And now, an unexpected ** TRAVEL ALERT **.

A cousin who lives out of state died just before Christmas and his funeral is tomorrow. We will be leaving extremely early in the morning and HOPE to get back by the end of the day. If not, we will be spending the night on the road.
As such, we will need a Countdown Volunteer for tomorrow and (possibly) Sunday morning.
(I hate to start off the New Year this way but circumstances have dictated otherwise.)
Thanks!

I placed the opening numbers in my post #1, but here they are again for formatting:
Days to the Season: 317
Days to Christmas Day: 359

And just note how close we already are to our first Milestone of the year, the 300-day Season Window.
(See how nice it is to have a Season count? We are already a good seven weeks along in the count progress!)

I'm so sorry for your loss Crown, sending hugs and prayers.

Well, I already cannot wait for next season. The Christmas decorations and Christmas Tree have returned to storage. Kim and I feel a little empty looking into the corner and not seeing our tree. Instead, we have an old brown chair. Although we are disappointed, I think i's safe to say that Simon will miss everything maybe even more... He certainly wasn't happy when we were taking down everything, especially the Tree. Hopefully he will be just as excited as me when it comes back in 317 Days!

Can you believe it? The 2016 Christmas Season is almost here. Until then, I hope we can all enjoy a healthy and happy 2016.
ours is still up. Usually take it down new years day but had to take my van to my brothers to get a couple of minor fixes done and an oil change. Tomorrow it will come down though.
That is also the day we officially start packing up for our move. so my living room will slowly fill with boxes as we pack up starting with all our Christmas stuff
On to planning where to put everything in our new home !

So far 2016 has started off well, sitting here watching the Winter Classic. My beloved Bruins vs the Canadiens, the Bruins maybe losing right now, but I love the spectacle of the outdoor game.
I ran out to return the movies to the Redbox, and decided to run to Kmart just to see the Christmas leftovers.
It was my lucky day, the still had one fabric mache Santa left, like the Possible Dreams Santa's I collect. One week after Christmas and one left just for me, just like last year! Last year was the day after Christmas though. This one has Santa holding a bottle of red wine and a glass, my wife loves wine, each Santa I collect seems to be doing something someone in my family loves to do.
I'll take this as a sign 2016 is going to be a good year.
sounds like a great way to start the year ! How many Santa's do you have now? Would love to see some pictures of them.

home again and glad for it. We are finally getting snow and the roads are not good.
Took awhile to catch up here. Nice that almost all are off for the day and can enjoy some extra time here.
Tomorrow is when the work starts here for us. Taking down and packing the decorations. Then start packing up everything else for the big move. We have two months to do that so have lots of time to clean it all and choose what to keep and what can go.
But for now I am going to watch a movie with my son and do nothing but relax !

2016!!!!! Wow - what happened to 2015............or for that matter, 2014 or 2013??!!! The first day of January is an empty page in a new notebook. What goes in that notebook is entirely down to you. Yes, there will be influences and things that can't be ignored but it's up to YOU to decide what goes in there and what is discarded as irrelevant. Aim to be the best you that you can be each day, do at least one act of kindness each day and be responsible for your little section of the world. Oh, and drink lots of water!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful, Maureen! I wish the same to you!

Happy New Year everyone!
May 2016 be good to you.

Cherish every moment.
May the good times lift your spirits,
May you find strength when life gets challenging
Most of all, enjoy every thing else in between because this is life and we are blessed to be living the one we have been given.

Everything is happening at once, eh? The Christmas planning for a new home is only half the fun! How exciting, Star! Best of luck packing and the whole move!

I will have to get a count again, I received and bought some with my Christmas money this year just for Christmas alone. I will post a few pictures as soon as I can shrink them from my tablet to post here.

Happiest of New Years to each and every one of you! Remember the lessons from the past but never live there. Don't be so busy looking forward that you live there, either. Live fully in the present each day--it's a gift, that's why they call it the present! :) Love joy hope and peace to each and everyone here! Looking forward to the year ahead together!

This Irish Lass knows that blessing well. Enjoying my last glass of Eggnog for the season.

I just counted up my Santas, I have 42 now. I am going to have to add on to the house if I get more. :p

Spent a bit of time on FB and with my hubbins and the cat. Enjoyed some left over Chinese food for dinner and thinking of relaxing with the O'cat; searching for a movie. I'm really tired tonight and I didn't lose too much sleep lastnight so I don't know why, but I feel like pulling a Rip Van Winkle so maybe it's the Chinese Food.

Enjoy the rest of your evening - not sure what tomorrow will bring as I know I have chores to do and a bit of shopping.

Keep a merry thought in your head! :shiver
