Glad you got your job done quickly and was able to enjoy comforting food and good company. I get the impression Mrs Hilda is a VERY good cook.
Have a great day!
Mrs. Hilda is Nancy's mom, and before she retired, she owned a country-cooking restaurant / catering business. She really is a very good cook, and is single-handedly responsible for about 20 lbs and 2 inches on my waistline. ;)

LOL

The words country cooking says it all! I am craving some good old fashioned comfort foods now. I wonder if she'll have me over ! :D

Good morning MMC! Happy Hump/Pines Day! the 1st Pines Day of the year. Woo Hoo! We have a lot of Pines Days ahead of us this year yet. (That should help with the PCB's) :p:D

My hubby was on his way to work this morning when he got a phone call telling him they had too many drivers if he wanted to take the day off. What the heck? How does that happen?? Lucky duck! So he gets to season ribs for smoking tonight & take Gracie to the groomer! :) That's about the only excitement around here! Ha ha!

Have a great day MMC!!!

Happy Pines Day Holiday. Hey that's cool for your husband he got the day off :).

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends! And Happy Pines Day!

I never have to spend time outside unless it's blistering hot or freezing cold, and last night was no exception to that rule. I had to do some "right now!" work on my sign rental business in the freezing cold wind in the dark, but I got it done around 7pm. Brrr! Then we had supper at Mrs. Hilda's. Great as usual, and she keeps her house around 90°F, so it didn't take me long to get over the cold weather LOL.

What's happening today? Who knows! One thing's for sure; it's going to happen.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
That statement is very simple yet very deep :).

Good Morning ... and a very cold morning it is. Took me a while to scrape all the frost off my car this morning. Hubby and I have been taking about the decorations we want to make for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are getting pallets together so when spring/summer hit we will have them to start working on new decorations. We are looking forward to this project :)

Bath and Body works is having a huge clearance sale. Good time to stock up on gifts for Easter and Mothers day. They will be here before you know it..

Hope everyone has a great day
It's never too early to plan for the BERS Minta. I had to scrape ice off my car too. Not used to it this winter.

Good morning :)
9F today, so I'm trying to stay warm. Just sitting here looking at our Christmas tree, and listening to the sounds from the fireplace❤️
That sounds so peaceful & relaxing!! Hope your daughter was able to sleep last night. xx

Merry Wednesday! Happy Pines Day!

What a morning!!! Funny story ... and it's okay to laugh so go ahead.

Early this morning some random guy turns up with a chainsaw about to cut down the tree in my front garden. The one that houses the Christmas robin that visits every year. I was dumbstruck as to what was happening at first. I ran out into the rain, still in my pajamas and fell over into the garden which is a muddy pool these days due to the heavy rains. The guy informed me that he was here to cut the tree down on the request of the owner who claims it is on their property.

After much arguing and me throwing myself in front of the tree (wet, covered in mud, twigs in hair) the guy makes a phone call only to discover he has the WRONG tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is meant o be doing the neighbour's tree two houses away!

He seemed scared at that point and made a very quick exit.

Can you imagine!!!!!!!!!!! I shudder to think what could have happened! I would have been devastated!!

Here is a photo of the robin. It's not a very clear shot but hopefully you can see him. He spends ages near the window looking in at us. He comes every year around mid autumn. He has become one of our signs that Christmas is coming.

Good thing you said it was ok to laugh b/c I laughed out loud. :p:D So glad you were home!! I can about imagine how horrified he was when he realized he had the wrong house. (not as horrified as you though thinking he was going to chop your tree down!:eek:

Good morning, friends~
Merry Pines Day!
We have snow coming this afternoon, and it sounds like it could continue through Saturday.
My car appointment went extremely well last night! They didn't hear the noise I've been hearing, and they checked my brakes thoroughly. They're still looking decent, so they gave me a complimentary car wash, and sent me on my way. No charge on the diagnostics, either. Luck was actually on my side last night =]
Wishing you all a safe, cozy, and blessed day!

Good morning snowflake!!! Glad to hear your vehicle is ok!! Good news indeed! Have a great day!!

Good Wednesday Morning MMC! You forget how long a 5 day work week is when you haven't had one in about 3 weeks! I feel like today should be the end of the week already lol. But it's all good. I'm ready for the pines today and it should be interesting to see how the first one of 2016 turns out. It's cold here but not as cold as yesterday. Thankfully, the rest of the week appears to be at or above average temperatures again. If we can keep going back and forth all winter I'll take it over the deep freeze from last winter which was relentless. I'm gonna buy a slice of buffalo chicken pizza for lunch today. That is something to look forward to all morning! Had a couple of Christmas cookies last night. Delicious!
I hope you all have a great mid-week!

Oh yum! I love buffalo chicken pizza! Enjoy!!!

Good Morning, Friends.

Moving right along now into the new year, not to mention moving closer to Milestone #1.
More about that presently.

First:
Days to the Season: 312
Days to Christmas Day: 354

Now (and get yourself ready for this) realize that we are nearly down to SINGLE DIGITS to our first marker of 2016, the 300-day Season Window.
How is this possible, you might ask?
Good question. And good questions deserve good answers.
The answer in this case is that our Season count has been running since last November 13, thanks to the depth of our Christmas Season.
(And now you also know one of the great beauties of the Season count!)

Even colder this morning than yesterday at this time and we stand just under 25 degrees here at this hour.
Could use a break and it should come tomorrow, when things moderate a bit.
Any precip in the near future is not supposed to be of the frozen kind.

Alrighty, Folks!
Carl has completed preparations for the first 'Pines open house of the new year.
He says he wants this to be a year of "innovation". When pressed, he indicated he would like to be especially aggressive with his beverage blend experiments and wants to use his guests as tast test subjects.
I don't know about you, but it's likely caution should be exercised in the interest of prudence here, should you decide to participate.
Regardless, I hope to see you all there this evening so we can kick off "Shispering Pines 2016" in style!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!

I'll be brave!!! :D See you tonight!

Lucky duck indeed! I don't thing I've ever been called to say I could just take the day off!

Me either! Oh wait I did a couple times when we had so much SNOW!!!! Doesn't look like I'll be getting that call this year. Darn!
