited by the day, the hour, or even the minute? I am. I feel like no matter what goes on at work it can't stop me from the holiday fun that is upon us. We decided this year to do a little "Secret Santa" at work (there's only 4 of us in my department). I have no idea what to get the person I picked (even though he's my best friend of the 3 there). He's around 30ish and married. Any suggestions? Supposed to spend between $50-$100.
Anyway, hope you guys have a great Tuesday. Tuesdays this time of year even seem better don't they?

How fun to do a secret santa at work. I'm in one with 4 other lake friends. I got my SS a little ceramic tree that holds wine marker ornaments & I'm making her an afghan...and probably some Christmas dish cloths...that will probably be about it. We are just sending one gift & then we'll get together to give the big gift since they all live about an hour from me.

Today I have work, and then I'm leaving early because I'm playing in my city's pops band with the Army Chorus this afternoon! WOOHOO! Excited for the concert!

I'm really having a good week so far, and I hope you all are too. Eyeing the recliner in our living room and wondering if we can convince my husband and his best friend to move it out of here Saturday so we can get ready for our Christmas tree!

I CAN'T BELIEVE it's time to even think about that!

It has been forever since I posted on here. Life continues to stay crazy for me and the next 6 months may get busier based on some new projects that are starting. I just wanted to wish all of you a happy autumn and Christmas season. I think I will decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving this year and keep them up until way after Epiphany. We did very little decorating last year since half of our house was damaged from a flood. But we are rebuilt, safe and dry and ready for the holiday season. Take care everyone.

Wow I didn't realise you might be moving that soon! How very exciting! New year, new house! I love it! Good luck with it all and I agree it makes sense to think ahead about making the move easier. Great that you are finished decorating. I have started but still quite a bit to do. Hoping to put the tree up weekend. The furnace is great, thanks for asking. Still trying to figure out the settings a little but I can already tell it's much more efficient.

I think they said the building would take @ 4 months. Exciting & ahhhh!
The hotel will hopefully open in May, so a lot at once.

Another milestone has crept up on me ... the weekend before Thanksgiving, I usually visit a local garden center that is chock-full of ornament-laden Christmas trees, lights, villages, figurines, stockings, mugs, garlands, and all things Christmas, just to get into the spirit!

Hope you get to go to the garden center this weekend!!
