Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

We went to Jacob's gig yesterday. It was a Christmas recital at the university. I haven't been on campus since I went there...in the '80's. I was completely lost. I don't know who designed the new roads and parking lots, but they need to turn in their architect's credentials!

The show was great, though. Mama went with us, then we all went out for lunch. No shopping!! Woo hoo!! I came home and finally cut the grass. I know the neighbors are relieved.

Jacob has another recital this afternoon, so we have to have a quick lunch after church, and get on the road again.

Good morning MMC! Jim just left for the Bengals/Steelers game. I have the whole day to myself (well, me 'n Grace ) - where do I even start!

I never got a chance to log in last night, I passed out on the couch watching a movie around 9pm. The late nights and work finally caught up with me.
Not to much planned for today, probably wrapping gifts, and watching the Bengals game.

Hello Made. I want cookies too! We made some last night (just frozen dough, so nothing too fancy).Anyway, I don't know why I never learn my lesson and let history repeat itself. Went to bed with a pan full of 12 cookies cooling...came in this morning to find a pan of two cookies (the ones in the very back) on the stove, and a very guilty looking Kimmie.


My fault for not feeding the poor baby.
It's actually my fault for forgetting to put the cookies away after they had cooled!

Thanks! They are cut out sugar cookies, (obviously) - orange drop cookies & peanut butter brownie cookies. One of those might have to be my breakfast this morning!

Hey MMC--

I'm a little bummed that I have to work all day today. I'm way over hours and just feeling really run down. Hopefully this is the last major hurdle to Christmas, but I do have to work more hours than normal this week as well. Thoughts and prayers for energy and for smooth sailing are definitely appreciated.

So sorry you have to be so overworked so close to Christmas. Sometimes it's a case of other people clearing their desks before Christmas that increases your workload. I hope you can get out from under the pile sooner than you expect and enjoy the days before Christmas.

Been quite a while since I've posted on the forum. Just thought I'd pop in and say hello and hope you're all having a beautiful Christmas season. I think of everyone often and pray you're all well and blessed.

We've been traveling a great deal this year. Just got back and finally got our tree yesterday. Only took 2 days and 8 tree stands. LOL

I hope you're all enjoying a Christmassy Sunday!

Yesterday was a mild Saturday, so I was able to troubleshoot the string of outdoor lights that wasn't working. It turned out to be a break in the wire near the plug end---probably chewed by an animal. So I put up a new string and got the plug-ends of all the strings up off the ground, and the tree looked nice last night. Thanks to the mild weather, there were more lights up in the neighborhood last night---yay!

We finally got cleared away in the basement (Mr. had a wrapping station set up down there) so we could screen some 16mm films for the Christmas season. Lots more to come! It's so cozy watching a real movie in the dark, with Christmas treats within reach.

Will probably go out in a little bit for some yarn I need to continue working on an afghan I'm crocheting.

Thanks! I hope you find some energy to do whatever you want today! I just made Sponge candy, so once it's cooled, I'll have some dipping (in chocolate) to do. I'm watching CMA Country Christmas on DVR. I think I'll take a drive to the lake (with Gracie of course) to take down my fall things & put up a couple Christmas things. (I forgot I needed to do that)
