Christmas Countdown - 2016

Maureen, what a lovely way to end the wedding ceremonies you conduct.


 
So far 2016 has started off well, sitting here watching the Winter Classic. My beloved Bruins vs the Canadiens, the Bruins maybe losing right now, but I love the spectacle of the outdoor game.
I ran out to return the movies to the Redbox, and decided to run to Kmart just to see the Christmas leftovers.
It was my lucky day, the still had one fabric mache Santa left, like the Possible Dreams Santa's I collect. One week after Christmas and one left just for me, just like last year! Last year was the day after Christmas though. This one has Santa holding a bottle of red wine and a glass, my wife loves wine, each Santa I collect seems to be doing something someone in my family loves to do.
I'll take this as a sign 2016 is going to be a good year.

We are watching a documentary right now, "Making a Murderer". It's very interesting, lots of twists and turns. It's about a man not to far away from us, in Wisconsin. And It's hard to turn off.
We were in Las Vegas when the story unfolded, so it's not as well known to us.

I heard a talk about that show on CBC radio the other day on the way to work. Its the one about a guy who was in prison for 18 years for a murder he did not commit, was freed and then actually committed murder later. I have been thinking about watching it. Apparently it has a big cult following.

Congrats on the find there. Now what about those Bengals? Are you guys locked in to the #2 or #3 seed? Can you still get #1? My Jets have to win to get in or else...they have to hope that Holiday's Browns beat the Steelers and no offense Holiday (if you see this) BUT I think we need more than a Christmas miracle for that to happen :).

The Bengals can only get the #2 or #3 seed, they get the #2 seed if Denver loses and they win.

That is the one, although we're only 3 episodes in, so I don't know the outcome just yet. We're trying to avoid social media on the subject, so we don't know the ending. Lots of twists and turns, every time you think you know, you don't.

I'm excited for the new year. I did not make it to midnight to see the ball drop. How sad is that? No big deal since they're replaying it on the news about 100 times :). But I almost forgot today is Friday so TGIF to you also. Oh yeah and since Christmas Eve is a Saturday and Christmas Day is a Sunday this year and I think that's just awesome. Most of us will get the Monday off also so automatically. It's gonna be fun guys. I just plan on some normal stuff today but I think I'm going to find time to just chill out and relax a bit. Not a bad way to start off 2016 right?

yup, good start to 2016 it is ! But there are only 358 days to Christmas so it is already closer than you thought !

Interesting , would never have thought of doing that. I come up with obvious names and reasons, not very creative I guess.

A cousin who lives out of state died just before Christmas and his funeral is tomorrow. We will be leaving extremely early in the morning and HOPE to get back by the end of the day. If not, we will be spending the night on the road.
As such, we will need a Countdown Volunteer for tomorrow and (possibly) Sunday morning.
(I hate to start off the New Year this way but circumstances have dictated otherwise.)

And just note how close we already are to our first Milestone of the year, the 300-day Season Window.

Here we go again starting anew , last year I didn't post much although I was always here looking around . It was a tough year for us after losing my mom basically on 12/26 I wasn't into much of anything . However it was sort of nice to come here and see posts from familiar friends . Hopefully things will look up for us this year .I am looking forward to the Christmas road trip I will be there with my wife and daughter . Counting the days !!! Happy New Year Everyone ..

It is hard to loose a parent no mater what time of the year it is., this is a great place to come when you are having a rough time.
Praying this year will bring healing to you and your family.
I have plans to make this road trip too and looking forward to finally meeting some of you in person.
