The cookies turned out well. This is only the third year I've tried the recipe, and the dough was less sticky and easier to roll out this year. It's difficult to get the right consistency, because the recipe doesn't specify the amount of flour---it just says to use enough to get a soft dough that you can roll and cut. I just added flour to the mixer a half-cup at a time until the dough was firm enough to handle, divided it into four portions, refrigerated them an hour or two, then used one portion of dough at a time before getting the next out of the fridge. I probably could have rolled the dough a bit thinner in some spots, but the cookies are okay as they are. Time for a late lunch and a Christmas movie, I think!

Thanks, it has dropped down to freezing, and now snow lasting through 6:00 tonight. It is beautiful, but the roads are nasty.Going to be a long and slow commute home!

Well that's awesome! It must be a good year for cut out cookies. Ours were amazing to work with too. they rolled out nice, nothing stuck to the counter or the cookie cutters. Glad it went well. Yum!

And since this snow was not predicted, with the exception of a slight chance tonight, I didn't have my boots.
