Christmas Countdown - 2016

More movies today, and wound up with a couple of Muppet Shows (someone gave us three seasons for Christmas). Off to bed, and on to the weekend!

I'm thinking the tree will come down next weekend. I told Mr. I'd miss the cheery glow during the dark winter evenings. He suggested that I put up a tabletop tree with white lights when the big tree comes down. A great idea! I'll put a little snowman next to it, maybe.

I like that idea, I wonder if the Mrs will let me do that

How awesome that on Jan 1st at 11:45pm there are already 240 posts?!?! Happy New Year my friends!!! I'm cutting it close but wanted to check in on the 1st day of the new year!
We had a busy day with friends over watching the Buckeyes (GO BUCKS) & then plenty of food after. Everyone is gone now & of course I'm getting a little sad this was our last holiday party! but PCB's will not be setting in before Monday.
Hope you all had a wonderful/safe/blessed NYE! We ended up running into 2 of my classmates & their hubby's that we haven't seen for a really long time & spending the evening with them at the lake. It was great. Love good 'ol friends!

Had a great dinner, champagne with our friends, and watched some Netflix.
We have some paperwork to go over for the new house, and then we plan to make a trip to Menards. Other than that, back to Netflix & chill =]
We spent most of the day packing our decorations up and cleaning the house. We need some relaxation!

Good Morning christmas friends...Happy New Year guys...Had a fab evening last night at our friends house...Didn't get to bed to 5.30am this morning...Feeling a wee bit hungover today...Plenty of rest is on the menu today

5:30? lol I Love it! We got to bed at 2:30 & it was hard to get up & head home from the lake by 9:30! Hope you had a wonderful NYD!

We have too much going on next weekend, so it needed to be done.

And now, an unexpected ** TRAVEL ALERT **.

A cousin who lives out of state died just before Christmas and his funeral is tomorrow. We will be leaving extremely early in the morning and HOPE to get back by the end of the day. If not, we will be spending the night on the road.
As such, we will need a Countdown Volunteer for tomorrow and (possibly) Sunday morning.
(I hate to start off the New Year this way but circumstances have dictated otherwise.)

And just note how close we already are to our first Milestone of the year, the 300-day Season Window.
(See how nice it is to have a Season count? We are already a good seven weeks along in the count progress!)

Here we go again starting anew , last year I didn't post much although I was always here looking around . It was a tough year for us after losing my mom basically on 12/26 I wasn't into much of anything . However it was sort of nice to come here and see posts from familiar friends . Hopefully things will look up for us this year .I am looking forward to the Christmas road trip I will be there with my wife and daughter . Counting the days !!! Happy New Year Everyone ..

So sorry for your loss. I understand - lost my wonderful Dad in March. Praying this is a better year for all of us!! xx

So far 2016 has started off well, sitting here watching the Winter Classic. My beloved Bruins vs the Canadiens, the Bruins maybe losing right now, but I love the spectacle of the outdoor game.
I ran out to return the movies to the Redbox, and decided to run to Kmart just to see the Christmas leftovers.
It was my lucky day, the still had one fabric mache Santa left, like the Possible Dreams Santa's I collect. One week after Christmas and one left just for me, just like last year! Last year was the day after Christmas though. This one has Santa holding a bottle of red wine and a glass, my wife loves wine, each Santa I collect seems to be doing something someone in my family loves to do.
I'll take this as a sign 2016 is going to be a good year.

I enjoyed some of the classic today as well. There is rumor that it is going to be here next year, up at Penn State - Pens possibly vs. Flyers. If so, DH and I are going to do everything in our power to get tickets.

ours is still up. Usually take it down new years day but had to take my van to my brothers to get a couple of minor fixes done and an oil change. Tomorrow it will come down though.
That is also the day we officially start packing up for our move. so my living room will slowly fill with boxes as we pack up starting with all our Christmas stuff
On to planning where to put everything in our new home !
