My daughter is on the mend, thank you for asking. She is so lucky she had off from work for a few days so she's been able to rest!

Moving right along now into the new year, not to mention moving closer to Milestone #1.
More about that presently.

First:
Days to the Season: 312
Days to Christmas Day: 354

Now (and get yourself ready for this) realize that we are nearly down to SINGLE DIGITS to our first marker of 2016, the 300-day Season Window.
How is this possible, you might ask?
Good question. And good questions deserve good answers.
The answer in this case is that our Season count has been running since last November 13, thanks to the depth of our Christmas Season.
(And now you also know one of the great beauties of the Season count!)


Even colder this morning than yesterday at this time and we stand just under 25 degrees here at this hour.
Could use a break and it should come tomorrow, when things moderate a bit.
Any precip in the near future is not supposed to be of the frozen kind.


Alrighty, Folks!
Carl has completed preparations for the first 'Pines open house of the new year.
He says he wants this to be a year of "innovation". When pressed, he indicated he would like to be especially aggressive with his beverage blend experiments and wants to use his guests as tast test subjects.
I don't know about you, but it's likely caution should be exercised in the interest of prudence here, should you decide to participate.
Regardless, I hope to see you all there this evening so we can kick off "Shispering Pines 2016" in style!

Heck yeah! Everyone is welcome, and that's not just a saying. People drop in at her house all the time, and they can't leave until they've eaten. Of course, you might have to help feed the chickens before you go...
 
Good morning MMC, Merry Pine's Day!
Not too much going on here this morning. I just fried some meatballs, cooked some Italian sausage and have a big pot of sauce simmering on the stove. Smells so good in here. Spaghetti for dinner tonight. I woke up with a headache this morning so I'm going to take it easy today. I just have to pick up a prescription at Rite Aid and work on my daily chores. I didn't sleep well last night, one of my neighbors house was broken in to yesterday. No one was home thank God. And they have a dog that wasn't harmed as well. But the back door was kicked in and some jewelry was stolen. They also stole a set of house keys, my husband helped my neighbor change all of the locks last night. It's just so scary, I couldn't stop thinking about it. Anyway, that's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Wow, that's beautiful! Ours is a tiny country church beside a cotton field, but we have a large cross in the front that's covered in Christmas lights. It's really pretty in the dark, all by itself.

I always hate to hear about break-ins. It's never happened to us (thank the Lord!), but I can imagine that it would take away any security they felt for a long time. Bless their hearts.

Dinner sounds good! My stomach actually growled while I was reading your post!
