Sounds like the Christmas Eve/Day weather we had last year. I mean 50s is one thing but does it have to rain too? That sucks at least be sunny if it's not gonna snow...I'm thinking we'll have similar weather to you but maybe minus the rain (I hope). We have a cool down coming & then a warm up again! 58 with rain on Christmas Eve & 54 & rain on Christmas. UGH!

From what I hear the pattern we have should last mostly through the winter and then the "El Nino" will die out next spring so things may go back to normal. It is strange!!! I just hope we don't pay for this warm weather in April/May. I want it to be cold when it's supposed to be cold & warm when it's supposed to be warm. Am I asking too much?![]()
I need to figure out how to spell these type of cookies but "Thatals" and "Struflas" are 2 special cookies we make now for Christmas. They're Italian cookies but obviously I'm not much of an Italian if I can't even spell them...my grams would be disappointed in me.Thanks!
The cookies turned out well. This is only the third year I've tried the recipe, and the dough was less sticky and easier to roll out this year. It's difficult to get the right consistency, because the recipe doesn't specify the amount of flour---it just says to use enough to get a soft dough that you can roll and cut. I just added flour to the mixer a half-cup at a time until the dough was firm enough to handle, divided it into four portions, refrigerated them an hour or two, then used one portion of dough at a time before getting the next out of the fridge. I probably could have rolled the dough a bit thinner in some spots, but the cookies are okay as they are. Time for a late lunch and a Christmas movie, I think!

I sent out the mass email last night inviting my family & my cousins to our house on Dec. 27th! If everyone could make it (which won't happen, but...) there would be 77 people at our house. LOL But realistically we will probably have closer to 40. The Grandkids don't all come anymore.
Christmas house hopping is THIS Friday night with our house being one of the houses. EEK!!! They will only be at our house for an hour, but it will be a house full for that hour. Going to be a busy week!![]()
Good morning MMC!
Happy Monday!
Just a quick hello, I'm heading out soon. This is going to be a very busy week for me, I have so much to do. I'll pop back in when I can. Hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Glad they helped!Success!!! Just my father, my husband and the cat remaining; managed to find myself two new tops and a pair of pants (heehee - not on my list).
Thanks; must have been your vibes that worked the magic to get it done. I was all set to head for home and remembered I needed to grab a few gift bags because all I had at home was gift wrap and festive tissue.
Enjoy them! Those were wonderful displays; hard to pick a favourite. A co-worker of mine was watching the battle of lights program and added something new to her display this year and invited me to go and take photos. I was talking to my husband about going along so he can drive and I can tell him when to stop. It's raining tonight so we'll have to wait for dry weather. No snow here yet, but that won't put a damper on my festive spirits. I saw several light displays in that array that didn't have a smidge of snow and they still looked grand.
You got it auntie. That is what it is struffoli! If one of them is struffoli like sweet mini donut balls, I remember those and they were yummy.
I'm a pizzelle fan, at Christmas Ida from across the street would drizzle chocolate over her batches. She did quite a bit of baking anything from the plate would not be a one-bite and sneak it back type cookie.
Thank you, Snowflake22Here's a good explanation, RileyIreland! =]
