I gave up going to the barber last year because it seemed like why am I wasting my time once a month so he can shave hair that barely grows that much anymore. When I was young I'd wait 2 months and look like a sheep. Now I just shave it every week on my own...not like it's gonna grow much even if I let it (and not evenly either lol).

I haven't gone to the barber since 2003 or so. Mother nature decided she was going to take the hair from the top part of my head so I decided I would take the rest. During the summer I bic it, but otherwise I use clippers with no guard. Otherwise I would look like Mr Fantastic without hair on the top.

LOL ! Funny!

So, here I am still laid up with a broken fibula in the left leg. Hopefully I can try to get to work on Thursday for a couple of hours after my orthopedic appointment. This is getting old really fast. I have to say I wish they had put a cast on my foot/leg rather than the boot. The boot is flexible, which actually makes it harder to get around. It's also, (honestly, I swear) heavier than the cast I had when I broke my foot. I feel like I'm dragging a ball and chain around. Ah well, hopefully the doctor will tell me something nice like I can sleep without this nuisance on my leg. But maybe not. We'll see.

Hope you heal quickly Marybells. Sorry to hear you are having to go through that.

Thinking of you, MerryBells. Prayers being sent up.

I slipped a couple times yesterday, first time since the snow fell here that I have. Biggest thing I'm battling now is the frigid weather. My rational is that I ran the Turkey Trot here 2 Thanksgivings ago and the air temp was below zero and wind chill was at least -25, so I can run in these frigid temps. I just wear extra layers when I do. I throw out trying to beat my time in this cold/snowy conditions.
Be careful. Yeah the bitter cold is scary and where you live it's worse than here. We had some unusual extreme bitter cold last winter. I ran as fast as I could to get back inside as fast as I could. Think about how nice it'll be to run in spring, summer and fall when you're out In the cold!

LOL! Now that's funny!
We rarely get snow days here. Sometimes the very first snowfall if it's significant, or a rather large storm.
At my morning meetings today, some of the guys didn't come because of the cold. Really?! I'm out there, prepared for the weather, but still freezing, I didn't know that was an option ;)
Find me a job where I can stay home because it's too cold. Shoot that'd be nice :). You're a trooper snowflake.

Exactly!! ;)
Thanks, we were outside for part of the meeting, then in a trailer for the rest. There wasn't much heat, but it was better than -5. At least it got us out of the wind.

I guess you're used to it. We had insane type of cold last winter but you're used to it more out in Wisconsin. Further east we get some cold weather but usually not that crazy. I feel like when I was a kid I could take the cold more. Even in my 20s it didn't bother me but now as I get older I find it less enjoyable. Not like I want it to be 80s and humid every day of the year. I love the autumn weather when it's in the 50s and 60s during the day and chilly at night. But I just really don't see any reason (other than a Christmas snowstorm) that we need temperatures to ever go below 30 degrees! :)

Just came in from cleaning off the cars and shoveling the driveway and sidewalk. Henry got to play in the snow a bit, so he is happy. The wind is blowing consistent 15-25mph and gusting over 40mph. Soooo, all that shoveling was for not. Oh well, it was fun being in the snow.
Now I am drinking some coffee and listening to Kringle Radio. How can you not listen to Christmas music when it snows?

:snowball

Always a good time to listen to Christmas music...even in the July heat I say :).

60sF is what we get in summer. Sometimes we will get a heatwave for a week or so when it goes to the 70sF. Although mostly cold throughout the year, we have been lucky the last few years to have mild winters.

I agree with you, it was much more tolerable when I was younger!
We get below zero temperatures every winter, even though were used to getting them each year, adjusting to them is still a process. :p
Autumn is my absolute favorite season!
