Christmas Countdown - 2016

Morning everybody! What day is this????!!!!! I'm so disoriented especially as all the stores have been open straight through, I don't really have a marker to work from (at least places were closed on Christmas Day!) Today, whatever today happens to be, is completely unplanned - apart from 1/4 to 11 tonight when I'm expected at the train station to pick Bruce up (he headed down to London for New Year, as you do!) I made banana muffins yesterday so today, I think I'll make white chocolate and cranberry cookies, just because I can! I've just discovered Pride and Prejudice on TV (Colin Firth version) which has now decided my course of action for the next couple of hours!!!!!!!!! After that, a very smelly dog will be getting reintroduced to soap and water (occupational hazard of being 6 inches off the ground!!)

If you have any excess muffins you would like to get rid off , I can be there quite soon! Pride and Prejudice is one of my favourite books and I enjoy the film too! Hope Bruce had a great time. Good luck with the dog and enjoy yoru movie time!

P.S. I often visit the park where they filmed the scene with Colin coming out of the lake. It's not far from here. Lovely estate.

More movies today, and wound up with a couple of Muppet Shows (someone gave us three seasons for Christmas). Off to bed, and on to the weekend!

I'm thinking the tree will come down next weekend. I told Mr. I'd miss the cheery glow during the dark winter evenings. He suggested that I put up a tabletop tree with white lights when the big tree comes down. A great idea! I'll put a little snowman next to it, maybe.

I love that idea, I think I will do that too ! Tell your hubby thanks from me !

This week flew by, my hubby only has two more vacation days left. Not too much going on here today. I have to go food shopping this morning, I have nothing in the house. We're gong to visit my parents this afternoon. And we plan on getting pizza for dinner & watching the Islander game later this evening. That's about it for me.

How awesome that on Jan 1st at 11:45pm there are already 240 posts?!?! Happy New Year my friends!!! I'm cutting it close but wanted to check in on the 1st day of the new year!
We had a busy day with friends over watching the Buckeyes (GO BUCKS) & then plenty of food after. Everyone is gone now & of course I'm getting a little sad this was our last holiday party! but PCB's will not be setting in before Monday.
Hope you all had a wonderful/safe/blessed NYE! We ended up running into 2 of my classmates & their hubby's that we haven't seen for a really long time & spending the evening with them at the lake. It was great. Love good 'ol friends!

Starting to wind down for the first day of 2016, the boys were so exhausted they were out before 8pm after being up past midnight last night.
I am feeling a bit tired myself, I couldn't shut my brain off until well after 2am.

Thank you! It was a nice, laid back night!
Had a great dinner, champagne with our friends, and watched some Netflix.
We have some paperwork to go over for the new house, and then we plan to make a trip to Menards. Other than that, back to Netflix & chill =]
We spent most of the day packing our decorations up and cleaning the house. We need some relaxation!

Good Saturday Morning MMC! Wow the first day of the year was a relaxing one for many of us based on the posts I read. That definitely included me because basically from 4PM-11PM I was actually resting, sitting down, even laying down and just watching some t.v., playing a little video game and hanging out with family. That's the life right there...simple and relaxing. I then went to sleep another 8+ hours which is rare for me as I usually sleep more like 7 but I think my body is really just getting it's full strength up for ya know...Monday and the 5 day weeks that will follow relentlessly for me (at least for 2 months till I start to throw in some 3 day weekends cause I have a ton of vacation days still to use).
Anyway, I hope you all had a great 1st day of 2016 and that your 2nd day turns out just as good!

It definitely feels more like Christmas out today. Looks like January will be more "normal" with average temperatures from what I heard. That's fine...as long as it's not Alaska type cold we had last winter. Would have been nice if the cold hit before Christmas but eh what can ya do!
